I think Deco could have potential if Angle Shooter was buffed to be a decent sub. It already has combo potential with the main weapon and can be used to poke backliners and anyone outside of Slosher’s range. It’s just currently too difficult to consistently pull off and the sub is in general weak as both a poking tool and location tool.
I personally think Angle Shooter isn't as bad as people say it is and while it could use another buff or two, it's not as bad as Toxic Mist which can basically be negated by a squid roll and also doesn't paint
@@frostpvpmc I had the idea of the Angle Shooter's trail dealing damage too, like if a direct hit is 40 and the trail marks enemies and deals 30 damage
As a Slosher main from Day 1 if it’s release in Splatoon 1, this was an amazing trip down memory lane. I do want to say though that vSlosh wasn’t considered very good at the start of splat2 since tenta missiles hadn’t been buffed yet (and people haven’t figured out to use it yet). Other than that this was an amazing video keep up the great work!
the slosher class has been the most well balanced class across all games imo. burst bomb slosher is op but at least it was only in the first game and that was its only broken kit
Splatoon2 Slosher was probably one of the most consistent decent weapons. All three had meta uses at some point in Splat2's lifespan, and offered unique playstyles. The three kits lived together in harmony, until one day the patch nation attacked and wiped out the Deco Nation.
As someone who has played primarily slosher (basically a 1 trick) ive learned that the pattern for all the kits is vanilla-displacment/ combo potential deco-agro spacetaking but never "good" soda-creative kit always finding a way to be diffrent cant wait for soda slosher and am hoping for torpedo/tacticooler since it would finally be a slosher that can be a support ( none have ever been a support focused)
After maining Custom Range Blaster in Splat1 and since there was no range at launch of Splat2, I played a lot of Slosher and it quickly became my most used weapon in Splat2. Your title is spot on since the base weapon and most kits are really good but at least when I've played the game, there's always been a different slosher(machine or tri) or other weapon that is more favorable or meta even though I prefer the Slosher. Great video! Also, I was shocked when I saw myself in the footage. 😂 The Saltspray game starting at 3:34 playing with Unity.
Yo I loved this video! But I have to say that Slosher Deco is slept on. It’s definitely outclassed by the other Zipcaster weapons, but it’s incredibly fun to play once you put in the work to learn how to make the kit work. Definitely has its niches.

This video helped me realize why Slosher was my most consistently used weapon in 2 and why I honestly don't have quite as much fun with it in this game and haven't used it awhile: the meta and map design. Also my other favorite weapon class the Splatlings just kept getting nerfed in 2 while in 3 they got a lot of indirect buffs and are pretty good in the meta right now which is why I've switched to more of a backline player w/ Ballpoint (this thing better get a beakon kit in Season 4), Heavy (this thing better get a wall kit in Season 4), Tri Stringer (this thing better get a beakon or wall kit in Season 4), and Explo (if you couldn't tell all of the weapons I like play would work great w/ beakons, especially Explo as beakon Explo is my most wanted weapon kit in the game & as a Ballpoint main that's saying something).

I’ve been playing slosher since… well I first mained it in Splatoon 1, although Splatoon 2 was already out at that point, so this video actually did clarify stuff I was late to the party on. Slosher speaks to why I love Splatoon mechanically so much. It’s range is actually quite good for long it takes to kill, and using it to get that perfect positioning to just barely kill someone at the edge of your range is bless. Going into the future, I hope line marker gets buffed because the deco kit actually has the potential to be very fun, it’s just that the kit happens to be undertuned right now (and please make line marker actually fire where my crosshair is Nintendo.) Super chumps for a third Slosher kit? Idk, could be interesting.
I think I now know why the slosher kit with splat bomb and triple ink strike feels so strong in splatoon 3: it is a reference kit to the splat bomb kit from splatoon 1! Same with the shooter "Wasabi" kit of splat bomb and ink strike and the "grim" range blaster with splat bomb and kraken. These reference kits are reasonable balanced versions of their splatoon 1 counterparts. 👌 though it annoys me that squiffer didn’t get a reference kit with a bomb and kraken. That would've been a fun meta....
Oml this unlocked some memories for me. I used to use the Slosher SO MUCH I used to use the slosher, deco slosher and tri-slosher because i liked how it looked. I had no concept of good kits so I though that deco slosher was the best because it had sprinklers (I loved sprinklers for some reason?) Nowadays I still use sloshers but it’s normally the tri-slosher or slosher, specifically in ranked battle
The deco comparison to stamper is so true, cuz even when I play it it just feels like I’m worse stamper. It’s extra apparent too when fighting stamper and other weapons with similar range and agro kits.
As someone who only just started playing Splatoon with the 3rd game release, these videos are super interesting. Love getting these little bits of insight from the past games and community. Pls continue making these if you can :)

