My Procharged Mustang GT known as Smurrf has treated me very well over the years, however with the brand new 2018 Mustang GT arriving it was irresistible to see head to head which one overall in depth is a better value and better car. The 2019 Mustang GT will be out soon with little changes so I imagine this will apply there as well. The Coyote 5.0 V8 is a glorious engine and with both cars sharing a similar power plant is it worth the extra money to buy a 2018 instead of an S197 from 2013? Here's every difference of both cars. Thanks for watching!

2013. S550 is too curvy for me 😂
hi david hope you get well soon much love from the atl
2018, but if it was specifically smurf, then the 2013 lol
@J LMAO not at all, but the new mustang just doesn't really catch my eye as much
"Yes." - Ford executives
Yes
They want you to get a new one because they don’t make profit on used ones
@@deek1701 Yea and that's their whole point. To make money
it's called running a biz
The S197 body esp. 2010-2014 is the best looking in my opinion. It looks like a classic Mustang with modern lines.
I loved it at the time. Took me a couple years to get used to the S550 put this new facelift for 18-20 just looks MEAN
@John P Yeah the Terminator looks exceptionally mean, even if people don't like how they look. They still scream muscle car. Now the mid-90's SN95s, THOSE are abysmal to look at. Aside from the Pintostangs, those are the worst by FAR. But I like the look of the 01-04s, I'd like to get one in all black and put a Coyote gen 3 in it. But, I'm just shooting for the stars now lmfao
I rented a 2012 GT graphite convertible for a week for my wedding.. drove the hell out of it., still have fond memories of that coyote
Why? I hv an 08v6 orig owner. The 10s hv a weird rear end to me.
Couldn’t agree more
I still think the body of the 2013 just always look more mean and vicious than the current and the last one.
Fat Gleesh_112 looks are stellar in 13 but the S550 is more refined and a better ride. I owned a 2011 5.0 and now in a 17 5.0 and the 17 is a much better car all around.
@@darrin2053 of course they have to make it better or people wouldn't buy
Agreed
woodyfive0 drive a 14 500 complete different experience than a s550 5.0 I’ve owned 2 5.0 California special and performance package I just like the interior in the s550 more
Honestly same bro
Its 3 years since he installed the pro charger? Time flies when you make good content
For real, I was like 3 years!?
Yawn.... and hasn't done much since then. It's time for an upgrade if he wants to keep this YT train rollin. A 2019 auto with just a Whipple could be a Hellcat killer.
love it you said hellcat but we know demon and red eye would still win
I said it because just a few mods here or there could swing the outcome. I feel the Ford still has the advantage due to the lighter weight, larger supercharger, flex fuel ready fuel system with 16 fuel injectors and that lightning quick 10 speed trans.
@@Sir.VicsMasher shit just bolt ons and E85 these 2018s are killing hellcats..
I truly think overall the 2011-2014 will age better than the new generations
No it wont. They already look old but in a good way. Car designs are just changing too much for this design to look timeless. Still a good looking car but i think the s550 will age better because it looks more like the new s650.
2011-2014 Mustang GT's are the best bang for the buck! They are affordable, reliable, and it's a high 12 second car! which is still pretty quick!

Fbo,with a cobra jet intake manifold, some cams, on e85, you can probably see some low 11 sec passes, maybe even 10sec passes
I bought a 13 GT i could have bought a 15 but the body style is why i went with a 13 much better looking and more aggressive in my opinion

yeah im looking into getting a 19 or a 14 i like the 14 an my pockets do as well but the 19 is just sharper and the suspension in the rear is a big diff but if i do im just getting a base gt still love the 13-14
I would just take a 13-14 s197 5.0 premium with a stick. Looks better IMO & saves a ton of money. Can’t go wrong either way.
That's what I'm doing. Wanted a 16-17 but they are significantly more expensive and my record isnt very good so insurance will be a huge bitch so I'm going with a 14

