    Awesome video! :) Welldone. Really cool to get a proper roundup from someone who actually rode and tried all of these. I have a Flite Pro and also bought a Sifly E. Let me know if you ever co e to Copenhagen :D

      How do you rate the Sifly?

  • @isiglz
    @isiglz 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    Lift is better all around premium brand. Flite rides nose up, you need to figure out what shim to use to level it out. And makes a loud whining noise. Lift 4 pro is the best of the best

    • @boatsailmag
      @boatsailmag  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Lift 4 Pro is pretty awesome and there is a bit of nose up on the Flite which is useful on sharp turns, but the loud whining noise I don't recognize. Are you talking about the Fliteboard Pro?

    • @isiglz
      @isiglz 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@boatsailmag all of the flites make loud whining noises. It’s hard to ride next to them. And I never have issue making hard turns on the lift. They ride level to the water which is a great feeling. Way better than riding captain Morgan style

      Having ridden 2 lift boards this week, I tend to agree. Even the “beginner” model and foil I rode were extremely nice.

      I trained on the Lift 4 recently having a surf background. What a blast and such a quiet foil ride!. If I were to pull the trigger, I would get a Lift 4 4.9 size with a folding prop to ride rolling swells. I wonder how the Lift 4 compares to the Audi board which looks very high-tech and also state of the art? Same battery time? Weight difference ? Thanks for the review.

      Test rode the Lift and Fliteboard before buying the Fliteboard - reasons for choosing the Fliteboard - much simpler connection of power/control cables, I found the controller easier to use, the position of the motor/prop at the bottom of the mast meant less chance of losing power when the prop contacts the surface of the water when doing hard turns and/or riding down wind in choppy water.

      @@ZumFachwirt Hard to say but I personally purchased a SiFly Rider an so far, I'm very satisfied.
      Sifly pros based on my level of knowledge and without guarantee for any correctness:
      - raising player with financial power which very likely will exist for years
      - established local dealer and support structure (I live in Germany and they are located in Bulgaria)
      - strong battery with active management and intelligent power charger (riding time was till now just roughly 45 min with 20% left but support told me might get better with warmer weather)
      - EPP board which has great shape for touch downs
      - powerful engine and location of the engine next to the propeller
      - great app, functions and remote controller (sometimes, my board is not connecting perfectly to the app but for me that's a minor negative aspect)
      - already three different wings as well as stabs and Fliteboard wings / stabs can get utilized with a Sifly (not all but so far based on my experience all stabs and the Flyer 800)
      +
      great customer service which I contacted multiple times in the past
      Cons:
      - black EPP boad might get very warm in the sun, battery could face issues (not sure about Waydoo)
      - size of the board is quite large (Waydoo is as well large)
      - no folding prop available or similar solution (don't need it right now and I'm confident it will get developed in the future)
      - bag for wings and mast is way too large, inefficient and for me simply useless

      Hi there,
      Sorry I didn't see your message before now.
      I can see you already got a SiFly Rider, and seems to be happy about it? Did you get a lot of time on the boards?

    • @ASenseofCapital
      @ASenseofCapital 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You mean time overall or per session?
      Overall, I had 10 sessions since I've started beginning of March and so far, 0 issues. Performance is more than enough for me (speed of 30 - 35 km/h with gear 10 - 15 of 20) and ride time is roughly 1 hour under colder weather conditions (I guess more is possible when battery works in warmer conditions). Would buy it again.

    Thanks for the great video. Which board is most suitable to ride waves with?

    • @boatsailmag
      @boatsailmag  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks. It's not so much the board, but the prop rather. Folding props that can go Fliteboard and Lift systems allow the rider to release the throttle and reduce drag to fly on wave power alone. So, it's about what "build" you get or what extra accessories you have more than the board itself. The idea being that you use power to get into the wave. There are some attachable jets, foildrives, for regular foil boards, but there's more drag on those.

    Levelfoils with an internal Gyroscope to automatically balancing the board (there is a video where a dog is riding it , no joke) is not part of your test, which is a shame.... You should check it out...

      When I look at their website, it looks more like a concept than a board in production. But I could be mistaken, we'd love to test is out if the board is in production.

    @sylrider 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    It’s too bad that you are not really pushing the test on the time per board. Even your article gives a vague “up to 2h” for most boards which seem like a constructor feedback and not a real life test. This is certainly one of the main criteria for me and certainly plenty of other people. Speed test and ride quality would also be great to have a rating on.

    • @boatsailmag
      @boatsailmag  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I hear you, and we will try to update the articles with the data we have. We did the ride time test, but often we got different results, as factors like current, waves, and so on changed from test to test.
      We didn't do a speed test, as we didn't(and still don't) see top speed as a real factor when deciding between efoils to buy. Quality of riding, ride time, ease of set-up, etc. are much more important factors to look at.

    • @mikeb1039
      @mikeb1039 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      that's the norm. In large part because of the almost endless variables of rider weight, water conditions, how fast, HOW MUCH TIME ON FOIL VERSUS ON THE WATER, etc etc.
      I've personally gotten 1:40 on my Lift and also gotten right at 1 hr on the same battery with me riding.

      @boatsailmag  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Some of the new battery tech developments could also bring the price down a bit. Otherwise, you have Waydoo, Sifly Rider and the Flight Air coming in under $7,000. Still pricey, but difficult to see the Xiaomis of the world doing it much cheaper. Motorless foil boards aren't cheap either. The best thing would be for these companies to start offering some payment plans/financing.

    • @boatsailmag
      @boatsailmag  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Take a look at the foil boards--board, mast, wings only--and you'll see that they cost more than 2-grand. Add battery, engine, controller and all the software and wiring that integrates them and it's hard to see that it could be cheaper. The battery alone costs $1,500 usd if you buy an unproven knockoff.

    The explanation in this video seems biased and doesn't appear to provide accurate information.
    How can you say other products have good reviews when Lift is the best of the best?
    You haven't even properly listed the riding time and charging time for Lift.

    • @boatsailmag
      @boatsailmag  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Different battery options for each set mean a lot of specs to dish out. Lift is definitely one of the best but our experience includes people who actually love the Flite and wouldn't go for anything else, those that have a Vinga and love it because it uses the same battery as their Ravik, those that think it doesn't get any better than Aerofoils. There are also a few people I know who have the Flyer Plus and feel more comfortable on that after trying the others listed here. It seems Lift has the community with the most vociferous riders, on the other hand. Thanks for the comment.

    Lame… No conclusion, no real opinion, no real perspective… No overall winner, no best bang for your buck, no best value, no best for bigger riders or smaller riders… What you did manage to do is waste a lot of time. If you are going to do a comparison, do compare them, this isn’t a promo for each board… We can get promo videos from the makers… This was lame.

    • @boatsailmag
      @boatsailmag  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      We tried these and are giving you a general confirmation of what the makers are presenting, for the most part. The reality is, Tim, that without knowing your profile, there's just not a silver bullet platform that hits the mark for everyone. The market is split into people who wanna buy one for themselves and rental outfits that want something for a wide range of riders. If you see our other video about the best beginner board, there are also caveats about buying a board EXCLUSIVELY and ONLY for big riders. If you watch this video you'll also see that each efoil has wing and mast options that change the profile. And many brands are copying each other too.
      So, what's your profile, what do you want? Let us know and we can give you some specific suggestions.
