The 2024 Acura Integra Type-S is Fantastic Except for ONE Thing

  • Ever find that car that feels like it was made FOR YOU? Yeah, the 2024 #Acura Integra Type-S is that compact sport sedan for me. Well, there is one thing that I would have to change right away...
320 HP and 310 lb-ft come from a turbocharged K20C four-cylinder bellowing out of three exhaust tips, down to the ground through a six-speed manual, limited-slip differential and front-wheel drive.
Acura widened the track of the #IntegraTypeS over a regular #Integra, 3.5" up front and 1.9" out back, with fender flares to match. 265mm tires on 19x9.5" wheels sit under those flares. Adaptive dampers are standard, brakes are upsized with Brembo four-pots up front, and suspension is revised for quicker turn-in thanks to additional negative camber and a slightly bigger rear sway bar.
Inside, front seats get stiffer side bolsters and Type-S accents alongside a Type-S-specific shift knob. A 530-watt, 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D audio system pairs to wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.

Great POV! Acura did a great job on this one. I just looked at one recently and walked away quite impressed. The fit and finish (inside and out) was great and the manual transmission is best in class. 😎

Thanks for using my photo from the Dragon. A heated wheel is a dealer-installed option (as is an alcantara wheel). Note that the passenger seat is not powered and does not have lumbar settings, and I totally agree about the shift knob. Great review BTW--you do a FAR better job explaining what you're feeling behind the wheel than most TH-cam reviewers who deal in generalities.

Awesome video dude bro! The ELS has come a really long way... the early - late 00's systems had issues with blowing speakers even with normal sound output. I think they finally upgraded the cones to a better material (they outsourced the replacement parts to Pioneer iirc) and it made a massive difference.

Ah man you had focus ST…me too! And I just purchased the type S. Unfortunately my ST was written off but as far as fun factor are they compare able as I LOVED my ST.

Honestly I sold my FoST after 11 months, it was too harsh and too compromised as a daily driver given I already had a track car, too. As a single car to do it all, the appeal was definitely there. The Type-S is so fantastic though, congrats!

Ugh, I can watch and listen to you all day.
I own the non-Type S integra and was sad to see what they omitted feature-wise. But after hearing your take as far as the lack of features giving the car some personality, it made a little more sense to me.

    Hey, great video!
Just wanted to add that the heated steering wheel is available as a $400 option (not incl. labor). I’m considering that accessory myself.

Oop, thanks for the correction. Thought it was Canada-only for some reason.

    M2 is a 3.0L turbo 6 that’s also rwd, that’s why it’s 3800 lbs

It’s really a shame the Integra Type S got the “Dodge” stick on fender flares. The Type R has great looking bodywork down the sides… just not a fan of the big wing. Guess you can’t win ‘em all

$50-60k for this is absurd. Nobody is gonna buy it. For that kind of money there is a whole lot of other great and better options out there new and used.

Agree, but there are a ton of YOLO noobs with money to waste on dealer markups on an already overpriced luxury sedan with minimal luxury options. If this car appears in Fast & Furious, it will sell out for years to come🤣

I’m sorry but that rear stuck on fender looks hideous ruins the rest of the car

The car is probably awesome, but its still based on a Honda Civic. I cannot justify $50k on a car based on a Honda Civic. For $40k, I can sorta make a case.

52k msrp? At least 55k when it gets to the dealer. Optioned out hitting 60k easily. Thats BMW M3 used M4 territory. No awd. You can get a lot of great cars around 55k to 60k new and used that will leave the Acura in the dust. PS this dude absolutely loves Acura cars. He's not here to give a unbiased review that's for sure. For the money. In my opinion. Horrible value. Nothing special about 320hp amd 310 torgue.. front wheel drive only.. without SHAWD as well.

Hi! I've owned 12 BMWs and never once owned a Honda or Acura. Just really like this car and the other siblings it has. And we talk price in MSRP given that's what is a consistent number, even if it's "suggested" - if your dealer is installing unwanted add-ons and charging markup, you should find another who isn't.
SH-AWD is fantastic but would make the Type-S more dull. It's a preference thing but I don't believe every new car needs AWD; it's a marketing exercise to up the MSRP of cars while convincing people they will slide off the road if they dare drive in a light rain.
      Anyway, thanks for watching!

owned this and the new Type R,
negatives about the Type S: Junkie black plastic inside, shift knob, non bucket seats, no special interior bits that the Type R gets. Also Bose in the Type R is better than the teggys sound system hands down
And it’s built in Ohio 💀
