Just an FYI - I believe Ford recommends replacing the axle nut and the brake bracket bolts as those come with thread locker already applied to prevent them from backing out in the future. The newer Mustangs have an annoying issue where axle nuts loosen over time as they don't have any way to secure them other than torque. I would even recommend marking the axle nuts and threads with a paint pen to keep an eye on them. Excellent video, thanks!
Yes, on Fords it is highly recommended to replace the axle nut. Most new axles come with a new nut. Do not reuse. The bracket bolts I have had no issues. Being a mechanic for a living changing brakes as long as I have been. As long as you put some type of thread locker on it. Do not use orange or red. Use blue. And everything would be fine. I’m actually creating something for the Mustangs to prevent the actual nut from backing off.
@2:36 it’s actually an 18mm on my 2018. Thanks for the video it definitely helped me. When I finished up, I realized I didn’t seat the axle all the way, it was out maybe 1/3 of an inch. I drove 60k like that too. All I did was remove the axle nut and was able to give it a good push into place. I used a National seal because it seams like the ford ones always fail. The National seal is a slightly different design too 👍
Should an alignment be done after?
Yes, always after replacing anything to do with suspension.

Great info thanks for the tutorial
What did you grease the half axle spine with?
I soaked it in axle oil
