    Getting further than 14 miles on a gallon of gas in any 460-vehicle is good. 3:55:1 gears and taller tires help you a lot here, along with your good new parts. Great video. I know guys who say their 460 4x4 gets 8-12mpg at the most, but some of them have 4.10 :1 or even 4.88:1 gears with a lift and tires similar to yours.

    • @MrBlitzkrieg1987
      @MrBlitzkrieg1987  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes the gears and the size of tires do have an effect, also the type of transmission the truck came equipped with. Some automatic trucks were made with no overdrive and those get terrible fuel economy

    Excellent video! The EV6 style injectors are a big improvement. I had a 94 F150 4 x 4 in the past. It had the 5.0. I loved that truck. I always knew the intake tubes were a restriction. Never got any better than 13 miles a gallon no matter if the AC was on or off. Beautiful truck but it started rusting from the inside out in the bed area. Nice you have the injector flow tester. Great job Luis!

    Fuel blend, atmospheric temperature, and even a basic tune-up would give you that type of mpg improvement...... The K&N filter flows absolutely no more cfm than the oem filter except in ISO facility test it is well documented that they do allow a substantial amount of particulate dirt into the engine which WILL increase piston ring wear. Even swapping out new oem injectors would give you...most likely increased mpg.

    • @MrBlitzkrieg1987

      @@MrBlitzkrieg1987 What you can't swap an entire firewall and dashboard from a 2010 super duty on your driveway in your spare time? But in all seriousness it would be nice if people would do budget swaps like a 7.4 powerstroke or cummins (which came in Ford F650's). I know Rich swapped a 03 GMC Yukon with a blown 5.3 to a cummins 4bt and doubled with fuel economy to 24mpg. He did that on a budget.

    I would like to change the SD to a MAF setup, kinda of pricey. I live in a rural area and slowing down helps get better mileage. 3.55 gears at 60mph seems to be the sweet spot. I have stock-size tires also. A big difference between city and highway driving. 5mpg versus 12 for me. I'm lucky I don't drive much. In the winter I leave it in 4wd for a few months. much snow and ice here in the winter. My truck is really good in the snow. I spend just under a hundred bucks a month for gas. good video, I think I already have those newer style injectors. I would like a fresh engine with the computer cam. Its in the future.

      Sounds like you have a plan for your truck! Ive thought about going with a MAF sensor from a newer 460, on the last years California F250/F350 trucks had a MAF computer from 94-97. But the easiest way to do it is to find a set up from a Fox Body 5.0 Mustang and just have a chip installed to let it know it’s a 460 now. You’re right about the city driving, if I use the highway i get pretty good mileage, if I use only the street and short trips Ill get about 11mpg tops. Thank you for watching

      Not a fan of them? I’ve heard that the red oil they use on the filter can damage your MAF Sensor, luckily these trucks have no MAF, since they are speed density. The K&N filter has an undeniable advantage, the flow of air passes through with less resistance than the OE filter, and that alone can boost your mileage if you don’t abuse the pedal. I think in this truck it is staying, but I agree with you and I wouldn’t use is if it had a MAF

      K&N's are a huge no-go for offroad community.
      Without the oil, or not enough oil, or if neglected they will not keep dirt out of the intake.
      This gets worse if the filter as been on the buisness end of an air compressor nozzle after cleaning (to dry to filter faster).
      The air pressure opens up holes in the gauze.
      The juice is not worth the squeeze in my opinion.
      Run OEM filters to keep the crap out, or run oiled foam for offroad applications.
      I'd wager good money that the K&N offers no noticeable power gains over stock filters

      @@derrikmiller33 that’s really interesting, the only negative thing I heard in the past was that they can damage sensors, this is the first time I get the perspective from an off-roader!