I’m lucky enough to drive and own a 2013 mustang and being a car dealer lets me see and drive a lot of different cars. I can say this for sure . For the past couple months I’ve been watching prices on mustangs at the auctions. The 11-12 has definitely dropped in price. The 13-14 has remained strong and for the most part prices have remained the same $15k-$20k in good shape with good Miles. The 15-16 models are the same if not a little less expensive. This shows me the demand for the 13-14 are stronger and more customers perfer this model. Also a note I’m in Florida where the cars are a dime a dozen .
I live in Florida, I'm looking for a 2013gt or 2014 gt.....I have an 07 Gt now all modded out,,,,I just also want another.
I wouldn't even consider anything from 2015 and up,,,but ugly they are.
I Have a 2014 model, I want to get a 2015. Where do you think I Should sell my 2014 to get enough for a 2015?
Sitting here in 2022 as a lifelong Chevy fan, I can honestly say an s550 GT is my 5 year car. No matter what scene you run with or what your style is, you can’t deny the fact that Ford really just got it right with this car:)
I hope you get it soon!
I went from a 2017 V6 mustang to a 2019 Mustang GT Performance pack. I now finally understand why people love mustangs.
lol welcome
Enjoy the car but please dont be another statistic after leaving a car show lol.
I have a s197 and my dad has a s550. I completely agree that the interior on the newer ones along with the ride is just night and day! However, I will say I think the body design on the s197 is just timeless.. It is so aggressive and the s550 looks good just not as aggressive. Love these videos man!
New Mustangs look too European in my opinion. I don't feel the aggression when I look at them like the 2013.
Jacob Siekmann bro exactly!!!
@Peder Hansen lol cmon they aint
i like em cause they look euro. bought a new ecoboost
its look like a 2 door fusion
they dont look aggressive but they do look evil specially the 2018s
13-14 mustangs are the best looking ever
Isaiah Martinez any pre-foxbody mustangs are a thousand times better looking
They are literally some of the worst looking mustangs ever.
The old classics look the best to me, late 60s/early 70s. They are timeless.
Blind.
Mustangs from 1964 through 1970 are the classic Mustangs and imo the best looking. Anything between 1970 and the fox bodies are junk.
I have a 2011 GT premium, 3.73s, Brembo pack and mods. It’s lowered 1.5 inches, forged staggered wheels, boss front fascia, borla s axle backs and a custom tune. It makes 390 plus at the wheels. Things I would like to add. 13-14 taillights and quad exhaust, GT500 spoiler and Recaro leather seats. That would make it perfect. Making a monster would required full exhaust and the Cobra Jet Manifold that’s plenty for me. All that is a lot of money so I won’t be changing a thing any time soon. Now getting 2018 is a no go for me. If I was to upgrade I would rather get a used GT350 instead. However I really want a new Raptor or perhaps a Bronco if Ford ever gets one out. For the time being I still love my 11 5.0, it still beats anything that gets on its way. I am yet to race a new GT or the new Camaro SS which are probably slightly faster but still a drivers race. The Coyote is just so smooth and rev happy, It never gets old.
Buddy do I have some news about the bronco for you 😅
A little over a month ago, I test drove a 2015 Mustang GT, manual, and a 2011 Mustang GT, Manual. Both fully loaded, besides the CS package. I loved the 2015. Easy to control, very confident around corners, even under heavy acceleration. And then I drove the 2011. I pretty much had to relearn how to drive. That car terrified me when I first drove on it, because of that live axle, because of the way it naturally drives. On corners, as long as I don't accelerate heavily, it is controllable but, as you said, it can't take corners like the 2015 and up can. I ended up going with the 2011 since it was more in my price range than the 2015. I love my 2011. Now that I've driven it a lot, I understand the car more, and I can control it a lot better. I do wish I could have gotten the 2015, but maybe in a couple of years, I'll get a new mustang. I don't regret getting the 2011. I love my car. (Sorry for the long post... Lol)
How much did u pay for the 2011 looking into getting one soon
I was in the exact same boat as you except I bought a 2012 boss 302 instead of a base 18 gt with the automatic 10 spd. I kind of wish I got the 18 or a 15-17 premium gt but the boss will be worth more than the plain gt anyway so I’m not worried at all. I plan on trading it in in a few years for a gt350
