As someone who used to be a Megaman main and who is now a pocket main, I love the character. He has obscure but great tools that can’t be compared to any other fighter. Also has a very high skill ceiling which is well appreciated for those wanting to master him. Always will love Megaman in the game
Ever since he came to Smash in 2014, Mega Man has been one of my mains in Smash. He's really fun to use and I love his moveset a lot. He's definitely an underappreciated character nowadays who doesn't get represented enough in my opinion and one of my favorite Smash Bros. characters in general. Sakurai really did the character justice.
As someone who solo mains Mega Man in both games (a mega main if you will) it's crazy that the changes that he received within these two games are somehow both big and small.
I know in my head logically ult megaman is the better character but all the teck associated with smash 4 megaman is what kinda gave him my appeal. He was one of those character you could be in lab for hours with practicing, you always had something to learn. And when you got to saw him at high level man it was like watching a new game. Sometimes, Kameme combos and game plan were so sick. Once again I know that he is better now but hes just missing what made him special imo.
he still is kinda like that, just not as reliant on tech or having as much tech and more reliant on optimal lemon movement, but still has tons to learn that take a long time to get good at. a lot of the z drop stuff and cancels come out during advantage state or during mixups
A character that i think would be very interesting to cover would be some of the ex super top tiers, like meta knight or bayonetta and what steps were taken to balance them. Ice Climbers could also be good, as we could dive into wobbling and chaingrabs and how they evolved into a insanely technical character. Also, my personal pick, wario, and how he couldve been in melee, his unique waft mechanic, how he was the best character in sm4sh for a week before a bug got patched and how he ended up as the insane combo machine that he is today.
Something else I wanna add about Smash 4 Mega Man is glide tossing. Though it’s a universal tech, it benefited Mega Man a lot more than other characters due to his traction and metal blade. There was even a tech called the Super glide toss where characters could slide from one side of a stage to the other and Mega Man was one of the best users of this tech because of how far he traveled. However both of these were removed in Smash Ultimate due to the engine changes. Also, he shouldn’t have been nerfed in Ultimate.
Not a pro player, but he's fun to use and my main in the latest Smash games. It's nice to see him being a middle to high tier fighter. They don't call him the Super Fighting Robot for nothing!
I honestly didn't realize mega Man was considered that good in either of the games. Don't get me wrong I actually think he's an awesome character with all his projectiles, not to mention how difficult it can be for me to go against him at Sonic who is my main, but it doesn't really feel like a lot of people really play as mega Man so I just didn't really think he was that good.
yeah I feel like megaman's biggest flaw was range sure his projectiles aren't designed to wall out but having more range doesn't hurt. as a heeavy projectile user it's just sad to watch a rush down character sit on the other side of the stage waiting for your laggy move to finish before approaching megaman's design to pressure oppoents doesn't work too well if the opponent can just sit out of range to avoid pressure. this design choice would be fine if they made megaman have better stats being faster and all kind of like ness and his projectile usage excluding pk fire's hitstun. it would have been really cool to see megaman approach opponents use a slew of attacks before finishing the stock. like if megaman has to get in to ko but has to get damage by staying at medium range, and pressuring opponents gives him advantage. it also would be nice where st least some of his projectiles were disjoints such as the lemons, metal blade, and hard knuckle. not all of them but just some so he's at disadvantage against reflectors but not useless

I'll never forget watching E3 2013 and seeing Megaman in Smash Bros ending off a great event for Nintendo. The hype was through the roof!

I miss smash 4 mega man, and when he had macro canceling in ultimate until it got patched out. Hasn't been the same since 😢

haven’t commented on one of your vids yet but genuinely some of the best general Smash content on YT, keep doing what you’re doing ✌🏼

I agree. He didn't need to be nerfed at all imo but he's still like high tier so
You can glide toss in ult
these uploads make me hyped every time they come out
Love the chapter title says “Mario in Smash” 😂
He fixed it 3:
I saw it tho it was amazing

The Smash 4 trailer was my introduction to Mega Man as a whole (I was only around 10 when the trailer came out), and I’ve been a long time fan since
I think you missed a detail, megamans uptilt is called Mega Upper and pulled from the Capcom vs Games
i think it was in my script, but it didn't make the cut, because the take was muffled. Easily the coolest move in Mega Man's Kit.
And from Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters (the other Mega Man 2)
Maybe I'm Psychic, but this video Is probably gonna be amazing.
album is seriously so good. Title track in particular went right to a few of my playlists❤️❤️keep it up even when the growth is slow
