Or, hear me out, the 17k difference in price may be a factor.
Thank you for all the information you shared and I enjoyed the video.
You’re welcome. Thanks you
If only the A-Spec had a little more power without modifications!! Overall a great comparison. The A-Spec for overall well roundedness while the Type-S is the powerful evil twin brother 😈🔥
100% agreed
Thanks for this video! I'm torn between the two. I got the fam so I might lean towards the A Spec and just do some body kit mods to make it look better on the outside.
You're welcome. A front lip makes the A Spec look a lot better. Wheels and tires too.
Thanks for the review
You're welcome
Good as a starting point, but it likely is better just to go to dealerships and see in person which you prefer.. if they had both. If I was actively considering one, A-spec being much cheaper makes that an easy choice. Lucky for me I can sit on the sidelines and wait. PS the crazy auto market likely makes it worth driving the extra distance to find such a dealership with a rare wide selection.
Aspec for the family man who wants a little fun but have the fam. I went with the aspec with tech and love it. Type S looks so cool and fun to drive though.
Just got a 2024 A-spec Tech 6M. I saw your earlier videos and appreciate the concerns raised, as they helped in my decision. This is my daily to replace an Audi A4, and my autocross/track car is a Miata. Some first impressions after 500 miles. The chassis is a great handler. Power is sufficient for a 1.5L. It's got impressive torque, with short gearing it's a fun drive. Being in a break-in period haven't had the opportunity to push it yet. Rev hang is super annoying, a Hondata tune is tempting for both eliminating this and extra hp/torque. The warranty issue holds me back from doing this. I wish the settings to disable nanny features would be retained, but things like speed limit warnings cannot be disabled fully - only triggered at 0, +5, +10mph over the speed limit. An easy way to disable VSC and TC would be great, instead of the pedal dance. The flaky infotainment issues cited in Que's video have seemed to be addressed in the new model year. I did find it strange that I lose my SiriusXM music when switching to CarPlay for using Waze or Maps. Mileage so far has been 32MPG average for just the first tank and a half of gas. I look forward to taking it to a track day, and autocross at some point. I think it will prove worthy in it's class, and will improve greatly with a set of Michelin Pilot 4S, or a more aggressive 200TW tire. Overall comfort is great, and I don't find the ambient noise much worse if at all than my Audi A4. The sound system is great, no complaints there. I paid -$1k under MSRP and wouldn't allow any add on's or window etching. Rates through Acura financing was 3.9/4.9%. With Civic Si's getting a premium, this car with all it offers was a great value for only a few thousand dollars more.
I’m glad you’re enjoying your Integra. I’m glad the videos helped. This is a great update to hear about the bugs that I experienced. These cars are amazing. Your first track is stellar. Mines was about 26 MPGs
This was a really cool video. When it comes time to replace my beloved 2012 Accord coupe, the decision is between new A-Spec Integra and a (certified pre-owned) 2021+ TLX, so seeing your notes about the A-Spec here was really helpful.
Edit: About the old-school Integras… they were never about max performance from the factory. I had a 1998 LS that had the non-VTEC motor - the engine was responsive, but that car was all about handling, not drag racing. Still one of the best handling cars I’ve ever driven.
I'm glad this was helpful. Ah I get it. I really want to drive some older Hondas
Seeing aspec and type s side by side makes me appreciate the type s even more lol
Your old Integra actually brought me to the channel. I recently picked up a 24 PWP Aspec Tech 6MT with the red interior. It's a great all around car for daily use 👍🏻
Although the new 1.5T w vtec is an amazing motor for being the size of a lawn mower engine 😝 It could use a little more power and tighter handling. My stock 10thgen Si coupe (.97G skidpad) was noticeably better around turns.
Having owned two GSRs and an RSX-S.. My first choice was the type S. It's just on another level 👍🏻 I could barely afford the Aspec Tech though 😝 Great video comparing the two!
Thanks a lot. I have to find an RSX to review. That would be great
@@QueTheChaotic It would be great to see a comparison between the old and new Type S 👍🏻
@@markm391I am curious what you paid for your Aspec Tech 6MT? Did you get any discount off of MSRP?