$15,000. It had 42,000 miles on it when i got it. Carfax report came clean.
As a cheap upgrade, swap out the rear lower control arms. It helps keep the rear axle locked in place better.
Anti-roll bars make the biggest difference, then some quality struts and shocks (i am running Bilsteins).
Also, look on the forums for sale section. I got an amazing deal on the anti roll bars that way, and they are my favorite addition.
Dont feel bad, screw the S550.... lmao jk jk. But the S197 is the best imo. It does definitely take more finesse to drive fast than an S550 but thats part of the fun to me. I like the more muscle car feel to it, the S550 is too sports car in my opinion. Id rather get an actual sports car or get an actual muscle car, not some weird in between love child. the S550 still is a heavy car to throw around corners, theres no arguing with that.
1. I can buy a built 2014 for less than a stock 2018...suspension, supercharger, etc
2. The watts link, while it doesnt help the ride, it lets the S197 go much harder on a road course.
3. The 2013-14 Mustang that flat-out looks better.
I bought my 2014 GT new and never looked back. I driven and worked on S550s and they are nice. At a local SCCA event, we to compare a stock S550 against an S197 with a watts-link and the usual suspension mods. The S197 killed the game on the courses.
Smurf speaks for itself. 105k miles and still reliable. Smurf is a brute that requires skill. Thats the appeal. I would take Smurf with good tires and test them both on a road course. But, its all personal preference in the end.
FastTX FiveOh of course aftermarket performance parts will make a car better than factory cars... if they are quality parts. Car manufacturers usually go for the middle ground in all areas to reach the largest market. If you want to do the same to a newer design there is going to be a higher limit but there will always be a price like it or not.
@@cutthroat795 Thats why I came from the perspective of making the choice right now.
Mind you, both car were at the dealer when I got my new 2014. I chose it for it's looks and for the solid axle. It simply looks mean. And, at the time, the aftermarket was fully behind the 2011-14 cars.
Now that Ive been through some turns with a watts link equipped S197, Im happily stuck lol.
Yup. Besides the magnetic ride and the addition of direct injection (which I didn't hear mentioned I might have missed it) there really isn't a huge upgrade perfomance wise and it's still too new to really see how the aftermarket benefits from this. If you are looking for a nicer car rather than performance you'll likely go EB but the 197 still holds up well. I think he's definitely underestimating it around a course. The S550 is no doubt better handling but you throw a 200hp advantage and you'll be able to eat it's lunch in just about any track.
Youre speaking straight facts brother. S197 over any other gen. I can only imagine how she rips around a road course. I sold my 14 2 years ago but I will definitely be buying an S197 GT500 as soon as i can lmao
If I had to choose, I'd take the S550 any day. The sleeker design has grown on me.
I wouldn't go new. Get a 16 or 15 with a few miles. Best of both worlds.
Ink stained canvas always buy the last year of a model, it’s a better investment
Exactly... I picked up a used, fully loaded '17 Camaro 2SS for over $10K off MSRP and it only had 12K miles on it. The most important thing is to make sure the car wasn't completely destroyed by the previous owner
@@markbrecht Not necessarily true. In my opinion it's better to go with the last year of the refreshed model, so the 2014 would be the best of that generation of Mustang and the 2020 would be the best out of this current generation of Mustang. I try not to buy a new model since that's when most of the problems occur but they sure look cool when they first come out (I bought a 2010 GT so I'm a hypocrite).
I would suggest waiting for the 18's to drop in price a bit....that 10 speed auto is incredible
The 2013 is *SO MUCH BETTER* it looks better and can be improved to be as good as the 2018 for a fraction of the price. You can put all the bells and whistles on yourself and modernize the entire car.
Can't fix the interior.
person fishforce Actually yes you can and it ain't hard.
Can't fix the suspension.
NO in all aspects! The 2005 to 2014 are plain and ugly! You can't do anything to 2013 and get it near a 2018! Not even to a 2015! Had a 2014 with a Vortech and now a 2017 with a Paxton. Night and Day. You need to get in a 2018 and your mind with change.

