  • This Brake fixing project took me almost 2 months. Measuring, replacing, some mistakes, dismantling again, seized cable, worn out bearing...
    No way I am teaching how to do. I just show all my mistakes and successes.

    Good and informative repair tutorial, nice idea to use the car jack as a press to push the bearings in the break drums.
    Good job👍

    Thank you so very much! I'm in the US and have similar brakes on my horse trailer; there's no one in my area willing to work on a European trailer, so I'll have to do the work myself. You made things very clear and I think I will be able to do the work myself.

      Hi there my Horse Friend , my girlfriend has also a horse and I restore an old german horse trailer from 1984 made by " Julius Landwehr "
      Whats your horse trailers Brand?
      Popular in europe are Boeckmann, Cheval liberte, Humbaur, Ifor Williams, Sirius, Woermann and some more.
      All that trailers have often breaks and axles made by Knott, Schlegel or Al-Ko.
      There are many tutorial videos about on TH-cam. Some videos are made by the manufactures itself, knott for example.
      Best wishes and a nice summer time
      Sascha from Hanover/ Germany

    Sveiki kaip turi buti isdestytas teisingai ratu stabdymas asims ar visi ratai stabdo vaziuojant i prieki ar viena asis stabo vaziuojant atga kita kap i priekil?

      Labas. Visi ratai stabdo tik į priekį. Atgal padaryta, kad nestabdytų. Tik reikia teisingai sumontuoti, nesumaišyti.

    Ohhh, you should NEVER press on the inner ring on the bearing when pressing in a new one, as you put a lot of force on the bearing itself and will not last long after that. The outer steel ring should take the force when pressing it in. At least it looks like you are pressing on the inner part of the bearing.

    • @Dasiukas
      @Dasiukas  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your notice. I’ve been using the old bearing to push the new one further on. Pushing the outer ring. Some force could go to the inner too though. Anyway that wheel is okay for the second season already

    Springs must be fitted from behind not like you did from front

    4:47 did you had enough pee to cool down the other two wheels on the other side of the trailer? :D

    • @Dasiukas
      @Dasiukas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately... Just for one side was enough...

      @@Dasiukas then you should drink more water to stay hydrated because you never know when you need to extinguish the fire :D
