Really appreciate you bringing up how Marth wasn't always good in smash 4 and was steadily buffed into being the version we ended up with
Im surprised Ganondorf wasnt on this list. He has amazing recovery, speed, and has been the best character in every game since melee. I can understand why though, as having a character that unstoppable on this list would be comparing a Tank to an ant.
You right, tbh I hope they nerf Ganondorf in the next Smash Game, make him a low tier for once, like jeez.
Pikachu, Fox, Marth, Falcon, Diddy, Sheik, Peach are the most consistent Smash characters.

You forgot about Brawl Falcon and Brawl Sheik being bad, so they're not consistent.
@@superkulty64 that's only one appearance for them, the other appearances outweigh the one bad one.
Also Sheik on Brawl has good MUs against higher tier characters so she has that going for her.

@@mandalorianhunter1 even if it's one appearance and the goods outweigh the bad, it doesn't change the fact that Falcon and Sheik aren't consistently good in every Smash game due to Brawl unlike characters like Diddy, Marth, Fox and Pikachu where they have been good in every iteration since their introduction in their respective game (you can argue Marth doesn't fit that criteria due to him being outclassed by Roy and Lucina in Ultimate, but just like the video says, his archetype is incredibly consistent since his introduction in Melee). Yes Sheik may have good MUs against some high tiers in Brawl, but she's still underwhelming and not good in that game at the end of the day. Same for Falcon.
I think fox is definetly better than pikachu overall. He's better in melee, 4, and ult, and is still really good in 64. It's only in brawl where fox is slightly worse, but he's still decent, being 13th on the most recent brawl community tier list (a tier list made by the community in Brawl Central). Pikachu was probably worse in Smash 4 than fox was in brawl, and pikachu was mid tier in melee as well.
I think if Pikachu was still considered the best character in Ultimate, he'd deserve to be the best character in all of Smash. But the hype around him seems to have died off, especially after Fighters Pass 2 finished, so yeah I can agree that Fox is better overall.

Edit: I still wonder how Snake ended up the third-heaviest character in Brawl, even being slightly heavier than Ganondorf, Charizard, and DeDeDe, and only being exceeded by Bowser and DK. Was it an error in the coding that was overlooked? Was Bowser originally going to be 140 units and 113 was upper middleweight by comparison and everyone in the upper tiers of weight was scaled down but Snake was mistakenly missed and left at 113? The world may never know.

Snake was initially going to be much bigger during Brawl's development, but it was changed last minute to make him about the same size as the other humanoid characters. However due to this change being last minute, a lot of aspects from this portrayal of the character was leftover in the game, namely his ridiculously high weight, his frame 9 jumpsquat (the largest in the series), the large amount of landing lag in his aerials, and his disproportionally huge hitboxes and KO power.
@@the_bookworm8281 This sounds very sensible, but his size modifier for Brawl was 1.08x, which implies that his model was initially smaller and made larger for the final release. Did Sakurai confirm that Snake was initially meant to be larger?
@@BirdieSenpai Upon further research, there doesn't seem to be any concrete evidence for him being larger during the game's development, only really rumors. There is a model adjustment through the empty bone called TopN, which hilariously enough resulted in some hitbox visual inaccuracies in the SmashWiki for PM Snake. The possibility is definitely there, and his other bizarre attributes contribute to this theory, but there is no conclusive evidence (no real evidence against it either). I doubt there is any possible to way to find out either, so how Snake in Brawl ended up the way he is will remain indefinitely unresolved.

If there is a video talking about the consistent worst characters in Smash, I think characters like Little Mac, Zelda and Ganondorf (sadly) deserve to be there.

It's really awesome how two of my mains, Diddy and Lucina, have been consistently amazing throughout the entire series, even with the (admittedly understandable) nerfs the former received in Ultimate.

