    This K&N Series 77 High Flow Performance Cold Air Intake System is a free-flowing aluminum tube air induction kit designed to replace your entire factory intake system. It reduces airflow restriction by smoothing and strengthening the flow of air, allowing your 5.3L V8 engine to take in a larger amount of air than your old factory installation did.
    A better airflow means more power and acceleration for your 5.3L Sierra. This system from K&N directs air through the intake tubing and into your engine's throttle body. The result is a guaranteed and noticeable gain in power.
    The intake tube is built to last, featuring aluminum construction with a chrome-like finish. In addition, the cone-shaped, oversized air filter lasts up to 100,000 miles in standard driving conditions before you'll need to service it. The filter is washable and reusable, making it even easier to get the most out of your performance air intake kit.

    Is there much risk to driving through heavy rain with this intake, I’m not talking about puddles, but in general??
    I’m asking as I think my ‘17 Silverado 1500 will be fine with it on as it’s my daily driver and I live in Canada; but doesn’t hurt to throw the question out there.

    Do you have to worry about getting rain coming up from the roads or crack of the hood?

    • @AmericanTrucksChevyGMC
      @AmericanTrucksChevyGMC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      With how this guy is positioned in the engine bay, you really don't have to worry about rain from the road unless you plan on driving through some deep puddles or flooded areas. 😂 If you want to protect your filter from rain a little more though, K&N does sell filter pre-wraps! -Zach

    what tuner do you recommend along with this intake?

  • @ridingwiththereids
    @ridingwiththereids 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I like the heat shield and Intake tube, but not the filter. I've had to many MAF problems with oil soaked air filters.

    • @RHTR3s
      @RHTR3s 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So what kind of air filter do you use?

    • @ridingwiththereids
      @ridingwiththereids 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RHTR3s dry filters. And I'm not bashing K&N. Usually if there is a MAF problem it's because the owner WAY over oiled the filter. But I've seen it. Plus people tend to install cold air intakes and never open the hood again. I can't tell you how many turbo's and engines I've replaced due to lack of filter maintenance.

    • @AmericanTrucksChevyGMC
      @AmericanTrucksChevyGMC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      K&N filters generally don't need to be cleaned too often! I'd recommend taking a look at it every 20,000 miles or so. If things are looking really dirty and clogged with dust it may warrant needing cleaned, but if it looks fine you can let it go! -Zach
