Before I put my 12" sub, I used an off brand dynomat from sonic elecrronix , did the majority of the trunk, including the trunk lid, shoved a rag inside the brake light from the little hole where the wire goes in, and made sure I fired the sub forward. Also got a Audio Control epicenter which has a subsonic filter, no more rattles. Very good bass without any rattles, an added bonus, quieted down the road and exauhst a little too!
This video really helped. I just taped the inside light piece thats rattling with black duct tape, and that helped, I also just put thick tape on all the contacts. No more rattle and looks good. I hear something in the drivers side door panel, but its hard to pinpoint.
Thanks for helping me locate that rattle on the left side of the rear bumper! Have been trying to locate it for ages as I thought the rattle was somewhere in the rear left door. Pretty excited to finally get it fixed after work!
no, i am small time channel my friend. i do low budget garage video. and my channel is known for the truth. even when a product sucks. but i do have many sponsors and get sent products to test every few weeks.
I have the exact same rattle, in the exact same spot with my bumper. Thank you for showing a great tip on how to fix it. I do have several other areas inside that rattle just from driving. Such as the b pillar, behind the instrument cluster and the map lights. The car also has terrible wind whistling from the front, side and rear. I'll have to figure out how to resolve them.
sweet man! its not just me then. my map lights have always had a rattle. i would have already fixed it but i dont want to drop the headliner and rip something. wind whistling is normal. car isnt that aerodynamic.
Thanks! Just did this to my rear brake light and fixed some other rattles at the tweeters as i realized I didn't tighten the screws enough or they went loose later in the year and also taped up the grills of the tweeters lol. Happy New Year!
blower I work at a dealership, and we use felt for interior rattles. Stick it where pieces contact or clip together. Dynamat can reduce the vibrations, like a band-aid, but felt will stop the rattles.
U going to do get the rear fog light? Also I got a 3rd brake light trunk rattle and told my dealer they are going to replace the hole thing lol pretty sure there's a TSB fix in the states and Canada where I'm from
Mine rattles from door and fuse box inside under dash from door horrible mine doesn't rattle like that from bumper or mirrors with base up ran out and wanted to check I would definitely fix that rattle in bumper that's terrible
Thanks, just did the bumper fix and was useful to confirm. I wanna keep WRX forever as my last ICE car likely.
Np Mac daddy
Hey man this vid helped me alot thank you!

thanks same to you
lol I like your approach to find the rattle points!
thanks, rap always does it.
nice work dude
thanks
You really need to get a few sheets of dynamat - nothing stops plastic rattles more than sticking a few small squares of that on stuff strategically
that was my first plan earlier in the day. then i decided i didnt even need it.

Maybe try some Insulation Foam Tape under that brake light if it comes back, but seems like you got it. I'm also a fan of 80's-90's hip-hop.
sweet bro.
Great video! Thanks for the share
Luniz! Haha I got 5 on it.
5 on it?
LastHumansGarage Lmfao!
I guess he wasn't a Luniz guy... :)
never heard of it. but i just listened to it. pretty sweet. i also liked 2LiveCrew.
mine is worse when it's cold. once fixed in the cold you should be good

Dude, Thanks!
How could you forget Tone Loc?!
i never forget him.
Are Subarus known for shitty build? I'm wondering if this isn't worth owning. Between this and ring land failure, I'm not sure if ever buy one again.
