This is the story of the 1971 war. The one war in which India decisively won a thumping victory against its arch rival Pakistan. A war in which India destroyed half of Pakistans’s navy, a third of its Air Force and a fourth of its army effectively breaking it to half of its former size and reshaping the global map giving birth to the new nation of Bangladesh. Although every wing of our services played its part and the contribution of every patriot is lauded, when push came to shove, it fell upon the able shoulders of one general, to turn the fate of this war. To turn what was to be a garden variety cease fire into the first and only public surrender in the history of the world. His name was Jacob. He had one meeting with his Pakistani counterpart General Niazi. This film gives us an insight into what happened in that meeting that changed the world forever.

I am a son of a Freedom fighter(Mukti joddha) .My father used light machine gun and granedes in the battlefield . My father trained in Darjeling india. And India helped us during liberation war,i will never forget their contribution.

My father took 21 days training in Darjeling india. After finished his training, he joined in the battleground in 6th number sector rangpur Bangladesh. My father was a front fighter. Father was 21 years old in 1971.he just finished his college that time. It will take lots of time to write the description. But moral of the story is lots of people martyrs in the battlefield. Lots of injured. And it is true that without the help of India it was not possible to independent. The liberation took 9 month and Indian army join with the fight from 4th December. But the liberation when started in march that time Indian army given support in artillery from half kilometers behind muktijoddha. 8 month muktijoddha fight alone but Indian army help from behind with artillery and supplied bullet and morter to muktijoddha. From 4th December Muktijoddha and Indian army join together, shoulder to shoulder against Pakistani military. And finally 16th December got the victory.

Today, in my class, after a short brief about the history and liberation war in 1971, I have shown this film to the entire class. Also, there are several universities, Academies, theaters in Bangladesh who are broadcasting this film. Will continue this show for 3 days (1 hour everyday 6-7 shows). Today, Bangladesh celebrates it's Victory day and thankful to the Indian nation and grateful from the bottom of heart for being the "Best friend" at the most crucial time. Thank you friends. Most Bangladeshis were brainwashed by education system and govt. They quoted it as war of liberation or something where they claim bangladeshi soldier gave them freedom(its still a question to me when there is no country named bangladesh before war, it was pakistan then which army they are talking about, even if a commitee was formed, can you just think logically pak army which was one of the top strongest army before 2000 can be defeated by commitee). Where as whole world knows it as Indo-pak war.

whatever the reasons were that time, we Bangladeshi should be thankful to Indian government specially Indira Gandhi and Indian army for all the support and help in 1971 war for example proving shelters to the Bangladeshi people in Indian land, training mukti bahini to fight etc. It would have been really difficult for us to win the war alone without any support.

Since you are in the forces I have a question for you. When we went into east Pakistan we had to move divisions of soilders from Western border. We were weak on the western front, what stopped Pakistan from attacking us on the western front?

There are many indian films over the war of 1971. None of them gave a simple tribute to #muktibahini. I am overwhelmed seeing this film. I thank indian army for standing beside us.

As Pakistan was ready to accept their defeat and they will surrender infront of Mukti Bahini, General Jacob told Field Marshal Sam Maneckshaw that the Environment of Bangladesh is good as Pakistanis are ready to surrender.
So he used the phrase "its bloody humid in Bangladesh"

The 1970 Bhola Cyclone was reason which started real crisis in East Pakistan(Bangladesh), Pakistan tried to help as much it can but because of India in the middle all our supplies were blocked... So in the video General Niazi says to hand over goverment to UN and you think that handing government to UN is wrong thing, its an international human rights body... India just wanted bangladesh to become its satelite state in which it suceeded... Now in 21st century thousands of Bangladeshes have been killed by BSF(Indian border guards) and India is planing to build a border to surround bangladesh completely by land locking it... To this date, have crisis in bangladesh been eradicated? the answer is NO, over population still exists... And you think America and West supporting Pakistan is wrong? Why didnt they supported India?, Its because they considered India as aggressor and that is why Soviet Union supported India because Soviets were aggressors aswell... Soviet Union killed 2 millions Afghans and India was the country who recognized their illegal government while Pakistan gave refugee to Afghan people... Indians have (AFSPA) imposed in all of these states which allows Indian Army to rape, kill, disapper, without any trial... American President used to call Indira Gandhi an evil witch... She embargoed supplies of East Pakistan(Bangladesh) which caused poverty and hunger so that people leave and become refugees in India and after that she would have a legitimate reason to arm them(Mukti Banini) and they go back and start a civil war in East Pakistan(Bangladesh) which would kill millions of people..
