Why didn’t you put hose clamps on both ends of the breather hose? This is what happened during my install, it caused the vehicle to stall when accelerating heavily!
Would the filter suck on hot air from where the lid gos on I don’t see how that would fully close it up when the engine is sucking hard will it not suck air from there ?
I installed this K&N kit on my GMC sierra 6.2, when I accelerate heavy the vehicle stalls as if it’s not getting enough air, is this normal? Basically a HP loss!
Do you have to reflash the ecu after installing a cai on these... I have a '20 sierra denali and have been looking to do some upgrades. I've seen your exhaust videos for them, but still can't decide. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 👍🏾
Installation is not going to be exactly the same since this install was for the closed box version of the intake but it will be very similar for the 77 series.
All I hear from forums is that you will get a check engine light with these, that's why the GM performance parts CAI comes with an ECM flash for the MAFS sensor.
We have installed a few different versions of the intakes on these trucks and we have not ran into any issues. Most intake systems are going to not require anything other then the intake. If the check engine light comes on then it could be a simple code that just needs to be cleared. The system might have seen an error during the installation process.
Any intake system will do a great job when compared to the factory unit. With that said, the K&N unit is a great kit that works flawlessly and looks better under the hood. Now I would not say that it is our go to but it is definitely at the top of our list. It should not void the warranty but we do always suggest checking with your local servicing dealer. Some dealers are little more lenient with modifications then others. No check engine light at all. Simply bolt the intake in place of the factory one and you are good to go.
Some trucks have shown to not have an issue with keeping the filter life ON, others have shown to not like the intake swap too much and keep giving the notification. So it would all depend on how the truck would act with the intake installed.

When u push the lid down There is no way it fully seals ?
So it must under load suck hot air through the gapes

my 6.2L 63-3110 kit did not a place on the box for the rubber feet or the rubber gromets What int he world?

No, this intake will not require any tuning. Simply bolt it on and go!
This with the Borla exhaust and youre golden!

I installed my Intake and later on the check engine light came on any suggestions what could be??
It could be that the key was turned on while the sensor was unplugged. We would suggest clearing the code and seeing if it comes back.

Although we do suggest putting the lid in place. You could try it with out the lid and see what it sounds like.

This intake will come with the parts to fit the 6.2L.

Installation will be about the same process. The Blackhawk is just an open box design when compared to this version.

That tool has a few different references, we stuck with one of the most common.
