How to make Cinematic YouTube Videos with ANY Camera

  • In this video I will show you how to make cinematic TH-cam Videos with any cheap camera (Canon Rebel T3i e.g.) I will cover lighting setups and camera settings.
Pimp up your boring TH-cam Home Studio and let it look like a pro Studio with this cinematic lighting setup and camera settings.
Most important for cinematic Videos is lighting - but befor you can start setup any light - the camera settings must be in the right spot.
So I will show you how to set up you camera or smartphone and how to make cinematic youtube videos with an easy cinematic lighting setup you can easily adapt for your TH-cam videos.
I am using an old cheap Canon Camera.
The Canon T3i with Magic Lantern is still a cheap beginner camera for TH-cam and other content. It's a cheap beginner camera for under 200$ and you have access to all cinematic settings you need for filming. And in my opinion it's THE best cheap camera in 2022!
I am a True Canon Rebel T3i lover :D But there are also lots of other cheap camera for youtube videos or beginner filmmakers.
To make your Canon T3i video settings even more cinematic you can take a look at Magic Lantern: www.magiclantern.fm
It will make your DSLR make so much more cinematic!
BUT Magic Lantern is a third party tool for Canon cameras to make a cinema camera monster out of your cam. BUT CAUTION: It may brick your camera - so do it on your own risk!

It's so wild how the T3i looks more like a soft, pre-2000's Hollywood movie while the Sony looks like the typical super-sharp talking head TH-cam video.

Thank you so much for this. I bought a T3i during 2021 lockdown to make guitar videos and I struggled so much to get the quality I just learned from this video. The more and more stuff I bought, cables + softbox etc, the more frustrated I found myself getting and ended up not picking my guitar up again for 3 months 😢 I picked the camera back up again recently, determined to figure it out finally and this video really drove it home for me. Iv finally gotten the quality I wanted out of the T3i. Honestly thank you so much. Now I can start planning buying a better camera that iv ‘completed’ this camera 😅

I am so, so pleased with what you discussed in this video and how you discussed it, it was beautifullly organized and clear, and the results were fantastic. I have the exact camera as well, and I'm applying everything you taught right now! I think the sharpness of the Sony looked less "film-like" due to the softness of earlier film, so that this camera ended up possibly looking better in some ways to my eye, or at least more cinematic and like older films. I would love to learn more like this from you about this and other cameras and how to get the "film look" using all kinds of equipment, phone cameras, the DJI Osmo (and OSMO+), how to use all these things, free color correction software and how to use it, free editing software, whatever you may be familiar with, particularly everything to master cinematography from what you've learned over the years, studied, and put into practice, and things you learned from experience which people hadn't demonstrated to you or taught you. I'd love to be able to use the cheapest and oldest sorts of digital equipment in order to make cinematic looking scenes, photos, and videos!
