    Another excellent video, Sonduren! Thank you. The interior of the NX with its excellent infotainment system and luxurious look and feel were the tipping point for us. The exterior looks great of course but we spend most of our time inside and have to be happy with our surroundings. Lexus makes every drive even to the supermarket a joy. Your choice of white is very nice. About 60-70% of NX in Japan are white. We went with green just to buck the trend. Ultimately, I think the long-term reliability of Lexus was the main reason we went with it over its competitors. We kept our last Toyota for 13 years and plan to do the same with this one.

      Thanks Larry and completely agree with you as well. Insane stat on the white Lexus LOL! I guess it does look nice, we almost went with Nori Green as well (stunning). Yeap same here with both the IS250 and my old IS350. Both went over 350,000km and still going. Just built like tanks. Love the reliability.

    Hey, I'm one of your newest fans now, and kind of big one. Love all your videos and the level of details that you give vs the competetion is unmatched.
    I've been literally in the same boat as you. I had been hunting for cars since November 2022 and finally filtered on the NX350H with very high recommendations from some friends and a test drive. But still didn't quite make the decision until I saw your videos on the NX350H. So I started searching the dealers specifically for the one with white exterior and red interiors. I was lucky enough to get the exact color and specs with one dealer and even got my car delivered by the mid of Feb.
    Me, my family and my friends have been going crazy on the colour choice as well as the technology package, and they all are loving it extremely. Each day from the day I got the car, I've been finding a reason to go on a drive. It was the best decision to go with this model and I dedicate a big part of my thanks to you and my friends who recommended this.
    Keep making such good relevant videos ❤

    Hi Sonduren, I more or less came to the same conclusion as you choice wise, though for me at greater cost as I worked for JLR for 38 years before retiring five years ago. My last few cars have all been Jaguars, for which I get a 22% discount, but I fell in love with the NX, I get mine in May, been on order since March 2022, so 14 months wait in the UK, I have ordered the NX 350h Takumi which is the top spec model in the UK, I wanted the heads up display and Mark Levinson, and digital rear view mirror, so that steered me towards the top spec model. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Thank you.

    I was considering the nx 350, the Acura RDX and the GV70. I decided to eliminate the Acura RDX since my wife drives one which we bought brand new in 2021 and it’s a fantastic vehicle. That left me with nx 350 and GV 70. I did my research for 1 year and ultimately went with the GV 70. I feel I got a lot more car for the money and I feel it’s also much better looking than nx 350. It’s a fantastic vehicle and I didn’t regret my decision. The nx 350 interior with that large awkward screen turned me off.

    Hi and thanks for your nx updates. I am also a Lexus owner of a 2019 GS350 FSport and am on a list for an NX350h. Now since I already own a performance product, I wanted a practical one with a luxury fit &finish. Unfortunately, the competition doesn't give us many options as they don't offer pure hybrids and even if they did, would you want to purchase outright, A Mercedes, Audi, BMW, or even a Genesis product that will most likely lead to expensive repairs after 5 years? I don't think so. Now I found it interesting to hear about the upcoming Mazda CX-70 which is upscale and will have 2 powertrains of which 1 of them is a plugin hybrid. I know it's not the same as a reg hybrid but the reason it sparks interest is that I believe the Mazda product to compete with Lexus in the reliability dept. I'm curious to find out if the CX-70 might be a better value than the lexus. If you are checking off luxury, fit&finish, performance and reliability for less money, we might have a winner.

    • @carswithsonduren
      @carswithsonduren  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m also curious about the CX-70 bucks from early pictures that I think I saw I wasn’t necessarily in love with the interior but let me take another look. I think you’re making the right choice with the NX350H. We just rolled over 4500 km now and are very happy with it.

    Great review. I got a 2022 NX350 with Premium package in Oct 22 (end of model year deal). Would have loved to get hybrid, but with $6K markup, couldn’t justify, especially since I was leasing, and will be turning it in in 3 years for a 2025 NX (hoping they will have an affordable PHEV version by then). Everything you said about the car is on point. Premium package striked the right balance between price and features. I’m a Lexus fanboy too…no shame in our game!