person fishforce Eh not he best looking imo. I’m just saying, since this guy thinks not switching means ur a basic bitch. Really and truly when any new mustang ever comes out it’s gonna be like that. Once a new gen comes and the rental companies have them they become real common. I also live in Orlando where 90% of the people on the road are tourists in rental cars so S550s are stupid basic here. Everyone has them. S197s have become rare now in comparison.

2013 GT is one of the best looking Mustangs ever. I have one parked beside my 🦊 and I'll never get rid of either.
The biggest thing people complain about is that it no longer looks like a 1960s mustang. Well, if you want something that looks like a 1960s mustang so bad then buy a 1960s mustang!(Say all you want about the S197s. The 13-14 are lookers i'll say that, but theres not many cars out there that look as nice as a 1960s fastback mustang) As much as I like the retro look lets be honest, it was well overdue for a makeover and it STILL looks retro with the redesigns! There's no mistaking it's a mustang. But most of all what sells me to the S550 over the S197 is the IRS. Yes, for drag racing an SRA has a slight advantage and you can still make it handle well, but let's face it, even a poorly built IRS will outdo an SRA in any real world application 9 out of 10 times. There's no comparison. The mustang has gone from a raw muscle car to a proper sports coupe, and thats a good thing. The only one thats a true raw muscle car is the challenger and that thing is a one trick pony thats only good for burnouts and drag racing.
A Mustang is supposed to be a true muscle car. And it's not anymore... sadly.
It does not at all retain a retro styling. There are very very minor throwback hints. At most it's the tail lights and even then it's really not because the newer tail lights are more narrow. Both beautiful and amazing cars but the S197 will always look the best of the two in my opinion. This is coming from a Foxbody guy. Mustangs are life ☺️.
@J 60's on steroids is literally the S197. Obviously it still looks like a mustang. Just not really anything retro about it. At least when compared to the S197. I like them all though.
Exactly we've got the best of both worlds at my house. I have a 66 mustang and my dad has a 68 fastback with a stroked 390 and a 14 gt500. I really would like to get a fox and one of the newer body styles in the future, time will tell if I want the s197, s550, or whatever is out when I have the money and space.
The 68 fastback has to be one of the best looking cars period, I would never get rid of that car if I had one! I will say this from having a fox body once upon a time. It's probably the ultimate drag car and it's one of those cars that don't truly make sense until you build one, then you understand the hype.
Wassup Dude I hope your feeling better. It's good to see you back on your feet.💙
This was recorded before the surgery actually! I just had to fight to edit it!

I actually miss my 14 gt more than the 17 GT I had. The 18' GT seems to be on another level though.
If I were going to stay stock, I feel the Shelby GT350 or Vette would be the better choice and more fun for being in $50K territory; however a slightly pre-owned 18GT can be had for a good bit less with the potential to go very fast with FI on stock internals...

I know this is an old video, but I have to say you're spot on with S550 Mustang. My wife is the Mustang freak of the family, and actually went from a 2013 to a 2018. She was blown away by the advancements in the 550. The car now only has 18K miles on it, and she said that Ford would have to preform a miracle on the Mustang to get her out of that '18. And yes, the car stickered at 53K. Imagine that, a Mustang costing 53000 bucks. :)
2013-2014 favorite body style 👌 definitely outdated though...
I've always liked the 2005-2009 the best inside and out. I'd love to have another one.
People used to talk shit on the interior, but that hard plastic won't bubble up like the soft touch TPO material in the 2010-2014 can in hot climates.
I went from a 2007 GT to a 2010 GT, and now I'm in a 2018 GT.
The 2013-14 never really appealed to me. In my opinion, the sleek look of the 2010-12 became bloated for 2013.
I had no interest in the 2015-17 because they reminded me too much of a Fusion up front.
The 2018 facelift caught my attention because it looks more like a Mustang to me.
Once I drove one, the performance and sound sold me.
Honestly I love the interior in my S550 but I really liked the lay out of the S197s interior
The s197 has a nice interior, he has the base interior with ugly aftermarket seats so I dont know why he always talks about his interior. It's his interior that's the problem. Lol
im a huge ford guy but i would still pick the 2013 just because thats my newer dream mustang
I traded my 2011 for a 2017. Mammoth improvement. With the changes that came in 2018, I'm mixed. 18 changes I envy: HP bump, exhaust, steering wheel. What I like better in 17 (18 went backward in my book): lunch tray over the engine, front end looks. I really like the 17 front end better than 18.
2017 made less hp from the factory but man those motors and trannies were more robust
Don't care for the 13-14 front end.
The 11-12 front end is the most aggressive looking- couple that with 13-14 taillights- 👍👍