They're well informed and easy to listen to, and it definitely helps that you've covered 2 of my favourite weapons in a row (rapid blaster + slosher). I know it was busted but I will always miss S1 vanilla slosher, it was so fun to play. Great work in general :)
Yoo I watched the Rapid Blaster one recently and saw you say that you'd make one on Sloshers eventually! Looks like that time is now, nice! Sloshers are such dumb fun, I remember the OG Burst Bomb + Inkstrike one being absolutely everywhere. That thing definitely helped make the Summer update feel even crazier! Props for all your work on this. Can't wait to take in valuable bucket facts during my dinner!
Deco is way better after a few buffs. Especially line marker. This is pretty much the perfect weapon for line marker. It combos like burst bombs, it's super ink efficient, it has huge range, and it tracks opponent's behind walls. Combined with zipcaster, you can always have an impact on every fight in the game. The skill floor is just really high.
i love slosher deco in splat 3 simply because spiderman on a bucket is very fun, angle shooter is also a guilty pleasure sub for me and killing people with it is probably the worst way to be splatted

I mean angle shooter is objectively terrible and makes deco way worse for having it, but slosher certainly is the best weapon to make use of it, even if it still isn't good with it
The bucket amd its decorated variant has recently gotten buffed so that the minimum falloff damage is 50. This means that it's now a two shot, no matter what.
This weapon's concept to me was likely someone pulling up that one segment from Expiration Date ("Gentleman... This is a bucket. _Dear God..._ There's more. _Nooo...._") and everyone was like, Yeah BUCKET. This is my main weapon. I'm by no means top tier comp level good with it, but damn if it isn't satisfying as hell to sudden kills from a two tap.

Just switched over from Slosher to Tri-Slosher with the new kit that just released & I love it so much more due to its speed. Yeah it’s kinda mindless 😂 but you have to get in close to get splats. But if you’re good you can easily rack up 20+ splats per match.
Tbh I don't see why they don't just make line marker a hard to hit burst bomb that does a consistent 40 damage and marks people. If it painted the floor more and didn't have as much endlag that would be so cool. It'd also feel so satisfying to use it to trap people in ink below their feet then combo off the marker with a slosh while they can't move
I remember seeing more Soda's then vanilla's in 1 in ranked. as for me... I actually liked the Deco. I know wall doesn't help combo but I liked the defensive playstyle.
also have to point out that missiles were really weak at the release of splatoon 2 and took a while to be recognised as strong even after buffs, so vslosher early on was kinda lacking. and then also vslosher being overshadowed by kshot in terms of missile output... soda I think just did a better job at *being slosher* while vslosher was in this weird spot where it doesnt really suit the missile + suction bomb niche as well as other weapons did
Just subbed, these weapon overview videos are so 🔥🔥🔥 You should do one on luna blaster in the future, I think the story from being top tier, to being low tier, to being at a comfortable tier now in splat 3 would be interesting. Anyways, hope the channel pops off
V slosher in Splatoon 1 wasn't only strong, it was considered to be by far the best weapon in the game. The only thing that held it back was its special and burst bomb combo was so broken it made your kill time insanely fast which essentially made it a one-shot weapon that didn't need that much aim to get it (compared to the other meta weapon in this game being custom range blaster and cherry) .
you forget that both of the other weapons wou mentioned can also one shot (with longer range) and actually had a good special that works with the weapon. +your kill time with slosh and burst is still comparable to H-3 one shot or range direct, which is why all 3 of those are top tiers. c range is the best probably, but slosh isnt worse by much at all
@@jacobcats_spl the thing is that in terms of potential, crb was definitively stronger but slosher's burst combo was so reliable because you didn't need to have perfect aim to get it that in practice, v slosher was just a little bit better because it still had all the capabilities that sloshers have. In terms of special... yeah crb is definitively stronger but since you died almost all the time in this game, getting kraken was very hard, especially for crb. But I mean, in the end, those three weapons were all broken in their own right and were still above every other weapons (apart from zimmy that was only held back by its heavy depletion and its kit dependency that made it hard to use in a QR meta)
I love the new vid! I have a suggestion to go over the overturned then heavily nerfed weapons in Splatoon, I know you did a vid on blasters but there are some other weapons like ballpoint that got heavily nerfed, etc
Poor slosher Deco. Maybe they can give slosher Deco a second sub as in line marker and burst bomb at the same time (?) and then bring back burst bomb launcher on it to make up for all the bad other kits for deco
I personally would like to see a buff to the deco happen through a buff to the angle shooter; if it were able to do more to scare people back or something, that'd do a lot for all the weak angle shooter kits out there (aka all of them). Nintendo is clearly too afraid to unlock the beast caged within the deco.. But if they really did give slosher a burst bomb again, I'd be glad to see it.

