@@Cat-id1td Goths automatically recognize Voltaire's gift for creating Gothic decor. That doesn’t look like something from a Halloween haunt. But now non Goths are also starting to recognize Voltaire's talents.
So your gothic Martha Stewart's according the NY Times eh? Brilliant. When can we expect a line of Voltaire brand towels and table cloths haha. But I'm glad your getting seen by more main stream audiences. Maybe you might even get a Disney contract for a show. Stay spooky my friend.
Hope we had these kind of stores in our country. It's like dream stores for me and my partner. We even want to have a traditional gothic themed wedding and probably "Stuck with you" as one of our songs haha
Love The Young ones, great show. I hope to check out these stores one day. I love the Beetlehouse, omg Beetlejuice the musical love it!. Little shop of Horrors classic. New York is awesome, NY and Salem are on my list to visit.
I'm from NYC & tbh am pretty much over it. It has changed a lot over the years & is INSANELY expensive. While my love affair w this place has just about ended, this video was very fun. However, please tell me you are going to cover the Village Halloween Parade. For anyone visiting NYC, dress up in your most creative costumes & walk in the parade. It is the best way to see it. It is still the one thing I love to do every year. The creativity is astounding! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! 🎃🎃🎃🎃
Thank you. I've been doing a personal photo project with includes Halloween-themed things near where I live in the East Village. I missed ALL of these shops that you show because I was only focused on street art. Now I want to find out these places off hours and go there to take so photos this week while Halloween is still fresh before they remove any extra decorations.
Hey Voltaire and Mayumi. Those Shops look great to visit❤️💀🖤☠️💜. But I do love Colorful Psychedelic Art and Items❤️🧡💛💚💙💜. Btw I always wanted go to a Broadway Play❤️🎭.
Too late! I went to NYC for Halloweens week, but my trip was already planned! I wished I watched this video earlier. Still, I managed to go to Goth renn, Beetle House, Sleepy Hollow and Phantom of the Opera at Broadway.
Please do this for any other places you visit and find any spooky cool goth stuff to do! I have a trip planned back to the states and my list has just gotten longer! 🖤💜
Sigh...Jekyll and Hydes , The Slaughtered Lamb and even the Monster Cafe at Universal Studios Florida all gone now... I am sure there are a few others that have closed in the last few years...sadly...we need more horror/haunted restaurants, cafes and bars!
I loved watching this episode, especially when i saw the glass our Goth Lord was using, is the exact same one i have BECAUSE i went to TK Maxx (UK equivalent of TJ Maxx) on the Goth Lord's advise! Thank You!!
I saw this artical on my phone!! I was so happy to see you being recognized for your wonderful talents and your wonderfully macabre style! Stay spooky!
It’s amazing whole of stores and wines store. Yes lots of scare Halloween places are very fun and enjoy. I love lots of places I wish go to there take many pictures. 👍👍😊🤟🏾🙌🏽🖤💜🦇🎃📱
So many wonderful things to do there; I only wish I lived in NY. The cemetery sounds especially exciting. I’m looking forward to seeing more of you & Mayumi soon 💜🦇
I'm so happy you are doing more videos again :-) That is an excellent way of showing an old cemetery to people. Never saw anything like that here in Sweden. Are you looking in the opposite direction to where the rat and Orville seems to be, or is it only how it appears to the viewer 🤔 🙂
Ahhhh, to go to New York and visit all these places! Especially the cemetery one. Honest to God, I did a fangirl squeal at 13:12 when we saw Peter Steele. I love it when my two special interests collide.
Any time of year! Though they tend to get packed around Halloween ( Beetle house becomes nearly impossible to get a reservation at!) and Lilly's is only decked out in skeletons for the month of October
@@TheLairofVoltaire thank you so much for the information. There aren't stores like those over here... it's a bummer. I only hope they don't plan to close any time soon.
I just discovered you after reading the NY Times. Where have you been all my life??? Absolutely love your home decor videos, and this spooky NY one is fabulous. I am a new subscriber to your channel, and wish you much continued success!!
Shame phantom and beetejuice have gone off Broadway 😢😢😢 Would have loved to see beetlejuce on broadway and cafe de l'en fair has gone too 😭😭😭😭 Wanted to visit that with my partner when we go to NYC soon. Love you Voltaire 🥀🦇🦇
As someone who lives in UK I'm hoping one day I will be able to check out all these gorgeous places and thankyou for your great advice on fantastic shops

Fantastic places to visit, so sad to hear The Slaughtered Lamb is gone, we’re planning a family visit to NY in the spring and really wanted to see it after watching your earlier feature on it - such a shame when unique places like that don’t make it :( But tonnes of other weird and wonderful ideas…just need to convince the family! Thank you for the research - the Greenwood at night events look absolutely incredible 🖤
These make me miss coming up to NYC so much. It's been... well, you know. Greenwood Cemetery seems to be stunningly well-preserved for a boneyard of the era; will have to see what they're up to next time we make it up there.
This is great!!! I'll be visiting next summer on vacation, and need some places to visit besides the 9/11 memorial. I want to go to the absinthe bar and Gothic Ren in particular. Thank you so much. (Jan Griffiths).

Im not gonna lie i first learned about you when i was a kid playing adventure quest its crazy to think but i guess that game was better than one might expect for exposure
Hello from the Minne-Apple (Minneapolis, MN) feels like we have been losing most of our goth/macabre places. We still have Ground Zero and Hell's Kitchen but we might be losing Psycho Suzi's as the owner is retiring RIP St. Sabrina's and Betty Danger.
Absolutely awesome to see all of these places, now I really wish I could visit NYC. I do wonder though if the US also has the same issue that I run into a lot here in Sweden where the only place you can really get gothic clothing is a german based online company and it's just seems to be impossible to find anything that fit as someone that is on the heavier side of body types.
Been waiting for this video for years! So glad I held off on booking my trip to NY until after it came out! Thank you!!! Heading to WGW tomorrow hopefully you can come along next year.
About christine mcconnell she has amazing victorian gothic decore and she is an amazing artists u would really like her Voltaire not to mention she's so pretty and intelligent
The NY Times? That's so cool, though if I'm honest, I consider Christine McConnell the Martha Stewart sort...have you seen her stuff? Sheesh...way beyond my skill sets or budget. You are way better cus you are the Katie Brown (remember her? She was fab and fun) for Macabre Homemakers. YOu keep it real where we can actually have a hope of doing it too and not breaking the bank!
Voltaire singing Dr. Marten boots has made my day😆😆😆 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Wow! A Young Ones reference!

Was that a 'Young Ones' reference with the Dr Martens boots? Nice one. 😁
Yup!!! Love that show!
Same here, especially the 'Bambi' and 'Nasty' episodes.

Another great spooky tour (the other being your tour of Gothic Mexico City).
My husband and I hit Cafe de l'enfer Friday and WOW it is amazing. Definitely having birthday drinks there in December.