@@greatgrady7555 They gave me a slight discount under MSRP as the car was located online 👍🏻 Plus a really good trade in value. Up to that point, none of the dealers were willing to budge. Waiting to find the right deal paid off 👍🏻
I like the A Spec as a daily. A few small mods and you’re good to go
i love my aspec ofcoursethe type s way better but im happy with my aspec love it..dopeee videoo
Thanks a lot
I would purchase the A-Spec, although I absolutely love the Type S. Why? I only drive automatics. The Type S has no sunroof option available. The 1.5 turbo paired with Honda's CVT is surprisingly zippy and very smooth. The A-Spec is $10k cheaper than the Type-S even when specified wit the bodacious ELS sound system. Acura has hit a home run with the regenerated Integra. Acura has reclaimed their mojo.
I only wish Infiniti/Nissan could reclaim their magic wand.
Agreed. Nissan has their work cut out for them. They are axing the Titan and Maxima
Yeah I wish the Type S had the seats and seat memory that the Aspec has but other than that to me the Type S is winning big time, I feel like if the Type S had those feature it would blow out the Type R by far too.
I think it should blow the Type R out the water for how much it costs. It should at least have all the features as the A spec
@@QueTheChaotic Lol facts!!!
Que you hit the nail with that "rev hang". I absolutely hate it on my '24 ASpec. I'd like to get it fixed but don't know the first thing about the software mods or how to have someone adjust it. If you could enlighten me pls? Thx
Hondata and K Tuner has an interface that plugs into the OBD2 port. It's really easy to do. They will provide you with the files too. Or you can go to a performance shop and have them do it for you.
23 Aspec (+ Tech if in USA) owner here. I've recently read on a few posts that the rev hang is less noticeable when you turn rev match off. I have yet to test it myself but a few people said they noticed a difference. Tuning it is the other option, as Que mentioned but be careful with that as it may void your car's warranty as soon as you flash the ECU.
I am pretty sure the third seat delete in the back is due to the lower weight capacity of the car. It is only rated to ~650ish pounds while the ASpec is 800+ lbs. Edit: I looked up the actual numbers; the Apsec is rated to 850 pounds (385kg) and the Type S is rated to 680 pounds (308kg) (page 429 of the owner's manual) (170lb difference - enough for a 5th person and some wiggle room)
Well this makes sense.
What is the reason for that? Bigger engine but less weight capacity?!?!
This is a tough one for me. I could get a Aspec tech for $3000 under msrp with Costco auto. But my heart is set on a Type S that I’m still waiting for.
Rly? I have heard mixed things about costco auto.
@@serbeefheart9964. What kind of mixed feelings. You just make the request online and they select a dealer base on your location. I also had the chance of getting a Civic si when they had a $8500 mark up in my area. I could have use my Costco membership and got one for $300 under msrp. The dealer has to honor the discount despite having a mark up. Also if you make the purchase and fill out a survey they give you a 50% coupon for accessories.
Yes

@@QueTheChaotic Thank you good sir.
I’ve been waiting for someone to compare these two cars. Everyone always compares the Type-S to the Type-R! At 7:50 you talk about the back seat, I have my 3 kids with me in this car just enough to where I can’t have this car because they removed the middle! Come on, Acura! 😩
What was the trade in value you got for the aspec? I wondering if I should do the same lol
I got a little over 32k
I had a chance to get the Integra Type S today ironically but the dealership was low balling me only giving me $28k and I owe $33,000 on my Integra A-Spec while adding a $7500 market adjustment which is a turn off. So I will wait for one @ MSRP.
Good for you for not paying over MSRP. How many miles are on your aspec tech?
Smart move
@@greatgrady7555 I have about 18,000 miles. I had it ever since June of 2022.
I’m fighting Type S fulfills my needs the Type A has the better gas mileage
I was wondering for you was the infotainment faster then the aspec. The longest my system booted up 2 minutes waiting. Kinda annoying but not a deal breaker. Should be putting suspension work on the car this week hopefully.
What are you doing with the suspension?
@QueTheChaotic I'm doing a complete eibach suspension upgrade. Lowering springs, control arms, endlinks, rear sway bar. Also be upgrading the to the hybrid racing short throw shifter too.
@@joshuawilson7349 nice. That’s gonna be great
@QueTheChaotic Thank you, sir. Can't wait till you get the GR drifting in the snow. Which was one of the reasons I wanted one. I'll be moving to the south, so there is no need for awd.
