    For all those watching this I thought I would share some valuable information. First thank you Steven for your efforts. There is a lot more to consider and in my eyes, not an even test. There are two huge factors that would make this a little subjective. A prop guard that both the LIFT & Waydoo had is a safe guard that ads a ton of drag under water, but is very safe and the only way I believe people should learn. The LIFT also has the option to remove the prop guard like the FOIL or FLITE but was not used in this case. You would 100% see a massive difference in run time. Not to mention the wing sizes are different again, the larger the wing the less power is used, longer ride time. HA wings are more efficient, less power used. Just some information for everyone watching that would drastically change the results of the rides.

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jmoney7233 The more time it takes you to get up on foil it is just battery energy getting used. A small wing sometimes someone may struggle more with it in the learning stages and a larger wing will help you pop right up on foil with a ton of LIFT at a slower speed so helps with a longer ride time. On the Lift foils if you take the shroud "Safety guard" off you can get up to 40% more ride time as it has so much drag under water.

    Thanks for the comparison! One thing I might add is that the Waydoo board seemed to be riding in the water in every video shot. Not sure how much that board was foiling throughout the duration of this test but that also plays a rather significant role in run time.

      I have a Waydoo and the battery lasts 45-50 mis max. Its pretty accurate. If you are from Waydoo stop advertising falsely that it lasts for 2 hrs. Don't get me wrong. I like the Waydoo and it is good for the money but don't take the piss with false advertising.

      The longest ride on my Waydoo as a 180 lb rider was 1 hr 10 min but that was with an upgraded prop on the larger explorer wing that gets in the air at low speeds. Typical ride times before the prop upgrade were 45-55 minutes tops so what they saw was in the normal range for them.

    I see this is the 1st gen waydoo flyer. You should test the new gen waydoo flyer 1 plus.. I always get between 1hr 35 to 1hr 45mins each session I fly.. Speed 12 to 14, Explorer wing, long mast, standard prop with rear prop guard removed but prop shroud still on. 🤟🏼

      Fliteboard wing is the cruiser 1100 and 290 stabilizer with 195 lbs rider and no prop guard.
      The Waydoo is using the larger explorer wing with 195 lbs rider and prop gaurd.
      Lift had the 200v2 with 190 rider and prop guard.
      And Foil had 250 high aspect wing with 205 lbs rider and no prop guard
      All batteries were their larger or extended options.
      Conditions were mostly calm water but pretty windy.

    I think the only one I would consider, and I'm shopping, would be the Foil. But still, for $10K I think the range is terrible. Don't think I'd drop that much on one of these unless you could fast charge from the car.
    Just looked at the Foil website. Where are they coming up with a 2.5 - 3 hour ride time? That's easily twice what you got on the extended battery. I can life with 3 hours. That probably boils down to full day of pretty hard riding between riding and taking a break here and there.

    How does ridding feel. Like the foil is way cheaper than the lift but is there a reason? Does the lift feel way better?

    • @JupSpot
      @JupSpot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are diffrences in both because of the board shape, I think lift rides better when "surfing" (keeping it down) because of the smooth edges and Foil rides better on foil because of the weight distribution. But that's about it.
      Honestly, the big reasons Foil is so much cheaper is because are we assemble it in the USA so saves a lot in shipping and tarrifs, we have a simpler and easier to Mass produce design which means less can go wrong and less parts to order, and we never had a monopoly on the price and are aiming for our goal for "an efoil for everyone" trying to bring the price down by mass producing what people want instead of trying to keep a image as a high end product only for yatchys.
      Let's put it this way, every person that has tried a Foil lesson with me and also tried a more expensive brand has ended up buying a Foil and been perplexed why the price diffrence is so much different.
      Would love to have you come out and try it! Give me a call if you have any other questions 561 283-5541

    • @yodadi00
      @yodadi00 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rode both. Loved the lift 4'9" board with 200 surf wing. But, being cheap, I bought the FoilX to save a couple grand. I have the extended battery and the 200HA wing. Big mistake. It was unrideable without more work than I wanted to spend. Had to kick in another 1K to buy the 250 wing, which although advertised as a HA wing, is not. It was much better, easier to ride but still much twitchier than the Lift with 200 surf wing. If I were just starting, I'd just pick up the Foil basic fiberglass board with the 165 standard wing or the 250 wing. Save a few bucks. For a guaranteed good experience, grab the lift3f with the 200 surf wing. I was carving on my first outing. Still not there on the foilx

