The Wrong Woman from Big Finish's Dalek Universe Vol. #1 - taking place between the events of The Tramp & The Resurrection Of Mars* Now in a female incarnation, The Monk (going by the name The Nun) she helped inventor George Sheldrake develop time travel. However Sheldrake stole her components from her TARDIS and attempted to abandon her in the time vortex. During an attempt to recover the stolen components, The Monk/Nun encountered The Tenth Doctor, along with SSS agents Anya Kingdom & Mark Seven, and through an elaborate ruse kidnapped The Doctor by swapping places with him and making it appear as if she was his next regenerated incarnation. Recovering the components of her TARDIS, The Monk/Nun teamed up (albeit reluctantly) with The Tenth Doctor to stop Sheldrake from destroyed the vortex now his time machine was missing a vital component. But after managing to initially stabilise the vortex, and learning of both the Time War & that The Tenth Doctor was from the far future, decided to take the opportunity to flee in her TARDIS, lest The Doctor punish her for her meddling.
Thank you doing this. My parents would never allow me to buy audio stories or books relevant to dw cannon. And whenever I would go on forums. I would be bloody confused on what people are talking about as 50+ years worth of cannon and unknown knowledge.
Great video guys. Well researched. I may be mis-remembering because it’s been about 15 years since I read it but isn’t it hinted that one of the other Time-lords in the Doctor’s future, bidding on his body in Alina Bodies (EDA) is also the Monk?
Thanks and I had a vague memory of reading something like that myself once, but after looking into it, I couldn't find any mention of it, HOWEVER that being said I must admit I've never read the book, and it's perfectly possible that it's one of those subtle references that's open to interpretation and so not written down as a definitive fact

I hope when she appears again in Missy 3, she's just as good with Rufus Hound. Wouldn't it be great if Gemma Whelan, Graeme Garden, and Rufus Hound all joined forces in an audio drama, or on the screen?

Graeme Garden as the Monk is a great choice, especially the aussie fans of both who and his show he came from The Goodies. Goodies fan will know Graeme taking on a villain like role in Radio Goodies as "Pirate Graeme"
Atleast one confirmed brother that we know of through the expanded media (Braxiatel), and possibly another brother and a sister however that is more debated due to conflicting information.
One of my favourite characters from the TV series unfortunately I haven't dabbled much in the comics, audios and novels he has appeared in but they sound fascinating! I have plans for the Meddling Monk (or should I say Mortimus? :P) for my own Doctor Who comics one day.
As mentioned in this video The "Rufus" Monk reveal he hid himself during The Time War in order to avoid the conflict, so whilst it's possible he (or another unknown incarnation) was around during the Time War, they didn't fight in it
If tardises were that easy to disable, inevitably eventually this would get done to the Doctor by one of his many enemies. Completely silly undermining of the show's whole premise.
Not really as it is HAS been done, that's partly how the TimeLord's exiled The Third Doctor to Earth, also unlike The Monk The Doctor is a scientist and more well versed in repairing and rebuilding his TARDIS, so whilst it's might be easy to disable it's also easy for him to fix. Lastly to say it completely undermines the show's whole premise is a bit silly in itself as it does nothing of the sort, given the wide range of the shows premise.
