      Thanks a lot!
      One question - context: I want to offer this camera to my nephiew who's a young total noob with photography (apertures, focal length etc are like an extra-terrestrial language for him... yet), but he would like to get into it more seriously - he's currently using his mobile phone, but drains it too often for his needs since he takes pictures like a rabbit, almost every time he sees something visually interesting).
      The question: does the T8i also has some "menu for noobs" mode explaining the controls etc., like the SL3?

    • @HawkFest
      @HawkFest 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can the camera be controlled via Wifi along some mobile/PC app (afor adjustments and, most importantly, taking shots)?

      You said it was weather sealed. Where did you get that info from.?

  • @joeygwood

    I'd go with a T8i over an M50 MKII. Better ergonomics and physical controls, better battery life, side SD card slot, and it natively accepts EF and EF-S lenses. There aren't many EF-M lenses to begin with, and while the adapter does give you more options, the M50 doesn't pair well with bigger lenses because of the awkward balance. If all you're using the camera for is live streaming and shooting talking head videos, then I'd get the M50 MKII and the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 and call it a day. If you're actually getting into photography and/or videography then go with the T8i.

    • @joeygwood
      @joeygwood 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Aj-me8mo If you're just shooting talking head videos and you don't already have some nice EF/EF-S lenses, then you should go with the Canon M50 MKII and the Sigma 16mm f/1.4. If you actually plan on holding the camera while you use it, go with the Canon T8i and 17-55mm f/2.8.

    When talking about the 1.7x crop in the 4K, you forgot to mention that it already has a 1.6x crop since it’s an aps-c camera. That makes for even more intense cropping.

    • @riversheppherd121
      @riversheppherd121 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don’t consider the apsc a crop. Because I don’t feel full frame is the standard . Most people don’t buy full frame or afford full frame

    • @malikkelly
      @malikkelly 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't think the 1.7x crop is 1.7x plus the 1.6x it think when shooting 4k it's just .1x more cropped in

    Hello I have a question, so I have this t8i, I’ve had it for about a year and it’s great I have no real complaints with it overall but I am curious would a canon 5dmk4 be worth investing in if I wanted a few more perks and something a little more on the “professional” side and less “entry level” or are the stats so minimal that sticking with the t8i would be my best option, i just love the lenses I have currently so wanted to stick with Ef mount

    Hi Bro, Truly a nice content. I liked it. I am a novice for the photography. I don't want to by a cheap model but wanted something medium range to start the photography. which camera you suggest. I have compared canon T8i with other versions such as EOS4000D, EOS2000d, EOS800D and I found this one is much better. What are you opinions on this? I also got few recommendations for Nikon D7500, so should I stick with Canon which is my personal choice or should I go with Nikon?

    Hi!!!! I've been considering buying this camera and it was quite fortunate that you mentioned the Canon M50s as I work with two of them. They're solid alright, but there is one very annoying issue with cameras in NZ which is finding camera couplers that will fit the Canon M50s. I'm a complete beginner so I won't be editing photos or videos anytime soon. I was considering this camera or possibly the 90D (but it's double the price) I don't think I need something as robust as the 90D since I am a beginner and I'm not sure I'll utilize everything.

      I just bought the m50 yesterday from Best Buy because it’s on sale for $499 but it feels too small on my hands. Was testing it for about 2 hours and most likely going to exchange it for the t8i.

    Hey man great video! I recently just got the T8i, I wanted a dslr for reviews and just talking to my subscribers, I do alot of gopro stuff because I'm an arborist and well.. its tough to climb trees with a dslr 😆 anyway do you think the kit lense will be sufficient in tripod environments? Thanks

      @TechThroughTheLens  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im not sure i understand the question. but if you have your camera on a tripod it should be fine regardless of the lens

      As I mentioned in the review if you want a DSLR style body because they are robust and have this classic feel. Get the canon t8i. But if you just want a canon camera, I would get the Canon m50