starwarsfan2614 unlimited power! Modern foxbody
The Boss 302 is a modern classic for sure.
the official power figures of the new 18/19 GT have been underrated
it closer to 480 crank horsepower and 420 WHP even with the new 10 speed Auto
and with tons of bolt on mods and E85 with the new Gen 3 Coyote engine already putting out 600 bhp as shown in StangMode
easily a 11 or high 10 sec car with drag tires
Lin Chester that’s the thing, stangmode doesn’t have “a ton of bolt ones”. It’s more or less just an intake and headers
@@dudeshark2471 he has a E85 tune with JLT intake and x-pipe and texas speed headers. So yea very little mods. If he got the GT350 intake manifold upgrade that will be another 20 to 30 hp gain with the E85 tune.
600+ bhp NA is kinda impressive.
If someone is crazy to put ITBs like those found in Ken Block Hoonicorn V1 Mustang did maybe it wont even need a Supercharger to make more power XD.
Of course the stock gearbox must go.
T56 Magnum XL.
It's not under rated, you're seeing the difference between independent dyno shops and the way a manufacturers read the power (more realistic). Heat, humidity, elevation, dyno type, dyno perameters ect will all change the numbers.
Rhe gt350 mani intake isn't an upgrade for the gen 3, only the custom cobra jet will be an upgrade.
@@WhoThisGuy515 mind you StangMode did a redyno after you guys roasted him for giving a false number. The new dyno is now SAE corrected and it still over 600bhp at the crank. 500 whp.
I love both cars. I love the 13 because of the power, the body style and the way the Moter wines out. And the 18 is sharp. Idk which one?
05-09 body style, 2018 interior/suspension/power train with the 4.6L 3V engine sound. Would be a sweet car.
I love the way the way those look. Definitely prefer the sound of the 2v 4.6 and the Coyote however
I'd take the 2018 all day long. The independent rear is a huge deal. A Mustang that can finally handle
This seems to be overlooked by so many. The live rear axle on the older model sucks unless you are drag racing.
I like how simple and clean the S197 interior was after the refresh, the S550's is really nice but there's a lot going on with the touch screen and all the digital stuff. It's nice and all but I think I just prefer the S197's
With the Brembo Pkg, not having Brembo brakes in the rear is acceptable. My new Caddy CT5-V Series has a similar set-up. The only difference being you can custom specify your choice of caliber colors (for all four) when ordering. Silver is standard. Candy red, Metallic blue, Metallic Bronze & Black are the choices.

