  • In this video we test our truck after modifying the air intake system and replacing the fuel injectors. Did it work? Somewhat not, but yes!...

Sorry about the dirty windshield! Go to 20:23 if you are here just for the results!

My '89 manual, just like yours but extra cab, has got as high as 13 MPG, but I do a lot of long distance no stops no starts on open highways. the upside (if you can call it that) is when pulling my trailer and an ATV in the bed it still gets 9-10 MPG. I love seeing your truck in motion and enjoy watching your videos- keep up the good work

I have a carbed 87 460 with the c6 trans. I get 10mpg no matter what I’m doing. I plan on getting the banks exhaust too!

Banks makes great stuff! I’m saving for the exhaust kit and their differential cover.

Thank you for watching! Yes, traffic does kill gas mileage and the prices at the pump aren’t helping either! Im sure you’ve noticed.

97 F250 460, e4od, 4x4, full bed and extended cab, not 4 door. Worst I’ve done is 5 around town, no load and best I’ve done is 12.5@80mph downhill from Butte, MT to Thompson Falls, MT also no load. I average 7-8mpg towing 5,000 - 7,000lbs at 60-70 mph

    Stop and go. I aggree.
    When you stop time matters
And every time you go carburator takes
    10 %more fuel to pull.

Good video. I wish my 89 got 10 plus mpg lol. I did the air intake mod and it gave me another mile and a half mog tho so I'm stoked on that! Lol.
Do you have the link for the injectors?

I have a 1995 f350 and my rear tank fills my front tank. I'm not sure if yours is the same or not but that would make a huge difference.

    • @MrBlitzkrieg1987
      @MrBlitzkrieg1987  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I keep the front tank full, that’s my emergency gas. There’s a selector switch that allows you to choose which tank you pull the fuel from.

    • @46v8bird

@@MrBlitzkrieg1987 on mine the return line goes to the front tank so any gas that isn't burned returns back to the front tank.

You’ve really got me thinking now, I will be running the test again on the Front tank and see if there is any difference! Ill give you a shoutout in my next test 😂

Punch out the cat and weld it back on and disconnect the smog pump and put a smaller belt. Then reconnect wen you need to smog.

I have a 95' E350 that was converted to 4x4 and lifted 4". Has an E4OD, 4.10 gears, and factory size tires 30.5". Best fuel mileage I've gotten is 12.5 all highway with about 2k pounds in the back cruising 55. Would really like to improve the numbers, and stumbled on 460efiguys.com. They have a low profile throttle body kit that replaces the giant factory setup and also ties into the control module giving some adaptability. They claim 30-40% fuel mileage improvement, of course depends on your driving habits. Definitely going to give them a try..

Yes, I would love to be able to buy and run their stuff… unfortunately I live in California for now, and I can’t run a set up like that because of the smog dictatorship here