    The Genesis screen was small? Haha...biggest screen on the market at 14.5". The Lexus is 14 but the bottom quarter is dedicated to climate controls. Also found too many features embedded in the screen menus. I found the NX louder and harsher ride too. I went with Genesis.

      @Cars with Sonduren Eight months. I really do like it though someone crashed into me after 3 months and I've been working on getting parts and finishing the repairs ever since! New car parts are hard to get these days! Most of these are also having rear differential issues but they come to my place of work with another Genesis to drive, take my car and get the repairs done, then drive my car back when it is finished so that service is great. I have the 2.5T Prestige in Canada so it comes with 19" wheels and a HUD. The ride is super smooth and very quiet, which were my priorities. That's where I found it had the biggest advantage over the Lexus NX...the RX would be a closer comparison.

    Former BMW and Jaguar owner, I fell in love with and bought a 2022 GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige. Different strokes but Lexus wasn't even on my shopping list, styling inside and out just isn't my taste, to many unnecessary cuts and angles, and the grills lost me years ago. There is nothing but a variety of very good luxury compact SUVs, none is a bad choice, but the GV70 earned Motor Trends SUV of the year for a reason, and I love the huge difference between comfort mode and Sport+ which is downright rowdy, something I enjoy and the NX doesn't offer.

    I was in a '21 Toyota Mirai (a hydrogen electric hybrid) that had better interior than my uncle's RX450h so I was looking towards Lexus for my new car. After a ton of research and test drives of the NX, Q3/Q5, and GV70, I went with the Genesis. That car just wowed me in so many ways and is super fun to drive.
    Lexus has the edge on reliability, brand recognition, and resale value, but I guess I was a bit bored of their tech. The almost square display didn't do it for me either, but I have to say the color config of your car is beautiful. I wish I can get that combo in the GV70 (they had an amazing tan leather version in 2022, but it's no longer available).
    The hybrid engine in the NX is actually really good. That high mpg (vs 24 combined for GV70 2.5t) is nothing to scoff at. I already have another SUV so I was looking for something fun this time, kind of a weekend car I can drive more often. I looked at the Supra but it was too small and rough. For me, luxury and comfort are key in addition to performance. G70/G80 are pretty good, but the GV70 is very unique and my wife liked it much better so we went with that. It's been 3 weeks since I got the GV70 and I look forward to driving it everyday. I actually drive to work more because I want to drive the car 😂.

      My wife and I are on the same boat as you were. We've narrowed it down to the GV70 and the NX350H. Honestly, we wake up every other day with a different choice haha!! The GV70 is gorgeous inside out!! The only two thing that I didn't like about it was the noticeable turbo lag on the 2.5T we test drove and the potential depreciation hit it will likely take in 4-5 years time when I like to change my cars. The Lexus on the other hand, even being more expensive with the must have Luxury package, will almost definitely hold better resale value, incredible gas mileage, and an overall solid car. However, for the life of me I can't think why Lexus couldn't just make the NX another couple inches longer and wider... it's cramped!! Having said that, we will likely go for the NX350H at the end. Hope the wait time in Canada isn't ridiculous!

    Hey Sonduren. It’s a bit different here in Australia, specifically with Genesis. While no doubt a fantastic product, they just don’t have any market penetration. In each city I think there’s maybe 2 dealerships (if you’re lucky) and even then theyre located in shopping centres to try and get the foot traffic. In the general public’s eyes in Australia, they wont know who they are or that they even exist. The sales results are proving that too, despite us getting quite a lot of their models. In saying that, my partner (who’s not a car person at all) was recently looking for a new car and said to me, ‘I want a hybrid and I want a cream interior’. At the price we were looking at, the NX was the only option (yes I know there’s the XC60 and all the others). It’s planned to be a 10 year purchase, so I said you’d probably best to go with the Lexus, so an NX350h was what my partner went with. It’s a Sports Luxury (our version of the top trim), with the Palamino semi-aniline leather. The piano black console and real leather kinda give me nightmares, but I guess my partner will navigate that and learn from it over time. It was ordered in March 2022, with delivery stated as December 2022. I visited the dealer last week and he said it would now be ‘Some time this year’. Just insane delays. Apparently the Mark Levinson stereo is adding to the delays. Currently wait times on an NX here in Australia are 2 years for a 350h and 3 years for a 450h. I showed my partner your videos though and they’ve been helpful. Keep it up!! You have a natural presenting style

