Gotta say that this has been the most thorough & informative review on this camera to date & it's now 2017 lol...Everyone else leaves several important facts out. I'm buying this lil sucker!!!!!!!...Thx!
You give the best reviews....thank you. I just bought this camera for my videos and I am hoping for the best...I'm concerned now I can't add a mic...oh wait...you just showed it...I love you
I did! For my video right now I am using a Canon SX530 and when the light is right it's acceptable...but nothing like a real DSLR. It should arrive for me the end of this week...I'm excited. xxoo new sub here...
My neighbor got this camera from her brother that died. She is way over her head when using this camera to it's fullest use. Since it is older and used wonder how much I should offer to buy it from her.
I would like to thank you so much for making this excellent video. It is indeed very nice and neat and I give you a lot of credit for it. I have seen other videos but not nearly as good as this one. Thanks again brother.
+Jamie Lynch Glad it helped. Our current pick for the best video quality from a DSLR-like camera is the new Panasonic G7. That camera offers you the option of high quality 4K video and great still pictures at a very affordable price point. Here is the link to that camera: amzn.to/1Pe9NKM
I really enjoyed this review later on in time I'm definitely buying this camera it looks fab, also, what is the best mic that you have used for this camera since I want to do vlogging?
Super super helpful review! I've been trying to decide on if I want to settle and get the Canon t5 for now, because it's cheaper or if I just want to say screw it and go straight for this camera, which I'm going to eventually be updating to something like this when I can. I think I'm just going to go with this one, thanks so much for the super helpful review! :)
+WeedBeBestBudz Thanks. Glad it helped. And good choice with the T5i. You can also check out our review of the Canon T5: th-cam.com/video/f1v7B30YD-A/w-d-xo.html
I found the review very helpful and detailed, but I do still have 3 questions: 1: Is it possible to use the flipped out screen at the same time as the external mic? It seems like it would hide or block it. 2: In general, in between how much time does the battery camera works? 3: Can you adjust without other lenses the luminosity of what you're filming? (3:28 I'm not sure if it's the screen or what you shoot that changes) I ask that last question because I have a greenscreen and my actual camera tends to focus the luminosity on the greenscreen, making me pale as a ghost. Thank you to anyone who'll answer me!
Would you recommend this for a lot of close-up videos? Like, working with clay and trying to zoom-in and maintain a high quality picture while zoomed in?
was gonna buy the t7i then I found this! i did buy this one. Certainly much cheaper than the t71, and I know I am going to be happy with this, my first major camera buy. Only thing, slow mo appeals to me, and being new to the terminology, wasn't sure if that was mentioned. Thanks
Excellent review and the emphasis on the external mic input was what I was looking for. Just a quick question if I may? The camera shoots at 720P 60fps and 1080P 30fps but your TH-cam video is going up to 1080P 60fps which I like a lot. Which camera are you using to shoot this particular video ? Many thanks
I used a camcorder, the Panasonic HCV 700. That camera has been discontinued. However, it does shoot 1080p at 60fps. This is our review of that camera: th-cam.com/video/iyhsP6TiioE/w-d-xo.html
ReviewLamp.com OK thanks very much for the prompt reply. I am willing to spend upto £500 for a camera which has 1. Mic input 2. Max 1080P 60fps output Would you be able to suggest or recommend a model please? I don't mind whether it's a DSLR or a camcorder. As long as it has a decent video quality with continuous auto focus I am more then happy as I will be shooting videos for my TH-cam channel. Thanks very much again. Cheers
Hmmm...I still think the Lumix FZ-1000 is a far better way to go in this price range. The zoom lens is great, plus the onboard microphone is superb and it takes an external mic as well. It also shoots 4K and, because it doesn't have a mirror, shoots vibration free, so it is difficult to beat.
It all depends on how good you are at pulling focus manually. Most film makers pull focus manually. But for something like shooting News or sporting events, pulling manual focus can become very annoying.
I was hoping to get this camera for making videos but you mention it wasn't good for run and gun shooting. what would be a good dslr for run and gun shooting.
+Jayla Brown We currently recommend the Canon EF 17-40mm F4L lens: amzn.to/1HO1kPm Its a comparatively affordable zoom lens that is sharp and produces great video quality.
+ReviewLamp.com thanks for the reply! Someone recommend me this lens www.amazon.com/Includes-Manufacturer-Accessories-Microfiber-Cleaning/dp/B00X8JRIGE which one would you recommend for me the one you just suggested or that lens?
+ReviewLamp.com They are also very different lenses. The Sigma is a fixed zoom prime lens while the Canon is a more versatile zoom lens. They are meant for very different shooting styles. The Canon 17-40 is still more versatile as a general purpose lens.
Have you ever had any overheating issues with this camera? I will be using it for weddings as a stationary camera to make documentary style videos, so will be recording up to half hour at a time (ceremony) especially. What are your suggestions? Thank you kindly.
@@Reviewlamp Ive been watching reviews on the T2i and after half hour video recording a overheating sensor comes on the shuts the camera down automatically.. This would be terrible to happen in a wedding ceremony haha. Hoping the T5i doesn't encounter the same issue. Thanks again!
