I like to imagine that Captain 3 holds the fact they did their entire campaign without firing their gun even _once_ over everyone else's head on a regular basis.

@@disc5035 the mission was not "indiscriminately murder as many octolings, especially those of high power, as possible," it was "stop the octarian threat" which was achieved until dj octavio escaped the snow globe.
when i did the level "that sinking feeling" i actually... played it wrong [per se] and finished it the first time. i literally avoided all of the enemies and didn't fire a single shot on my first try-- meanwhile, my boyfriend had so many attempts it hurt. i told him my strategy and he tried it and it worked... it was genuinely really funny

@@Ag3nt-MC i dont think theres a "wrong" way per se-- but i dodged all of the shots and ran through fire instead. i lured enemies and lost them around objects so they didn't spot me anymore and "forgot" so they'd stop attacking me, etc. it worked wayyyy better than trying to actually conserve ink! i stopped thinking about using it altogether and just brute forced my way through and it was surprisingly much easier than when i saw someone trying to do it the normal way [i.e shooting shots but trying to keep your ink usage low] :)

When I took my own run through the game I was actively trying to figure out how you’d handle a minimal shot challenge. Needless to say this entire video was an endless train of disbelief at the depraved lengths you can go to save one measly shot.
I’m shocked and disgusted. Fantastic job.
My sibling actually gained the ability to move without shooting the first tutorial balloon on their first playthrough, similar to how you did in the first game. I still have no idea how but that should mean it's possible.

@@Gamechamp3000 can dirty switch carts (the golden bits specifically) affect the functionality of the game?
@@tylern6420 I don't think so, if anything the most specific it could get would be making specific stuff crash when you tried to load it.
I'm basing this off of a copy of Mario Party 7 I had as a kid that worked most of the time, but got a small scratch in it that caused the game to specifically crash if Bowser tried to load a multiplayer Bowser minigame.
@@tylern6420 The Switch does too much verification to carts, you'd just get an "an error has occurred, please reinsert the cart" screen

The moment i saw Burst Bombs as an available sub you can get i knew that you might be really happy to see them return in single player.
You can work around the opening screen by getting a connection error (such as by keeping the device in sleep mode for a minute) which’ll then return you to splatsville as you normally would.

I think an interesting challenge would be seeing how many power eggs you need to simply complete the story mode. No 100%, just get from start to finish, and how long that would take.

The 1st video I watched on this channel was the Splatoon 1 Hero mode least shot run and I’m glad I found it. Been looking forward to this episode ever since Splatoon 3 was announced. Awesome job Ms Champ!

Edit: Seriously, everything in this video is just so insanely impressive, if I went and tried to describe everything I'd be here longer than you were on most of these levels.
I am convinced that when gamechamp is reading the credits she just uses a voice bot to read everything.
technically, all of the octo expansion levels can be completed by using's Marina's skip test. You would get faded mem cakes, but you wouldn't need shots!
Iirc, it doesn't count for completion, since you didn't beat the level, you skipped the level. It also doesn't unlock IA3.

Just getting around to watching this now, and already I'm losing my mind. That Octavio fight is actually hilarious, he really just sits there and watches you basically seabag him for points and does nothing about it. Congrats on this run. I remember trying my own shotless run but eventually just gave up on it. I don't think there's anything I did that wasn't already covered in this video anyways other than me attempting to do the shotless run with every weapon available for a full 100%.

You know what? I was actually going to avoid watching any videos on Spoon 3's Story mode in favor of playing it myself, but when Gamechamp-Sama's doing a 55-minute challenge run about it, I immediately went "Oh no, I *cannot* miss this!"
I believe the Title Screen ZR isn't a shot because while it uses the ZR button, you don't have a gun in the Splatsville hub, therefore you can't shoot anything.

45:45 "Pixel perfect" is used for position. If you want to use it with timing, it's "frame perfect".
but if it's 3D and used for position could it be "polygon perfect"?

I was literally wondering about both this month's episode and the nathaniel bandy run and how he did the minimum shot video
I enjoyed the story mode since it had a bit of the usual story mode levels and just a huge sprinkle of Octo expansion. I also loved that due to the events of Octo expansion Octolings are available from the start.
Hearing Gamechamp try to pronounce "Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch" made my day.

I bought Splatoon 3 because of this video, and now I play it every day. Champ, your power is immeasurable and, frankly, terrifying
For level 0208: Switching Things Up, you might be able to shave the final shot off by hypothetically landing a bomb precisely on the ground below the switch instead of shooting, and then waiting for RNG to be in your favor with the explosion's random ink splatter.
The random ink splatter doesn't appear to reach that high.

26:34 I don’t think this tip will work for this level BUT you can actually refill roller ink without submerging you just have to stand still with it deployed and it will slowly start to refill ink. MIGHT be helpful for other stages down the line. That way u can stay at 1 shot while having an infinite ink supply (inkfinite)
it would but why stand still for it to slowly fill up when swimming in it would fill it much faster
@@testtest-sl5nx because then you’d have to press ZR and take another shot after submerging back out of the ink, the whole point of the challenge is to minimize shots, which is exactly what this technique does

Trans gal here! I noticed that at 37:26 your voice was higher and more energetic than throughout the rest of the video; and wanted to tell you that it's okay if you want to make that your voice in videos going forward, it's also okay if you don't want to change anything.

you might be able to skip the entire phase 2 of mr grizz with something called menu storage, splatoon 3 speedrunners use it to skip phase 1
