Replacing and Adjusting Brake Cables on Knott Avonride Braked, Brian James Minno Trailer

Replacing corroded and seized Bowden brake cables on the twin axle, Brian James Minno, car transporter trailer.
Also replaced the clamshells holding the brake cables onto the Knott brake backplates (the upper shells were welded onto the backplates).
Adjusted the brake drums, the brake balance bars and rods and the handbrake.
Fitted new over-the-wheel straps to secure the race car to the trailer (much more secure and very easy to lash down).
At the end of the video there is some footage of my Jeffrey 750cc Historic Sports Racer competing at the Doune Hillclimb (Scotland) on 19th September 2021.

Just about to build my own twin axle boat trailer and looked everywhere for an example of a break cable set up. Luckily i eventually found your video. Nice one thanks its helped me know what parts i need. 👍👍

Excellent video. I’m currently in the process of overhauling the brakes on my minno. You couldn’t help with a part number for the cables?

4 x Half Shell Retaining Plate for KNOTT Brake Cables on Ifor Williams Trailer: eBay item number 194220661510
I used 8 of the half shells as I cut off the halves which were welded to the backplates.

So now both the Jeffrey and the Trailer has brakes.

The Jeffrey now stops and the trailer no longer gets stuck brakes when I reverse or use the handbrake.
