- Greetings my fiendish friends! Today (10/27/22) I have the incredible honor of being featured in The New York Times style section where they did a story about my Gothic Homemaking series and called me the "Martha Stewart for Macabre Homemakers." It's a real honor and I'm completely humbled to have the years I've spent making this show recognized in this way!
I've been working on a spooky/Gothic/Halloween guide to my home town of New York City for years now! I shot a lot of the footage in this video before the pandemic! But then the lock down came and I had to stop. I was finally able to resume my work on it and I'm extremely happy to be able to share with you my favorite macabre, Gothic and Halloween places that you can visit year-round in Gotham City... plus The New York Times gave me the perfect image for the thumbnail (which I could have never dreamed I'd see when I first started shooting this episode two years ago!)

I'm from NYC & tbh am pretty much over it. It has changed a lot over the years & is INSANELY expensive. While my love affair w this place has just about ended, this video was very fun. However, please tell me you are going to cover the Village Halloween Parade. For anyone visiting NYC, dress up in your most creative costumes & walk in the parade. It is the best way to see it. It is still the one thing I love to do every year. The creativity is astounding! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! 🎃🎃🎃🎃

Hope we had these kind of stores in our country. It's like dream stores for me and my partner. We even want to have a traditional gothic themed wedding and probably "Stuck with you" as one of our songs haha

Thank you. I've been doing a personal photo project with includes Halloween-themed things near where I live in the East Village. I missed ALL of these shops that you show because I was only focused on street art. Now I want to find out these places off hours and go there to take so photos this week while Halloween is still fresh before they remove any extra decorations.

Too late! I went to NYC for Halloweens week, but my trip was already planned! I wished I watched this video earlier. Still, I managed to go to Goth renn, Beetle House, Sleepy Hollow and Phantom of the Opera at Broadway.
Phantom and Beetlejuice May be closing, but Sweeney Todd is returning soon.
Sadly our sweet Phantom and his beloved will be leaving us soon, but "the show must go on" in Australia.
I got a turtle skull and a badger for my collection at the evolution store!

Sigh...Jekyll and Hydes , The Slaughtered Lamb and even the Monster Cafe at Universal Studios Florida all gone now...
I am sure there are a few others that have closed in the last few years...sadly...we need more horror/haunted restaurants, cafes and bars!

Fantastic places to visit, so sad to hear The Slaughtered Lamb is gone, we’re planning a family visit to NY in the spring and really wanted to see it after watching your earlier feature on it - such a shame when unique places like that don’t make it :( But tonnes of other weird and wonderful ideas…just need to convince the family! About christine mcconnell she has amazing victorian gothic decore and she is an amazing artists u would really like her Voltaire not to mention she's so pretty and intelligent

These make me miss coming up to NYC so much. It's been... well, you know. Greenwood Cemetery seems to be stunningly well-preserved for a boneyard of the era; will have to see what they're up to next time we make it up there.

Hello from the Minne-Apple (Minneapolis, MN) feels like we have been losing most of our goth/macabre places. We still have Ground Zero and Hell's Kitchen but we might be losing Psycho Suzi's as the owner is retiring RIP St. Sabrina's and Betty Danger.
Been waiting for this video for years! So glad I held off on booking my trip to NY until after it came out! Thank you!!! Heading to WGW tomorrow hopefully you can come along next year.