Ah, Slosher my beloved... I do think vSlosh is vaguely viable to play, but will basically never see use in high-level play over TTek since that stupid shooter got the same kit with a lower PPS and is easier to play. Might see some map-dependant comps run it over Ttek for the slosh arc, but we might be stuck waiting for Soda Slosher to see it come into meta fully. On that note, I am slightly disappointed that tri-nv has what would thematically be the best Soda Slosher kit. The literal soda can bomb plus cracking open a cold one with the boys? Peak amusement.
forever high tier but unfortunately outclassed, vslosh has gotten it’s more supportive kit put onto a splattershot for cheaper twice now, and burst bomb probably won’t ever come back
Well thought out video. Something I do disagree with however is Splat 3's Slosher Deco being the worst in the game, in fact, it's pretty solid. Sure, angle shooter is bad but it's by far the best angle shooter weapon we have currently. And Zipcaster is pretty underrated for it with it being a strong combo tool. I'd say it's a Solid Niche/B+ weapon that has potential
i still stand by what i said in this video, i think slosher deco has little use in this game and is heavily outclassed by splatana stamper. better main weapon, better zipcaster user, easier sub combo and better sub weapon, everything about stamper is just what slosher deco wishes it could be. the projectile being able to go over obstacles is the one thing that slosher has going for it imo, but i still think it stands either at the bottom of the tier list or one tier above that especially with the introduction of the light tetras, slosher deco as a zipcaster pick is just not a thing that works in a competitive environment (which is what this video talks about). even if line marker gets significant buffs, rapid pro deco will be a better line marker user anyways
ive played slosher deco in s3 up to 5 stars and while its fair to say that its worse than vanilla slosher is it really that bad? I like the compromise of getting the ridiculous kill time that burst bomb would give with the downside that its on angle shooter, which is undeniably very mediocre. the thing about stamper existing is also true but I think zipcaster fits it pretty well, the only problem being its issues with fall off damage leading to inconsistent kills
Some of Splatoon 3's kits are just so weird, they have the potential for so much variety and then they just... Don't. And everything Splatoon does has always been set in stone, so if the kits feel like mistakes, they're mistakes that will never be corrected. They also lock out potential use of their subs and specials in a different, better combination, since they're never repeated, but there's enough variety at least for that to not be a terrible issue.

Now that slosher has risen in usage for AOE weopans it is also a solid high tier in splatoon 3
It's like summoning salt but for splatoon instead of racing games and I love it

as for me... I actually liked the Deco. I know wall doesn't help combo but I liked the defensive playstyle.

also have to point out that missiles were really weak at the release of splatoon 2 and took a while to be recognised as strong even after buffs, so vslosher early on was kinda lacking. and then also vslosher being overshadowed by kshot in terms of missile output... soda I think just did a better job at *being slosher* while vslosher was in this weird spot where it doesnt really suit the missile + suction bomb niche as well as other weapons did

