    foil drive can be used to assist in many foiling sports: winging, surfing, suping, downwinding. it is a gateway to many foiling sports. it can also be used as an efoil to teach you foiling and help tweak and learn your gear.

    Don’t agree with the summary but a great comparison with well chosen categories. Would be good to do an updated version of this now with Gen 2 and TakeOff with water conditions being a consideration, such as someone who lives in the Mediterranean vs near a lake or Pacific Ocean etc

      @@JetSurfingNation Yea no problem. I think the summary was perfect for a certain type of user and also I am not sure that many will have the spare money to invest in one of the choices let alone both within a few years. I think now that the lines are more blurred with more powerful assist drives it becomes more of a comparison you can make. Back then it was either you need help foiling or you want an electric cruiser.

    Foildrive + windfoil sounds like a winner combo

    Great video, useful comparison, thanks. As experienced wing foilers my wife and I enjoy our foil assist plus (me when we get waves), my wife when it is flat and there is no wind. Cheaper purchase for us because we have plenty of foil boards and foils between us already and were lucky enough to purchase foil frive assist plus second hand. We have taught a number of complete beginners to foil using it.

    i like simplicity of efoil but the light weight of foildrive can be a winner long term!

    Отличное видео, и огромное спасибо за выводы, которые ты сделал в конце. Что для новичков, а что нет. А то я пока вообще ничего в этом не понимаю

    I have 18 months of experience with both and agree with pretty much all of your points. Foil Drive can also help you learn to SUP and Downwind which opens up even more time on foil.

    Thank you for sharing all this experience first hand.

    Nice Video! However, I got a serious workout with the Lift 4 the other day. Try carrying two extended range batteries at a time for 400m without stopping. Then going to back to make two more trips for each board! Don't forget the return trip. The whole time I'm thinking to myself "Who says eFoiling is not a workout?!?"

    Or … after a couple efoiling lessons you can learn how to wing foil under the power of the wind and the waves. Wing Foiling has a never ending learning curve and is so much fun. It makes surfing easier because you can use the sail as a crutch to help balance in the surf. I’m catching 50x the number of waves as the regular surfers because I can just catch up to the waves rather than wait around for the perfect wave.

    • @JetSurfingNation
      @JetSurfingNation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point. Wing foiling seems a lot of fun, all my friends do it. However as for me personally I don't like to be on the water at all in the stormy windy days, so kite surfing and wing foiling is just not for me. I normally look for days with low winds and clean waves. I am also too lazy to inflate the wing or kite, assemble the ropes and carry it all in the water, I prefer the "hands free" feeling of efoiling.

      @@JetSurfingNation I can see your point. I don't have access to real swell here in the Great Lakes in Chicago. All we get is wind swell and foiling is great on 0.5 - 1 meter swell. Most of my winging is done between 12 - 20 knots which isn't too rough. It's a thrill to feel the power of the wind in your hands. There's definitely a learning curve. I wish we had well shaped waves so that I could try wave surfing with the Foil Drive.

    My foil drive config: Appletree 36l board + lift foil 150 + foil drive = ~9.4kg
    I don't agree that foil drive isn't suitable for beginners or heavy weight riders. Try 2000cm2 foil wing with foil drive and you can enjoy it more time with just ~85% of power and slow foil speed. Also you can configure power of foil drive for kids, because efoils to powerful for them :) My 8 years old son(50 lbs) can efoil with foil drive with just 57% of engine power.

    • @JetSurfingNation
      @JetSurfingNation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi Maxim.. wow 9.4kg?? Including the battery?? How come it's so light? My 30L Liftboard+foildrive+axis mast and png1010 wing is 13.5kg .. and it's carbon. You must be very light weight rider to lift up on Lift 150 on 36 board?
      Good point about kids learning.

    • @Maksimvsed
      @Maksimvsed ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JetSurfingNation Appletree 36.8l without footstraps inserts is just 2.5kg, lift foil 150 with 72cm mast is 3.1kg. My weight is 75kg. But I prefer lift foil 300 for efoil, it is little heavier but you can use it more time. Lift 150 for kids :)
      Overall, for adults learning better use foil board with +40l size(120l for 80kg rider) or more with 2000cm2 low/med aspect wing, for kids learning large board 90-120l(where kids can easily stay without engine power) with 700-900cm2 wing

    I enjoy efoil on sea because you have a great feeling of freedom and you can go everywhere with it. But it is true that it can get boring on lake depending of the size of it.

    1st step: sell your house and start living under a bridge.
    2nd step: go through the list and try all the types of boards, foils and propellers...

  • @stanwoodman7663

    Your stance is too wide bro. And your so wrong about efoils. If you live on the ocean with waves ok those toys are fine but for the rest of the days in a lake an efoil rules . You just miss the point again and again,,,

    • @JetSurfingNation
      @JetSurfingNation  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Which point? I used to go to my lake with efoil but once you do original exploring, it get boring quickly after few months. The waves is where true fun is for me
