The 46 markings are when KarKraft removed the hood, and knew which one it goes back onto. The marks by the hinges were alignment marks so they could reinstall it after the modification.

Hi cookcars1, Yes, this is a early video, and I do start most of the cars, however stay tuned and I'm sure I'll video another and get the 429 sound :-) Lou P.S. I'm going to the Ford Nationals this weekend :-)
you know Lou...one of the best features of your coverage on these cars, and even more the consistancy of it..is the freeze-frame-ability on the intel you incorporate into your shoots for the hardcore gearheads out there...like me!!!...its a great feature and formula...mcdonalds knows they come for the fries as much as the burgers, and coke knows now never mess with the recipe again. this shotgun-motored mustang is a good bookend for "blackie"...most enjoyable video on a great car....kutgw!!!
I drove a Wimbledon white Boss 429 in 1975, it had 16k miles and it sold to a couple who traded in a 1967 mustang, dark green with a rear opening hood scoop and $700 dollars cash. 67 went for $1500 at Lakeland auction, so I could have bought it for $2200. It was sold in Auburndale FL. by Hartmann Motors,we shared the property, car lot in front body shop in back. Just stripped and painted my 71 AMX 401 and emotions kept me from trading it in on it. What a mistake, hmm can't go back the guy that left it on consignment bought it new but couldn't afford the insurance.
Hi John, Yes, you had a great car! I think it was Dr. Suess who said "Don't be sad it's over. Be glad it happened." That helps me with people and things I've lost, and I hope it helps you too, Lou

Sorry guys I don't believe this car has 16,000 original miles on it. The paint texture on the hood and fenders is not the same as the rest of the car. The paint on the hood is hazey and it looks like it didn't flow out correctly. The air cleaner snorkel looks like its been repainted , its got some dirt in the paint. The fender apron decal looks repro. The console in by the shifter looks kinda rough for 16,000 miles. AND. The odometers. numbers are out of alignment for a car only having 16,000miles on it . Sorry guys just my opinion , maybe it's the lighting . BUT THE CAR IS A BEAUTIFUL SPECIMEN

I'm confused about something. Maybe someone can help me out here. Ok, all Boss 429's left the Ford factory as Mach 1's correct? Ok. He said it left the factory with a 385 but Ford did not offer a 385 cu in. engine. Now, they did however have the 385 'series' of engines which included the 370, 460, 514, and of course the 429. The Mach 1 was never offered with one of these engines except when it got the 429 when it was converted to a Boss 429 which of course it didn't leave the Ford factory with like he stated. Now, am I missing something here? Unless he meant it left with a 428 but that's FE right? Idk. I'm confused. Is his wrong or am I just misinformed?

It's the engine they are referring to, the 429-460 engine is the 385 series