V slosher in Splatoon 1 wasn't only strong, it was considered to be by far the best weapon in the game. The only thing that held it back was its special and burst bomb combo was so broken it made your kill time insanely fast which essentially made it a one-shot weapon that didn't need that much aim to get it (compared to the other meta weapon in this game being custom range blaster and cherry) .
you forget that both of the other weapons wou mentioned can also one shot (with longer range) and actually had a good special that works with the weapon. +your kill time with slosh and burst is still comparable to H-3 one shot or range direct, which is why all 3 of those are top tiers. c range is the best probably, but slosh isnt worse by much at all
@@jacobcats_spl the thing is that in terms of potential, crb was definitively stronger but slosher's burst combo was so reliable because you didn't need to have perfect aim to get it that in practice, v slosher was just a little bit better because it still had all the capabilities that sloshers have. In terms of special... yeah crb is definitively stronger but since you died almost all the time in this game, getting kraken was very hard, especially for crb. But I mean, in the end, those three weapons were all broken in their own right and were still above every other weapons (apart from zimmy that was only held back by its heavy depletion and its kit dependency that made it hard to use in a QR meta)
I love the new vid! I have a suggestion to go over the overturned then heavily nerfed weapons in Splatoon, I know you did a vid on blasters but there are some other weapons like ballpoint that got heavily nerfed, etc

Poor slosher Deco. Maybe they can give slosher Deco a second sub as in line marker and burst bomb at the same time (?) and then bring back burst bomb launcher on it to make up for all the bad other kits for deco
I personally would like to see a buff to the deco happen through a buff to the angle shooter; if it were able to do more to scare people back or something, that'd do a lot for all the weak angle shooter kits out there (aka all of them). Nintendo is clearly too afraid to unlock the beast caged within the deco.. But if they really did give slosher a burst bomb again, I'd be glad to see it.

Ah, Slosher my beloved... I do think vSlosh is vaguely viable to play, but will basically never see use in high-level play over TTek since that stupid shooter got the same kit with a lower PPS and is easier to play. Might see some map-dependant comps run it over Ttek for the slosh arc, but we might be stuck waiting for Soda Slosher to see it come into meta fully.
On that note, I am slightly disappointed that tri-nv has what would thematically be the best Soda Slosher kit. The literal soda can bomb plus cracking open a cold one with the boys? Peak amusement.
I pray for the 3rd splatoon 3 slosher kit, whether it be the soda slosher or something else, I need it to have burst bomb-

forever high tier but unfortunately outclassed, vslosh has gotten it’s more supportive kit put onto a splattershot for cheaper twice now, and burst bomb probably won’t ever come back

I may be crazy but it seems that they shadow nerfed slosher with release of splat3. It seems that hurtbox has been reduced masively

Well thought out video. Something I do disagree with however is Splat 3's Slosher Deco being the worst in the game, in fact, it's pretty solid. Sure, angle shooter is bad but it's by far the best angle shooter weapon we have currently. And Zipcaster is pretty underrated for it with it being a strong combo tool. I'd say it's a Solid Niche/B+ weapon that has potential
i still stand by what i said in this video, i think slosher deco has little use in this game and is heavily outclassed by splatana stamper. better main weapon, better zipcaster user, easier sub combo and better sub weapon, everything about stamper is just what slosher deco wishes it could be. the projectile being able to go over obstacles is the one thing that slosher has going for it imo, but i still think it stands either at the bottom of the tier list or one tier above that
especially with the introduction of the light tetras, slosher deco as a zipcaster pick is just not a thing that works in a competitive environment (which is what this video talks about). even if line marker gets significant buffs, rapid pro deco will be a better line marker user anyways

ive played slosher deco in s3 up to 5 stars and while its fair to say that its worse than vanilla slosher is it really that bad? I like the compromise of getting the ridiculous kill time that burst bomb would give with the downside that its on angle shooter, which is undeniably very mediocre. the thing about stamper existing is also true but I think zipcaster fits it pretty well, the only problem being its issues with fall off damage leading to inconsistent kills
Some of Splatoon 3's kits are just so weird, they have the potential for so much variety and then they just... Don't. And everything Splatoon does has always been set in stone, so if the kits feel like mistakes, they're mistakes that will never be corrected. They also lock out potential use of their subs and specials in a different, better combination, since they're never repeated, but there's enough variety at least for that to not be a terrible issue.
