- October is here and that means Halloween season is REALLY now in full swing! As promised, Gothic Homemaking is going all out on Halloween this year with videos on Halloween decor hunting, Halloween baking (including no-bake Halloween treats!) , Halloween cocktails and more! In this week's episode we go way out of our usual shopping range and go looking for Halloween home decor items in Mexico City!!! I think you'll be amazed at some of our finds!!!
In this video, I have the pleasure of being joined by my fiancé, Mayumi who beyond just being super awesome, helped tremendously to navigate our journey of Halloween decorations shopping in CDMX! I hope you will enjoy this episode and tune in, in the coming weeks as we go full tilt Halloween!

Tradition is very important. It helps to remind people of their culture in a way that a simple history book never could.
It's so neat to have many days to celebrate your dead relatives. Catholic traditions are not the same as many other churches. Many churchs left the Catholic church.

They're very expensive even in pesos! That astronaut statue's worth around 2,500 us dollars
It dependes....$1000 pesos is around $46 usd
1 Mexican Peso is about 4½ cents USD, or $22 Pesos is about $1 USD.
I round it to $20 Pesos so it is easier to calculate an approximate price in USD. For example, if an item is $123 Pesos, I round it to about $6 USD ( 123 ÷ 6 = 6 + some change); actually $123 Pesos would be exactly $5.58 USD, but I can't do that kind of math in my head!

when traveling to Mexico City In late Sept. I also have shopped at those stores ,, ,, BUT i went to Mexico Citys "Centro Histórico " WOW that is where to go shopping. All the blocks around Zocalo, Cathedral , Templo Mayor. and the prices are much lower. .