    I saw tons of videos about efoils and their run time and I also feel the same that this is not a good test not even close to a valid comparison. For example I saw waydo runtime from 45 to 1.5 hours range, also for lift 50 to 1.5 hours range. If you really want to make a good test (and maybe not advertising FOIL) then you should test this with the same person, with the same wing size (ofc this is the hardest one), prop guard installed for all, speed (for example use all at the half of their max speed), same conditions, and not with "whatever equipment we had".
    Also another factor how much u foil with these, that should be also the same, so if u get up and down in every 5 min then it will be absolutely diff etc. Side note 5 kg weight massively impacts the battery life also. I am a bit disappointed watching this video (not about the foils but about the conditions/validity)

    • @MegaShiver
      @MegaShiver 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Watching again the video its kinda strange first waydoo battery with 23 min went to 7/10, then at the end the 2nd battery from 1h10 to 1h17 went down 9/10 to 6/10. Kinda suspicious to me. 23 min 3 bar vs 7 min 3 bar. Something is not right with the test.
      And yes I just bought a waydoo (not used it yet), I know "you get what you pay" but the ride time is strange for me for that waydoo what you used or how you used during test.

    • @JupSpot
      @JupSpot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, here is the comment that you though I deleted when you commented on my other video.
      Yes, I would love to do a video where I had all the same exact everything on all the boards. However, it is pretty tough to get them all together and different parts are expensive. This video was an amateur group of friends with their own boards. Therefore, it was just a fun excuse to get them all together and compare. They are not all going to but different parts just for the video.
      But I may try to do a video soon to compare my lift and Foil with the same rider, me. I was the heaviest rider and on the Foil. Also, the most experience so I fell less and was basically running it the whole time. So the Foil did have some major disadvantages.
      As for the waydoo, my friend said that was a brand new battery and actually the longest he has had it last. The second battery is his old one and he says it usually lasts 30 mins.
      Thanks for your input, I know it wasn't a perfect test and all boards are awesome!
      However, I am not hiding I am team Foil. I think its the best, that's why i am on their team!. I am very proud of Foil keeping up and put preforming boards that cost twice as much!

      @@JupSpot then apologize for my harsh comments :)
      can you let me know how your waydoo friends compared to you was using the board on foil? also wonder how did u use the boards on test? for example u tried to keep up the speed with the fastest one ? or how? just because if you go fast on lift or flite, then waydoo should set the speed to max so it will deplete the battery more, thats why i would test all the boards with half of their max speed

    • @MegaShiver
      @MegaShiver 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you want to see the best comparison then try to use waydoo with patrol (smaller wing, but not so efficient as the explorer but for the test its the equal one) and the rest with the max wing size (as far as I know thats kinda equals to each other on the other brands) then set speed to 50% for all controllers, go foil with the same person and see how long you can ride (range and min also will differ but very important to note those down also)
      i would try these setups when comparing:
      flite: cruiser 1800 - flite 500
      lift: 200 or 250 dunno exactly and for the back i have small info about which to use
      getfoil: 200 or 250 (maybe 200 is the closer to the patroler for waydoo)
      waydoo: patroler
      I am writing these from waydoo aspect coz they have the less wing choices (like 2 :) )
      after these you will see the most accurate comparison what you (we) can make to compare the boards
      and yes after that you can do the math which are good from price and which are good from quality or ride feeling

  • @jrussomann
    @jrussomann 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    After having an efoil for the past 9 months I’ve learned that ride time is very variable to the way you ride it. Rider weight is only one of those variables. Pitch control, foil size, prop guards, touch downs, time on the water before each takeoff, throttle settings and a number of other factors aren’t controlled for in this test. Interesting video but not a valid scientific result because of too many confounding unmeasured variables. One other thing that I learned.. Speaking for myself, I am usually ready to end my sessions long before the battery quits. Buyers should consider other factors in making a choice between these boards.

    • @JupSpot
      @JupSpot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, results would have been different if it was perfectly controlled. But this is what we had to work with with the uniqueopportunityto have them all together.
      Could have been a few mins different, but it's an objective fact that Foil has the biggest battery and almost half the cost.

  • @Coach_Rolando

    Nice try to compare but not so "controlled" test...greatly appreciated for sure.....There are too many "variables"..too many things to consider...1 Wing size and set up.. 2 Speed or power setting riding...3 Using the prop guard or not...4 How many times the rider is falling and "Taking off" on the foi(if rider is just cruising with out any falls it will last much longer)l...not mentioning the weight of the rider and so on. But as I said...nice try and greatly appreciated.