    • @carswithsonduren
      @carswithsonduren  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First, thanks Benny for the compliments! Glad the videos are helpful and more will come so make sure you’re subscribed of course :) interesting to hear than market dynamics in Australia, definitely sounds like a problem for them but beautiful cars none the less. It looks like what you want. It’s kind of exactly what we wanted and we’re ending up at the same conclusion but that’s disappointing to hear about such long wait times and delays. Unfortunately, a lot of this is out of their control, and I also heard the same thing about the Mark Levinson sound system. I hope it’s not gonna be an end of year thing for you both, I guess all you can do right now is play it by ear? But honestly, we are very happy with it and I think you will be as well. What colour did you get on the exterior?

    • @benny9075
      @benny9075 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dark grey. For you guys it’s Cloudburst Grey, for us they re-name it Sonic Chrome. Same with the interior… for yourselves it’s Palamino nuluxe/semi-aniline leather, for us it’s Hazel/Sumi Black. All identical options just named differently

    I believe that if you bought the Genesis gv70 you would have sold within a year! I absolutely fell in love with the thing for a few months until I started seeing them on the roads and in the parking lots. In traffic the exterior look so very plain and the rear quarter just disappears into the reflections of all the other vehicles and makes no sense to even look at.
    But the interior is where I have my problem... That retro look interior looked so fugly to me in person, and way to minimal and frankly dated as well. And when I looked at it through the windshield, that tablet just look like some kind of afterthought that was tacked on and frankly yes it was tacky. Genesis GV70 for me. Advanced model and 2023 because they drop some features in 2024! I control the screen from the console primarily, so reach is not a problem and the positioning helps keep your eyes in a split vision with the road. Landscape is significanly better! I like the looks of the NX until you get to the grill which somehow reminds me of the helmet "Predator" wore! 😆I haven't worried about resale value that much as I tend to drive a car until they are not worth much anyway. The German offerings are overpriced but give you a better driving dynamic and more prestigious feel. We all know no one does interiors and tech like the Germans. The Genesis lineup isn't available where I live in Europe. I have always liked Lexus but have to admit they are boring cars that are way too underpowered (they replaced the V6 with a 4 banger in the new RX). My thoughts on this, cause I was in a similar situation: Lexus NX is for me the weakest contestant, design is so underwhelming, inside and out. That Grill is just hilarious. Ok let me not dive into that because thats just a question of individual taste. Obviously people have different tastes and you really like the design, so thats good for you!
    Lexus doesn´t come with the prestige like the German brands - at least where I am from - but I like a car with understatement, therefore I went with the GV70. I was - like you - surprised of the wireless carplay situation. Here is why it didn`t bother me in the end: I - like most people - charge my Phone in the car. Now one might think that you will charge your phone wirelessly and therefore enjoy carplay wirelessly, but unfortunately those wireless chargers in most cars don´t really charge the phone but keep it in the same percentage, so you end up using a cable anyway, thus no real advantage in using wireless Carplay. I would love to know if the wireless charging in the Lexus is equally good as cable charging? In the GV70 its not!
    The Audi Q5 is a great car but hasn´t seen a major upgrade in a long time. It´s basically the same car as in 2017, still would prefer it over a Lexus NX anytime.
    Greetings!

      @@andresmattos7541 I honestly don’t understand why people say a Toyota as if it’s a insult. Being a Toyota means you have rock-solid reliability & low maintenance cost for years after warranty. What’s more, the resale value is through the roof compared to German counterparts. So yes, it’s a Toyota, which is why you should be buying one instead of any of the German manufacturers.

      Agreed Michael. I don’t think they are for old women and seniors either lmfao 😂
