Just tried this and very cool. Thanks for this. I did have question though. What is the purpose or what is happening when you perform the 'copy'? The reason why I ask is because after I did all the steps (unless I missed one), I removed the memory stick. Once I did that, it won't let me change to a different image without inserting the memory stick back in. Did I miss something? 2017 STI

So... this works.. but I don't see any way to select images without plugging in the USB. Like, I have 4 images uploaded... but I have to plug in my USB to select an already uploaded image.
That is pretty sweet!! Will have to try it. Question for you, the 2 primary stereo knobs on yours, did you add something to them? I noticed yours have like a Rubber grip on them? My biggest complaint in my 16' is that I don't have those, it is very slick, and there is no way to easily turn them unless you can really focus on grabbing it to turn it.
+ElsaSTI, No videos recently? ha So I figured out a fix for the annoying knob issue! No more death grip to grab the volume in a flash. The wife gave me the idea to order a set of "silicon wedding rings" yep, 2 of those! Problem solved! They are black and blend in, but give you grip for better control! Size 8, from Chine for 1.90 or so.
I did this on my 2018 sti. It works, but it resets every time you turn off the car....meaning you have to customize screen off image every time you start up the car.
I followed ALL the steps on ur video and the system still won't recognized my USB. Do u think they did something new with the system? I have a 2017 STi..
I tried 3 different USB's but I purchased a brand new USB from Best Buy about 3 days ago, It was a SanDisk 8GB 2.0/3.0 Compatible. I plugged it in and it worked. For some reason, i guess i needed the a brand new USB. The other 3 that I tried were all used ones. I don't really think it matters wether the USB is used or brand new, but my car only recognized the brand new one.

For the 2015 with the older Nav unit, you can change the image on the start up screen, but it doesn't have a shut down image
Howwww did you do that??? Which version of unit do you have? A 6.2inch?
Dog is just chilling in the background :) Can't do any of that though because I have the 2015 WRX with aftermarket Pioneer AVH-X5600BHS which I love.

I'm unfamiliar with the other headunit, I just know it works for my 7" Starlink hardware.
I plugged in my usb, but when i went to the menu, the USB option is not highlighted, meaning the system is not recognizing my USB. Why is that?

Definitely like to know this too. Those knobs are useless because of how slippery they are.
Would this also work in the WRX? Looks like a lot of possibilities here.
