NO B.S | This is what a 2018-2019 Mustang GT Actually makes on a Dyno

  • Today we did another dyno on a dynojet with my stock 2019 Mustang GT. A 2018 Mustang GT will make similar horsepower with the 10r80 10 speed automatic transmission. An MT82 will make slightly higher power..

    Glad you was able to get a comparison! I would have liked to see him take the limiters out and run it to 7400 just to see. I agree having a local tuner is great.. Has worked out great for me having one close to me... I wouldn't have expected the service that I received from my tuner from a tuner that was remote tuning. The trackside tuning alone was worth it...
    At the end of the day your hp numbers can vary from dyno to dyno.. I've always said its a tuning tool and good to use when you do modifications to the car so you can see what you picked up from modifications. If you use the same dyno over and over. Trap speeds at the track tell the tale!

    Eddy current, dual roller and single roller inertial all give slightly different readings.
    Hell tire pressure can have a significant effect on RWHP readings.
    Nice results for an oem set up!!!
    I can't wait to check my 19 GTPP on a DynoJet in ground single roller inertial that we use locally. My 460 powered 73 LTD did 456 SAE NET @ 6k rpm.

    Dynos are so all over the place. In August, in pea soup humidity, and Lund stated " Crap gas" mine made 420 wheel with LTH, catless, Xtreme cb, Lund 93 and JLT box. I could go now to the same dyno but in todays air and prob see 440+. Which it BETTER make LOL..I now have a Steeda sealed lid intake and tune revision. Car feels very different and a lot better.

    Good video man! Glad you redid it. All these engines are pretty predictable in stock trim, and even between all the different tuners and tunes I've seen this year, I haven't seen variation between the tuned cars any more than 10whp at the max. Especially the A10 cars, the stick cars do put down around 15-20whp more, but then again, they sure aren't quicker at the track either. A10 is definitely the way to go if you want to have a quicker car right out of the box, go stick if you wanna have a bit more fun and spin the tires on the street at will.

      Beastmode in his 2018 10sp auto hit 436rwhp at 7500.... im not sure you are accurate in that comment. Also, zander in his blue 2018 hit rwhp of 426, 428, and a 430hp....
      So are the 2019 not producing as much, or the hit @6200-6500 losing that much power by not hitting the 7500? Just saying, two 2018's both were very similar with an additional 26-36 rwhp @7500...????

    I think a tune does up the speed limiter were you can do it in 6th as i did mine. My tuner said that i could have done it in 7th but it was too late by then because i talked to him after the dyno and not before. He told me between 6th and 7th there is 10-15whp difference. I did 443whp and 410wtq in 6th at 75 ambient. In 7th it would have put me probably at 453-458whp. Either way this is your older vid your much much higher now, love that red. Great vids keep posting them.

    Zander.
    The only dyno numbers that matters to the viewers, are the standard Dynojet ones (non Eddy current ).
    So if you want a real world number, both for you and your viewers. Get the car baselined at a Dynojet 224x and have the rev limiter removed so you can rev out the motor.
    What is the point in dynoing a cars engine power if you don't use the full range of the engine powerband!
    As a tuning tool you can use whatever dyno you want. But as general comparison tool against other cars engine power. The industry standard is the Dynojet 224x. That are the only valid comparison numbers.

    These new Mustangs with Autos have around a 12% Parasitic Loss, Which would translate to 405 rwhp from 460 crank hp, so you are right near what it should be.

    A mild tune on fuel and timing can make that engine run much crisper. OEM tune is very conservative in case of bad fuel, in hot day to prevent detonation.

    Supposed to do dyno runs in a 1:1 gear ratio. For the A10 that’s 7th gear. Any gear lower than that, even 6th, is still multiplying torque and will give a higher/false reading.

    442bhp 511 tq to the wheels at 7100RPM on a Swedish (EU) 2018 GT, Manual with 3.55 gearing (different to PP1 in the Us albeit being a PP1). 98 octane (EU, 93 US but probably higher quality fuel). Pleased. Us EU people get gas particulate filter on all 2018+ which I thought would ruin the power but numbers suggest otherwise. Also one has to wonder how empty that particulate filter section of the exhaust is, as well as the cats, considering the power. 450 BHP claimed on EU cars, delivering that to the wheels....... lol. PS: Dynojet used in this case with fuses out to prohibit BS letting us dyno it proper. Tried both 4th gear (straight ratio) and 3d (computer re-calcs) and the values matched until rev limiter due to 155mph limiter vs 3d gear not hitting the limiter. Hence reliable numbers since curves matched until 6900 rpm in both cases, numbers too.

    Just think, the stock 2018 and 19 GT's, are making over 50+ rwhp and 50+ rwtq more vs the 15-17 GT's. Then you factor in the awesome 10r80 and you have beast of a machine. I know, I had a 17 GT manual and just bought a 19 GT PP 10R80.
    Do you plan on getting a tune? I'm seriously considering it just to firm up the shifts and fix some of the lower gear downshift revmatching issues in manual mode (3rd to 2nd is one of the worst).

    • @Sonicaceman
      @Sonicaceman 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      JCTiggs
      Do you mean 50 more based off dyno numbers because the factory hp from a 2017 is 435 hp and 400 tq, Fords claim is only 25 hp more and 20 tq more because of the addition of port injection and the gt350 intake the 2018 numbers from Ford are 460/420

    • @JCTiggs1
      @JCTiggs1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sonicaceman Yes, that is confirmed SAE rwhp and rwtq based on many dyno runs in other words, 490+ hp and 455+ lb ft at the crank. This is at least 55 to 60+ hp/trq compared to the 15-17 GT. The advertised numbers at the crank by Ford are underrated and is a well known fact. Possible reasons could be to protect the GT350, otherwise who knows.

    I am happy to hear this in a way. I bought a 2018 5.0 GT 7 months ago. And I sincerely doubted the "460.00 hp @ 4700 rpm" B.S. the factory spues out at the consumer. It feels more like 380 bhp to 400 bhp AT THE MOST!!! Thank you Zander13!

    I'm curious to see what the numbers are if you put it on an actual DynoJet. I assume you had 93 Octane in it?
    Justin on AM only pulled a 398 rwhp with his 10R80 but it's was right of the show room for with 87 Octane. That's the lowest I've seen for an 18+ GT. For comparison, on the same dyno, their 2018 GT pulled 437 rwhp and 402 rwtq, while their 2015 GT pulled 370 rwhp and 350 rwtq.
