Along the way, Mayumi and I take you with us on the last of our Halloween Home Decor Hunting trips to Joann Fabrics, Party City, Pottery Barn, TJMaxx and Marshalls where we find some great items for Halloween decorating year round as well as loads of helpful baking supplies for our upcoming Halloween baking episodes! Townsend's already carries things like functioning cauldrons and memento mori signet rings. So it wouldn't be too out of the realm of possibility.

One of my biggest regrets this year was not buying a yard or two of this one fabric I saw at Joann's, all the way back in August. It was called "Favorite Haunts", and it was a print styled like vintage travel stickers, with movie monsters on them. There was an Egypt sticker for the Mummy, and a London sticker with the Wolf-Man. There was even a sticker for Japan, with Godzilla on it - he's my favorite! The only reason I didn't buy any right then and there is because I wasn't sure what to do with it. I've been back to Joann's a couple times since, and haven't seen the fabric. And when I looked online, it's sold out absolutely *everywhere*. I'm so mad at myself for not getting some when I had the chance.
Those are the items you have to jump on before you miss them. Hope you find in out in the wild somewhere. 😁
@@monsterous6152 Thanks for the advice! I looked there, but most people were selling it in pieces less than a yard. However, you did inspire me to investigate further on the Internet, and I found a Joann's out of town that had some.

I got recommended a channel on TH-cam called Autumn Cozy and found a plethora of soothing autumn sounds paired with Autumn and Halloween themed visuals. I say this because right now because we all need some spooky themed soothing to help cope with the horrors (not the fun kind) happening in real life.
Yes sounds good decorating and DIY is helping me forget right now.

A local winery sells their black wine in a skeleton decanter during halloween and I always have to get one each year. I have so many bottles now that I keep a row of them in my kitchen filled with mundane things like dried beans, olive oil and salt.
Yes -- anything "art deco" was huge in the '20s and '30s. During the same time, anything "Egyptian" was huge, too.
King Tut's tomb was discovered in 1922, and afterward the "Egyptian" craze took off for about the next 10-15 years.
That explains all the snakes, beetles/scarabs, and mummy themes you were finding.
And let's not forget: H.P. Lovecraft was into it, too!

I got spoiled growing up cuz my parents always made sure to have some on hand for their cooking. Nowadays I have a hard time finding any. Too bad, its just amazing in fruit pies and jams!
I guess I never knew it was hard to find since I'm from a diverse urban metropolitan area🤷♀️
@@ladywoodelf lol yeah I grew up rural, so we could only find some while making special shopping trips to the city. Dad would just find a big jar of the stuff and we'd be set for the next few years. I got a rude awakening when I moved out and learned it was so hard to find! 😂

Cardamom is amazing with apple(and pumpkin)! I have a huge jar of it that I've had for years, when my store was getting rid of their bulk herbs and spices. I know you are only supposed to keep ground spices for a few months(which seems rather a short time to me), but this is still fragrant. And I hardly use it, since it's so rare in recipes. I usually use it in Indian food, and like I mentioned, in my apple tart and homemade pumpkin pie spice.
It's a sad shopping year due to all the circumstances :( Not only are there slim pickings, but I don't want to go out among people here because they're all being stupid and not being safe. I've honestly found most of my stuff to redo this year at the dollar store! You didn't need to add sugar to the cider, you two are sweet enough. Excuse me, I need to go get my insulin. ;)

its probably a long lasting lipstick that dries down. to take that off you need to use oil 😉

Haha it is Heartblack matte lip balm , it is nice but it does fall with the delicious warm mulled cider 🤷🏻♀️

As a mother, of a son that is 25 now and no matter what he does or dresses like, I could never stop loving him as long as he is happy I’m happy. He saved my life when he came into this world. I was in a very dark place at that time and in a very abusive marriage, but his birth change everything in my world. He was my world and still is. So as a mother I feel so bad for you that you went through all that you did and are still going through. If you ever need someone to listen, I’m here for you. ❤️

I put up a halloween tree. Black spruce with spooky hall mark decorations, mini plastic pumpkin buckets, purple and acid green ornaments and witchy black and white ribbon for a garland. I even use a plastic cauldron for the base.
Arrrrgh that screamer pumpkin made my misophonia go off too! You weren't kidding! 😄 *grabs aspirin*

Man, i've been a fan of yours since 2006-2007. I've listened to all your stuff so naturally i had to make the cider. I have to tell you it was THE BEST cider i think i've ever had in my 37 years. I took some to my parents because they make holiday cider every year and they loved it. I told them you made it and they said they were going to check out your music (This will be interesting) lol. You can bake the apples, Orange, and cinnamon sticks after and use it for potpourri. Just bake it on low untill it completely dried out and stick it in a dish with some cloves and anise.

I bought that crematorium sign in the spooky art Deco Halloween line at Joann's. I also bought that creepy ghost girl dancing at Party City for my haunted yard this year. I thought she was awesome. she was so life like in her movements.

Dollar tree has some cute Halloween Christmas ornaments! They come in sets of five, with three glittery black or purple ornaments, and two glittery eyeball ornaments!