Wow, that's crazy. I feel really irritated that my 2015 Civic Si takes 27 seconds to start playing music. I was hoping that the process would be faster after 8 years, but I guess not.
Type S missing some feature that’s on the A-spec is a disappointment move. No memory seat, no power passenger seat, no middle rear seat, no rear USB port, no sunroof.
Acura taken half of the luxury upgrades away from the integra
Those missing features are intentional to its purpose ….keep weight to a minimum. this is not a luxury car
@@rl6210 no memory seat button, no rear usb ports aren’t saving any noticeable weight. Besides, if you want to save weight, get a civic Type R. Acura is meant to be more luxurious.
The A-spec also has LED fog lights, I am not seeing them on the Type S. Am I mistaken?
Good catch. No fogs on the type S
It blows my mind how variable is the average mpg people are getting with the Aspec. You only averaged 28, but I've been averaging 33.5 on mine, and I haven't been feathering it that much. Just driving normally. I've also heard of people averaging 36 and 37, but that must be driving on comfort mode with the engine auto off and on. I can stand that, it's a bit unnerving that even the power sterring turns off each time you stop at a red light.
I have a 2 hr commute once a month and get 41mpg on the Aspec
Mixed driving really killed my MPGs. 75 mph with cruise on was like 33mpgs. 50 mph with cruise was 47 mpgs
I had a 2012 Civic Si. It was a lot more sparse than the Civic EX-L.
I characterized it that I was paying the extra for the engine and transmission and not the luxury features like the leather, dual climate control, power seats.
Same goes for the Type S. I’m paying for the engine, transmission, and design. It has more luxury than a Type R but options are luxury features vs motor. I’d go motor all day
Spot on
Ok, since you owned both, I did noticed the passenger princess seats is manual moving, no rear vents and charger port were a minor issue to me (have not deceived yet ) can you justify not having those features in the type s, I also seen only the driver gets the seats and not the passenger princess(cheaper) and I’m sure you can add memory seats, rear vents and charger eventually
Extra chargers would be welcome. I have to run a cable from the front to the back to charge a device. The manual passenger seat does;t bother me but power would be nice. It might be possible for the memory seats but i don't know if it would be worth the price.
@@QueTheChaotic I’m surprised it doesn’t have garage opener either!
If you only need a "Sporty" car, then get the A-Spec. But if like me, high performance is very important to you, then get the Type S "Sports" car.
As bad as the rev hang on this generation of Integra is, and as bad as it is on the 10th generation Civic Si, it's actually much worse on the 9th Generation Accord manual. I prefer the 9th Gen Accord to the 10th Gen Si in many ways, but the rev hang is pretty attrocious on some upshifts, especially 1-2 upshift, when the gearbox is cold. Kept the Accord tho, and got rid of the Civic.
I can't even image the rev hang being worse than what it is now. I flirted with those accords a lot

so is s type worth $15,000 more?
Nah. It’s a terrible value

I HATE what Acura did with the integra. The ASpec performance is piss poor and you can't even modify it. The Type S is just waaaay too overpriced and it's missing inexcusable features. In real world, out-the-door prices the Type-S is $30K more than Aspec.
Not 30k lol. Like 15k ish
@SIIKAP1 yeah they say MSRP is $52K. But in reality all TypeS are being sold at $62K and up. @que paid $65K or more for his.
@@djsir901 that’s just not true. I am in numerous integra groups on FB and many of the members are getting these at MSRP. Unlike the civic type R
@@SIIKAP1 You're right. Majority of them are selling the Type-S at MSRP. I was about to get mine at MSRP but like OP said, the price, especially per month, wasn't reasonable personally for me.
Well my dealer in West Michigan is selling the Type S at MSRP, so it's not true that EVERY dealer is charging over MSRP. My Honda dealer on the other hand quoted me a $15,000 mark-up for the Type-R.
The type s is not the “ luxury” version …..therefore why complain about no sunroof or rear seats?
Because every other Type S has it all. It’s not a Type R. Actual owners want the features
@@QueTheChaotic not me….sunroofs add weight and hurt structural integrity of vehicle
@@rl6210 if you care about weight, they made the type R. The Type S should have better seats and Log R if it’s a track car