One of the best things about Brawl Pikachu is that he's the best counter to Meta Knight (unless it's a Meta Knight banned tournament)

Not really. Mario is NOT a good character in Smash 64 and Melee because he's ALMOST considered to be a Low Tier character in both titles (especially in Smash 64). However, I can say that Luigi was pretty close to being good in most of the Smash titles except for Smash 64 and Brawl. However, I say that Luigi was pretty good in Melee and Smash 4 (especially in Melee). Keep in mind, that Mario is NOT supposed to EXCEL in any particular stats in the first place. I bet you're trying to say that Mario used to be a good character in Smash 64 and Melee, but he wasn't nearly as good as how he was perceived to be in the past. The only reason why Mario is good in Smash 4 and Ultimate is because that Sakurai finally decided to fix up his below average character abilities from the first three Smash titles. However, you're absolutely right that Mario was, indeed, severely nerfed from Melee to Brawl since he almost has no type of KO and recovery options in Brawl like how he originally had in the first two Smash titles back then. Overall, I say that his character abilities even became worse in Melee since both his KO power and Recovery got immensely nerfed as well.
Fox and Pikachu: two of the oldest smash Brothers characters out of the original 12 and the most consistently good.
Regardless who you put first these two will always be at top
Umm Honest Peach is high tier in Smash 4 without a doubt and the tier wasn't updated for the last year of Smash 4 where Peach was dominating tournaments.

Honestly its not even marth or the devs fault. Marth is still a really good character and if Lucina was not in the game I am 100% sure that marth would be a high ranked character. People just pretend he is bad because he is outclassed by Lucina.

@@Newbmann 90% of the cast is high tier. The only reason characters are labeled mid tier is because of usage. The game is very balanced you cant rank it the same way of other smash games.

imo fox doesn't have any bad moves in melee, they all have their own uses. fair is a combo starter and extender at mid-high percent, ftilt and downward angled ftilt are both good for catching people at ledge or just for funnies. forward throw is just bad but most characters don't have good fthrows in melee. don't understand why you put pika above fox overall but it's your video, well done

Fox is literally the perfectly made menace.
Pika always has some bullshit that accompanies him whether it be chain grabs, chain aerials, gimping tools, recovery, etc.
Marth, Sheik. Good in all games(4 games)
Marth is his worst iteration right not but he’s nowhere near low tier.
Even in brawl Sheik had a niche roll as a counterpick character. Smash 4 was her most dominant performance and in ultimate we are able to see what she’s truly capable of in the hands of people like VoiD.
MK, ice climbers, zero suit. Good in all games(3)

Ice climbers and zss are both on the worst iterations right now but my own bias thinks I’ve climbers will become a problem in the future in the right hands. Zss may not be as good as her smash 4 version but being as fast as she is, it’s impossible to say she’s anywhere below high tier.

I’d say Sonic is pretty consistent. He was arguably a high mid tier in brawl, and then just became broken in 4 and ultimate.

@@SonicTheCutehogsame with 4 and ult to a degree,he's probably the only not meta knight chatacter that can do up air to up air without breaking a controller and spindash is at it's best with the floaty engine and his aireals actually had less landing lag in brawl than 4.He was great just oushined and he didn't need chain grabs to win.

Marth is still really good in Ult - he’s just not easy to use so who would even bother using him when there are unga bunga characters in Ult who are better than him?
10:20 - I disagree. Marth has tools to be as good as or better than Roy but it's that the majority of players look at him incorrectly and select the wrong options. It's sad because Marth has the aMSa Yoshi effect...being ranked lower than what he actually is granted amsa put in WAY more technical work with Yoshi- the Ultimate scene is FAR lazier when it comes to pushing a character to their limits.

I agree 100%. I think he is way better than people give him credit for, but people do not play him correctly and throw out the worst options. The amount of times I see Marth mains miss out on a kill combo opportunity, just to throw out a stale forward air for the millionth time.... ugh.

If a Diddy, Sora, Mario, peach, fox, or bayo, and even pit, dash attack me. That's a free up smash and death at 120%.
They also need to understand opponent tendencies. I learned this from ppmd, and some mindset encouragement when I met Zain in person at Shine.

Fox is bad in smash 4 and. smash Bros ultimate
