Awesome video! Just what I needed and with the same hard drive I bought. Thank you !!!
This helped a ton ! Thanks 👍🏼
Brother... Can't thank you enough. Love your awesomely simplified useful video.
Thank you brother and keep the good work coming.
Dude, awesome, I've had one for a while and I've never thought to look it up lol, but this helped out so much and I'm already transferring everything onto it. Great job 👍👍👍
Good tutorial. The only thing I'm not sure if you forgot to mention or didn't know is if you are to download a game straight from the market place to the external hd, the dl time will be greatly decreased. Just a "more you know" fact for anyone new to using an external hd on their console. The games themself though seem to play and load pretty much just as fast, so dont worry to much about that.
is that relative to the speed of the rpm of the hdd?
it doesn’t really matter if you can either way you can copy it to the external drive
Downloading to extern HD right now; ca normal speed
@@4th19th2 Yes, if is an ssd it should be faster.
Great video sorry for being 5 months late to it lol really helped out my g really appreciated will make a post on twitter and a few discord groups for those who might need help
Awesome info! Thanks for the easy step by step!
Yo dude tnx for the time you put out of your day to help us

Lmao true 😂😂😂
@@thatkidmingming7390 cold war take 100gb I think
This was super helpful. Thanks bro
The difference in HDD storage on the HDD box and in the OS of the Xbox (or W10, because the Xbox is running a sort of stripped W10) is due to the fact that Hard drive manufacturers market drives in terms of decimal (base 10) capacity. In decimal notation, one megabyte (MB) is equal to 1,000,000 bytes, one gigabyte (GB) is equal to 1,000,000,000 bytes, and one terabyte (TB) is equal to 1,000,000,000,000 bytes.
Programs such as FDISK, system BIOS, Windows 10, Xbox, and older versions of macOS use the binary (base 2) numbering system. In the binary numbering system, one megabyte is equal to 1,048,576 bytes, one gigabyte is equal to 1,073,741,824 bytes, and one terabyte is equal to 1,099,511,627,776 bytes.
Capacity Calculation Formula
Decimal capacity / 1,048,576 = Binary MB capacity
Decimal capacity / 1,073,741,824 = Binary GB capacity
Decimal capacity / 1,099,511,627,776 = Decimal TB capacity
Example:
A 500 GB hard drive is approximately 500,000,000,000 bytes (500 x 1,000,000,000).
500,000,000,000 / 1,048,576 = 476,837 megabytes (MB) = 465 gigabytes (GB)
That's why. (your question at 4:09)
Good or bad thing? Can all 2 terabytes be used even tho it says only 1.8 is available
hey, this really helped me...just got my ext HD today and I was confused about how to put one in and this helped extremely so thank you!

Thanks for this vid. I've been thinking about getting external memory for my xbox one. So I looked it up on Google and it said xbox one but the pictures were I think xbox one x, so I'm glad that you showed that it's for xbox one.
Very helpful 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Thanks. It helped alot
Does Seagate screen record everything on your screen like an elgato? Also, does it record party audio?
I have the same storage device as you but for some reason it sees it as a media storage device and I can’t choose to be for games in the actual console, did you have to do this? If so any recommendations on videos to help fix this ?
Useful video. Im in the same situation with only 500g on internal and looking for an external expansion. Thanks for your informative video!
Earned a new sub
GREAT VIDEO, you deserve 1M subs
Thanks for the help.
How do you get it where the system boots off of it to reduce start up times
Just got this external hard drive tonight from Amazon just doing my first dump on it. Glad I found this vid. Cheers
Alright, this seems like excellent content!
thank you for this video
when updating a game does it go onto the drive that the game is on? or does it go to the default drive? cause I don't want to have the game downloaded on the internal and the update on the external.
Thanks for helping bro
Such a big help made it way easy to setup my T7 SSD to my Xbox 👍
Congrats bro you earned a sub for making my life more easy!!!
Thank you so much dude
Appreciate this
thank you so much!
Thanks mate 👍🏽
My Xbox one doesn't ask to format my seagate 2tb device after it recognizes it. I can't use the device much. It lets me see the card's contents, which is empty but it won't even let me transfer games to it. Need help.
Thank you your a life saver
Thanks your video!
You speak clearly and easy to understand how to setup external hard drive ...
That's really helpful 😃😃😃👍👍👍
Bruh thank you so much up for this..
Just bought it through your Amazon link, you deserve the commission. I have Cod: Cold War coming soon from Amazon so I needed extra space, thanks for the help.
Thank you bro
Hi, once you plug in an external drive, if you ever want to use your internal again, do you have to adjust the settings?
I love that mic sm
Thanks!
Thanks 💪🏽
Thank you 💯💯
Just got mind today thx bro
Dude thank you so much I was really hoping someone had the same hard drive so I wouldn't have to go in blindly
Thank you man
Thank you
Easy peezy. Thanks
Great vídeo thanks. I also have the games Battlefield V, Destiny 2 and Battlefront 1. Congrats from Portugal
How do you do that if it’s like a disc game so like if it’s a game disc but it downloads to the Xbox are you able to move that installed disc game to the external hard drive or no
Good tutorial
i’ve been trying to get this to work but it hasn’t been doing anything, i’m positive i got the right drive but it only opens media player and won’t just give me extra space. any suggestions?
Thanks for sharing. 1question. I have series S and I need a 3.1. Can you just get a 3.1 cord and still use the same storage drive?
I have a question what if the thing was formatted to media already? That happened to me and I want it for games but I don’t know how to fix that problem
U really make life easy
I have Hard drive from my computer so the current case that I put my hard drive is 2.0 and that formatting option not coming now, so after I take another case 3.0 for my hard drive it will come or it’s because my hard drive is from computer ?
Can I play the gnawed directly off the external HDD in my Xbox One S or will i have to move it back on to the Internal HDD in order to play just like on the the newer Xbox Series S and X?
A b s o l u t e LEGEND!!! Thanks man I was so confused on how to move Modern Warfare from my system to my hard drive after setup and you explained it perfectly. Literal life saver over here. Definitely earned a sub!
A year later and this video is still helping me
My question is that is it safe to unplug it when you're not currently downloading something on the external hard drive or do you have to turn it off through settings like you have to on the PS4 just curious?
Just cu would I be able to store everything on it so I could get a new Xbox? I'm new to hard drives and I've been experiencing issues like getting stuck on the update screen I've experienced issues like black screen/ getting stuck on the update screen few months ago but today I've been getting stuck on the update screen I've restarted it and unplugged it multiple times I'm getting sick of it ugh
Bro thanks for the help i just got one from my cousin and was confused and thought i already broke it. Again thank you so much😄
