Very cool. I’ve made some sketches and will be doing this in the near future. Love the multiple pieces. Could fun to do with a single wood, or every piece a different wood out of scraps. Lots of possibilities! Thanks for the inspiration!
Really fun project. If I were to replicate it, I think I would turn the ball and handle with a "spacer" between them, and not remove that spacer until after final assembly. That should keep them lined up. It will of course make it more challenging to ensure the holes are properly in line...
That certainly has potential as a blooming brilliant idea! My brain is now whirling at an alarming rate! 🤔 get on with commissions or make another spinning 😵💫 top 🤣🤣🤣👍
What is this trickery - Oh wait a minute. Seems to have reduced in size sevaral times. The challenge now is to make one without all the little errors cus you have done it before and it will be "perfick". Love your quirky ideas. Fun piece but so difficult. Well done.
Yer, apparently it’s landed people quite suddenly in hospital with hard issues, others with major skin irritation. I like you don’t seem affected by any woods. I have however witnessed by niece break out in very red inflamed arms, when she was visiting as a young girl and I gave her the soft furry end of a banksia nut to play with 😮
Consider me impressed. I had no idea exactly what it was until the end.
Glad to see a new video from you.
Thanks Ben, good to be filming and editing again. These short videos take a while to film and edit, it’s nice to get your lovely comment 😁😁😁
What a creative idea 👌
Thank you! Are you going to make one?
@@WoodWithD Now that you mentioned it, possibly. I just don't know when 😊
Definitely made me smile. Love it!

Thank you Miss Tee 🤗🤗🤗 You should have a go at making one 👍👍👍
Nice! But don't go making any wagon wheels 😂
Why?
@@WoodWithD You'd have a serious wobble 😆
@@Alien937 oh! Like wheels for wagons! I thought you meant like the chocolate covered biscuit thing with jam and cream in it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@WoodWithD Behave 🙄
@@Alien937 genuinely! That why I was like ‘Why?’!
Great video Dick. Love your projects an narration.
Hey Craig! Thanks mate 👍👍👍🤩
Ooh err that blew my mind with the design, very clever and luv how it spins, amazing! 🤩
Awww, thanks sis - love you 🥰

Looks really cool.
I'm thinking maybe a thinner dowel, though maybe. Obviously, not being too thin for it flexing.
You gonna have a go at making one?
I would if i could but unfortunately I don't have a lathe.
@@stevecollins9288 are you going to get one? One day?
Maybe.
I was looking at one b4 but then I updated my scrollsaw and thicknesser. Sure I will in time. 😊
I'm so impressed that your carving tools don't get caught in those indents on exclamation point as you turn it.
It has happened, a long time ago, so it’s just about knowing the limits, it’s not pretty if you go over the limit 😩

Errors?!? Me?!? Neverrrrrrrr! 🤣🤣🤣😁
Fantastic. It could have been a tensegrity structure too.😜
just kidding. very nice and different
Possibly! Nah, they are true magic! Might have said this before, but love your name Dances with aardvarks 🤩🤣🤗
Thanks. I'm enjoying your content.
@@danceswithaardvarks3284 that is my intent 😇😇😇
Would it be sacrilige to suggest using lucite instead of wood for the dowels? I feel like it would help sell the illusion
Not at all, clear material could be cooler, I was just using what I had to hand to make what I fancied having a go at 😁😁😁
I made some things out of yew I didn't know people were allergic to it, every day is a school day.

Also we'd love to see you guys but our house is currently half destroyed and all our games are in storage 😩
Big refurbishment?
@@WoodWithD insofar as Thames Water flooded our ground floor, sure, let's call it that
@@cass_p oh f*ck! They not put you in alternative accommodation?
@@WoodWithD Nah - it would have been too difficult with the critters. We're just living upstairs
