    I was happy to see this car. For $51k it's a no go for me, only 1 electric front seat, no cooled seats, no AC vents/charging ports in the back, hard touch plastic doors in back, no power lift hatch, prop rod hood plus the stuck on plastic pieces on rear doors.
    It sure does feel like a $30k Civic.

      Those are all things you don’t get on a VW GLI too but it’s a 35,000 Canadian I think around 27-29k USD. I feel like Acura gets precious and cuts the strangest corners or gets stingy. Either you are a luxury brand doing luxury things or you aren’t. So when they add engine power, excitement et’al, and forget all about the back seat occupants…then it shows they still can’t make a performance vehicle for anyone but just the driver. The single power seat thing is mind blowing to me.

    It’s a beautiful car, but the TLX Type-S is a much better deal when thinking about it objectively. It’s larger, has a smoother more throatier V6 engine, SH-AWD for handling, a fast and smooth shifting 10-Speed transmission, and many other niceties for a little more.

    • @wheats0276
      @wheats0276 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MrSamPhoenix I have to disagree with the thinking that performance of a TLX-S will be better. It's sort of proven that its not, just judging by civic type r metrics. AWD doesn't make a car "handle". Say for example you take a tested metric like C&D's published time of TLX-S as 13.6s @ 103mph and their Civic Type R time of 13.5s @ 106mph. The Type R is flat out the faster car in that metric. But certainly can't say the TLX will be more "nimble" because of AWD, the skidpad figures show more roadholding for the type R and better braking distances by a long shot. As far as "performance" is concerned the Integra Type S will be the "faster" car when tested through the everyday metrics and certainly will be faster on a road course or "back road", and I'd be willing to bet more fun on a back road.

    The reason why Acura didn't put a power lift hatch and moon roof is due to weight and price. For the exhaust to make it fit for a Type-R, you'll need to cut and weld the exhaust tips. It is about 3-5 inches longer than the Type-R.

    The biggest disappointment of the Acura Integra Type S are the seats...The Type R seats are absolutely perfect! They are gorgeous and extremely supportive yet supremely comfortable! They should make Integra Type R and just have those seats being the difference...they dont need to be in the wild red finish like in the Civic Type R but finished in Acura's material of choice whether its in leather or alcantara...and to be honest with that price increase they really should have put the same beautiful flat bottom perforated leather steering wheel they have in the TLX type S and RDX/MDX models.

Now, Type.S is bere same formula but listened to North America comments and now it should out sales the FK8 and expect it will sold kut soon. One thing I will add to Type S wish list is the similar Honda Log R software upgrade to current Type S (or it actually come with it now ? Your video did not show, I assume it dun have it). The paint color looks really nice and eye catching.
    This Integra Type R does pay homage to its predecessor from the late 1990s in so many ways with the exception of being a 4-door model. Acura didn’t compromise on this at all.
