    Great video but it doesn't make sense that your comparing a camera that is around $250-400 to another that is 2,900 dollars. It's an unfair comparison. Especially when the t5i came out in 2013 while the Eos 5 came out in 2018. I do agree that the t5i shouldn't be used for professional work. It should be used as a beginner camera or camera for personal use.

    I bought my T5i in 2013. It's now 2024. The shutter button on mine (and others') jams/won't depress now, and has in the past. I took it to a camera repairman, and he couldn't find anything wrong with it. Doing some internet research, it seems all you can do is use the live view and the touch screen. I did take 5 photography classes in a filmmaking course, but I'm not a pro.

    The T5/T5i are great cameras for static photos. The only downfall is the low light abilities and movement. It can't handle a lot of motion for video, so slow steady movements only. As for light.. ehh.. You can always buy a nice wide aperture prime lens for it, that would help a lot. But it's iso is pretty "meh". It's a fantastic learner's camera though, the best results you can get out of it are going to be manual adjustments. It forces you to "get good".. Honestly think the guy who made this video was spoiled by high end cameras and is misjudging the Rebel, its an amazing entry level camera to this day.

    • @TheWillTran
      @TheWillTran  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The hard truth is this man, when it comes to photography and videography, all equipment is expensive and you get what you pay for. You won't be able to get good pictures without good equipment. No, equipment isn't everything, but it does play a big factor in the quality that you get.
      If you want good low light, get yourself a lens with a low aperture (preferably f2.8) and a nice full frame sensor camera, not like the Canon t5i which has an APS-C sensor.
      As for the T5i, I'm gonna release a new video following up, so ask as many questions as you can!

    Question for you man.
    So this year I've taken my film making a lot more serious and started to use my gimbal to get more cinematic shots etc.
    After a few shoots already, I feel as if its time to move on from my T5i...
    Still consider myself a rookie but I'm debating on getting the Sony A7III
    Question would be, you think I should just go for the upgrade & not look back or you think I should master the t5i... my concern is that I've always used it for as you said, simple youtube vids.. but this year I've been doing different types of projects such as music videos, product promotion and even a piano course... time for the A7iii ?!
    Haha curious to hear your thoughts and great vid.

    • @TheWillTran
      @TheWillTran  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      From what I'm hearing is that you are wanting to go professional and make some cash. Which in this case, my answer is an absolute resounding get the new camera and don't look back. The T5i is not good enough for professional work. You gotta get the good stuff, to make the good stuff.
      Speaking of courses...Well, you may see something from me in terms of that ;)

    When I'm filming, my t5i tell me movie recording has been stopped automatically, what does this mean?

    • @TheWillTran
      @TheWillTran  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can mean several things.
      1) Your camera may be overheating
      2) Your SD Card doesn't have a fast enough write speed.
      3) Your card may be full
      Those are the main three things that I can think of.
      I'd say that you'd probably fix that problem really fast if you get yourself an SD Card with a faster write speed.

    Is it really "fair" to compare a camera with an APS-C Sensor from 2013 and a FullFrame mirrorless of late 2018? Or does it really make Sense!? Absolutly NOT. The wider angle only depends in FullFrame vs APS-C! And modern APS-C kameras like the 90D allow much higher ISO. This video only means "content " but it's no help at all to decide wether the camera is good after the years or not.

    The T3i blows T5i out of the water in regards to handling noise and low light for photos and video and T3i has the most intuitive layout I have ever used,it's just an ease no b/s camera that just lets you focus on your photos and not your settings.I know the diffrence because I owned both,the T5i is a chore and not fun to use.

    The t5i is a great little camera, using it for TH-cam is fine when you have some nice lights to help it along. 1080p 24fps is more than enough for basic work, most TH-cam videos are filmed in 24fps anyway.
    Get a great lens for it and you are golden, you have FD lenses you can adapt to it also Vintage lenses you can also adapt to it. The biggest thing with the t5i is the ability to install magic latern and get 2.5k RAW footage to edit can take this camera to the next level for cheap.
    Not to mention with Magic Latern you will also get access to a bunch of new things like focus peaking as well. For my TH-cam use, I use both the Sony a6400 and Canon t5i, also consider the t5i for a cheap webcam if you plan on streaming ^_^.
