The Acura Integra Type S Is One of the Best New Cars Under $100,000

- Last year the Honda Civic Type R was a top contender for our Performance Car of the Year-as it deserved to be. It is one of the finest front-wheel-drive cars ever sold, it is an incredible performance bargain, overachieving on the track, and its back seat is big enough that you could pay for one by using it as an Uber.
Everything I didn’t like about the Civic Type R (and by everything, I mean “both things”) was addressed by the Acura Integra Type S, a slightly softer, slightly more luxurious version of the same basic package. It’s still got the best shifter south of six figures. It’s still got the performance and engagement chops, as countless comparisons have shown. And it’s comfortable enough to be used as a daily driver, even in places without perfect pavement. They added adjustable lumbar and Acura’s typically excellent ELS stereo as well.
By not fixing what wasn’t broken while improving on a few things for the adults in the room and putting a reasonable, enthusiast-friendly price on the window, Acura has delivered one of the best new cars on sale today for under $100,000. That’s why it’s a top contender for the 2024 Performance Car of the Year.

I think it would have been nice if they kept the Type R seats but in leather with alcantara inserts in the middle...
Plus added heated function to them
This was the way
Yeah the interior of this car is underwhelming for a “luxury” vehicle. It’s why I went with the Type R instead.
I don't wanna say the reason, Type s gets that chair from MDX cuz product planner is a decent size black dude. Sorry if you felt attacked, i'm just saying why it has those chairs from MDX.
@@BStudd1182 it was never intended to be a luxury vehicle. Just think of a Civic Type R that is more enjoyable in the streets.
Pictures and video don't do it justice. Looks amazing in person.
Surprised to hear Matt was satisfied with the stock seats. They're shared with the normal Integra and I find them to really lack lateral support on track. Also, can't wait to see what lap time Jethro put down! Wish I drove mine at Thunderhill West in stock form.
Agree but you also have to consider Matt is taller and heavier than you. Maybe the ITS better suits him.
Where can u see the lap time that jethro
Put down?
So many ppl complain about the ITS. I just say " Drive it " and then come back for any comment! It's a fukng joy to drive ✔️
The Elantra N has to be thrown in the best drivers cars under 50k category. Would love to see a head to head against one of these
Best new car south of a GT4 or 911
Add AWD and more sound insulation, then this would be the best daily on the market
it would also gain another 400lbs of weight
It’s called TLX Type S
@@touayaaj84 no manual unfortunately. That would have been amazing🥲
This car is what people were expecting the new Integra to be like upon debut.
Anybody who paid mark up for a CTR, must be sad
52k. Hello Vanguard, what index funds do you suggest I invest my 52k in.
lol index funds? You a boomer?
No just someone who worked for their money and wasn't handed money from daddy.@@manofculture9344
Under what?
Can you guys hire someone that actually has some racing experience, versus this guy regurgitateling other people's reviews?
This or a 2017 Corvette? This car is $65,000 Canadian dollars.
Depends, if its your only car then ITS. If not, Corvette all day.
Yup overpriced
Type S is for the street. Proceeds to track it.
Why it can't be tracked?
Has exactly the same components as the CTR. Same suspension, tires, brakes, wheels, engine, transmission, hardened chassis, etc.
Both post the same times when the tires are the same.
Watch guru ppl what kinna watch is that??
$51k is Supra territory. ITS is not worth $51k for a FWD car.
Supra is a coupe
Coupes are cheaper
🤯
@@Marbind it’s a civic platform.
So?
Is beefed up civic platform. All those improvements cost money.
@@touayaaj84
@Marbind who told you that?
@@IScoreUnderPressure4
Come on do people bother to think now?
Just look at the dimensions alone.
Add number of doors, metal used for being bigger and so on.
No disrespect, but FWD for that price is horrendous..
That is no track car. It’s front wheel drive to start. Road and track is hilarious
I didn’t know tree huggers knew cars
@@tommybobommy21 if you think this is a legitimate track car tells me all I need to know.
It would be a great car if the C5 and C6 Corvette didn’t get just as good of mileage and have more space in the back
All I see is sweaty arm hair.
A type S is under $100,000 so you’re telling me it’s only $99,999 awesome
1SS 1LE 6MT is less money and will annihilate this puny fwd 4 banger on any track.
There are many heavy V8 performance cars that would be faster Thant this Acura around a track, but would not be a sharp to drive. This car is for drivers wanting a responsive sharp handling car that is well built.
The camaro and the mustang are coupes. That alone make them cheaper.
Neither GM or Ford has a manual 4 door car that is better than the ITS for less money.
🤯
They’re not even in the same class, terrible comparison.
under.... 100k??
xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
omg it's so affordable
No the best car for under $100,000 is any of the Maybach
🤦♂
It's a few grand cheaper than a G42 M240, which is a better car in every category and makes a much better daily.
Everyone is gangsta with BMW until an out of warranty repair or service invoice shows up.
😂😂😂
By the way the M240 is a coupe with rear seats meant for decoration.
It’s a better 4-door? That’s part of the biggest benefits of this, the type r, golf r, and even the RS3
I traded in a G42 M240 for the ITS. Zero regrets. Much more engaging and fun. The M240 is great though.
I had an M240 and I felt it was one of the most disappointing cars I've driven. A very numb drive and not that exciting. Now drive a new G87 M2 and it is better. With that said took a test drive in the ITS and no question the Type S is more engaging and just fun to drive. One of my favorite daily's of all time was my 2004 Acura TL V6. Since 2008 Acura has been making such boring and uninspired stuff. ITS is finally a car worth considering. I may pair up with my M2 as my new weekend wingman.
@@4gosselin I have a 24 G87 M2 as well for the summer car. Its a bit better in turns and faster when doing 40 to 100 pulls. The M240xi is still quicker off the line due to x drive. It does make a good all season car. Idk you must have been driving it in comfort mode, which is very numb. In fact I used the Sport Individual option to set the suspension and steering in sport mode and engine and transmission into comfort. And I'm also referring to the G42 not F22 M240.
Sorry, this fool isn’t in the same league as a Pobst or Bobingdon, and the title is idiotic.
Who hurt you?
Sorry, that fool @aaaaachew isn't in the same league as @RawDoggingYourMom69 or @SeymourButts, and that comment is idiotic.