I like it and think it’s cool
Been looking forward to this! Ford has been continuously upgrading!👍
Yes, but Chevy has been ahead since the start, the ls is the best v8 motor out there
@@willosbo9529 I've never been a fan of the S550 Mustang ever since it came out Ford basically turned it into a sports car
G shit they ruined such a perfect sexy majestic beast
Yea i already was iffy about the 15-17 but it grew on me slightly, the 18....wtf....it looks like a sad whale in the rearview
Ford has not been upgrading 💁🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🙄 they removed the focus rs, Fiesta st and all the other good cars 🤷🏽♂️ having a "mustang" as the main sports car isn't much of an option
After watching your videos I decided to get rid of my Kia and use my 2014 mustang get as my daily driver. I was babying the car and putting it in storage during the harsh winters here in Maine. I am now turning in the leased Kia and using my stang daily. I will be adding a turbo next year.
Nope..do what I did. I bought a used 2016 GT PP for 25G with 600 miles from a dealer in NJ back in May of 2017. Spending another fortune in mods...but will still be much cheaper then buying a new 2018 in the end. Ill be all in for 45G when done with a beast ready to take on all the tracks...see you all soon....back to the garage...
Not a fan of the S550, but thats a smart decision. Plus the 18 front end is ASS.
I'm an old fox body guy. But I can't wait till the day when I'm seated in a new mustang GT. You keep revving and I'll keep watching.
No wonder your Smurf suspension feels unimpressive if you are still on the stock struts and shocks.
Bilsteins aren't that expensive. Combine those with a large set of anti rolls bars and it transforms the car suspension wise.
That's what I am running, with the GT500 top strut mounts.
That’s what I was saying! Slap some bilstein adjustables, some thicker sway bars, a coilover set up with adjustable dampening, and the car would handle like a beast!
2011-2014 Mustang GT
Depends on how much the handling of the IRS means to you. The 18 motors are having issues so I'd say buy used
Real Steel Cars Not all of them. Just some of them.
What's going on with them? Don't tell me they put the wrong gaskets like they did the RS' lol
@@tonygant2448 engine tick. Some call it piston slap or rod knock. MANY have had their engines replaced...some twice
@@midwestsneakerhead6511 I know about 10 ppl with a 2018 and 9 of them have "the tick"
I put 17,700kms on my '18 10 speed and I haven't had a problem at all
I really liked the 2013's but I love the 2018's! I ordered a 2019 Mustang GT premium PP2 401A 6 speed manual in April and I am waiting on delivery. I should be getting it in about a week to a week and a half. I absolutely love the S550 styling! I test drove the 2018 and was instantly in love!
I am more interested in comparing an earlier S550 chassis mustang VS the 2018 upgrades
Me too
I love the old feeling of the s197s. Especially 05-09. The interior has gained an amazing old school feel over the years and i love it. The steering wheel is probably my favorite stock wheel of all time
Axle is as bad as they say. Better if you wanna build a drag car but Jesus that thing will hammer you
Seats are absurdly comfortable. Back seat is almost nonexistent
For a lover of American muscle who doesn’t have a ton of money/opportunities… the s197s are absurd grail
Great review. I'd take the '19 due to the 2018 first year engine and trans issues. Overall, Ford threw a touchdown with the new 10 speed. I would max option the checkboxes just the orange car shown. The fact that these new blocks can handle crazy power, I would go new. Dudeinblue is right. You won't get bored since Ford stepped it up all around with the GT.
Just bought a 2014 base model and I’m super impressed!!
2013 for the Win
I've been watching you for years, and I may not watch EVERY video. I still love your channel. TH-cam is ROUGH, but you'll always be considered a LEGEND. My absolute favorite video by you is the Cosworth Outback XT. I
11-14 GTs all day every day
Just picked a 2018 GT, it’s not the PP but it is the premium. Last 2018 in the lot. Got it for 35.5k at 0% APR. I’m so happy with it.
2014 was last year of mustangs looking like mustangs
2003-04 2013-14 are my absolute favorite years for mustang's in terms of looks. The 2017 gt350s are up there too
Only way I’d pick an s550 is for that 10R80
In my opinion, your Smurf Mustang obviously is still fine and good looking, however to keep the channel fresh it would be cool seeing a new story (next chapter) of Smurf and the new "main" car of the channel. Getting a the new mustang in blue and starting a new journey of mods and exciting journeys would be awesome to follow as a subscriber. Keep up the good work man really enjoy your content and videos! :)
2013-2014 mustang gt will for ever be my dream car. I pray I can get one, one day
I just bought a 2015 s550 and I could not be happier. Base with performance pack and recaros. If I could have afforded the 2018 with mangnaride and PP1 I would have bought it.
Great video as always.
If you want an engine, then get the older one. If you want a nice interior with better technology, get the newer one.
and the new one has better handling
AyyDynamic im gonna have to stop you there chief, both have the coyote engine, the s550 is even more capable than the s197. the only reason you would get an s197 is because of the more retro styling
What the 3rd gen coyote making way more power boosted
Elemental Phoenix well the live axle is better for the strip and if you want an all out drag build, the s197 is better.
Yea but ur paying for the extra mods or whatever they added to make it better, that price difference is huge. Id rather get a base S197 and build it better than the S550 for less. 50k? NOPE. Sub 20k on an S197 with what? 10-15k in mods? 30-35k for a fast better looking monster, just my 2 cents.
I love how most your content is about Fords. Your awesome man
The SN-197 looks a lot better and is cheaper. I would just get it to 600 hp eventually and it will win.
I owned a 2013 GT with manual transmission. It was a good car. It’s quick but first gear is pretty much useless. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, gears are pretty strong. With cold air kit, exhaust, and tune the car was great. I drive a 2018 royal crimson GT now. The 2018 drives a lot better that the 2013. It’s got more power, rides more comfortable and I’m more confident with it on mountain roads. I keep it clean and shined and it gets compliments every time I’m out.
The Coyote gen 3 is is miles ahead of the gen 1.
Not by much. I smoke gen 3
@@maximusvonce1381 I'm referring to tech. It has port and direct injection plus MUCH much more.

It is a very good engine. I would take the gen 2 though.
I'm putting a gen 3 in a 14 and giving it all the boost
The Gen 3 is vastly Superior to the Gen 1
Great comparison and change up form the usual format. I have been following you for years man keep up the awesome work!
The new mustangs in my opinion, including the Ecoboost mustangs, is a bang for your buck. I mean yea they can be pricey but look what you're getting.
Maxxas Crow that’s always been mustangs. People call them pricey now because they don’t understand that the market is all together getting more and more pricey.
The real bang for buck is getting a 13-14 GT for under 20k with the same wild power plant. Just drop a few grand in handling mods and ur good to go. All for still much less than the S550. Of course not talking about the ecobeast, but i mean if u wana compare that, a V6 S197 is like what 10k rn???? THAT is bang for buck
Maxxas Crow I had a 2016 ecoboost mustang. With a few mods and dyno tune it could run with the 5.0s.
Very good review been a fan of your channel for a long time and as of Monday I am now the owner of a 2018 mustang GT, looking forward to more videos!
The S197 interior is more comfortable than the S550, for the simple fact it’s roomier and the seats aren’t soo low to the floor. JMO
I didn't know that about the seats being lower....Is there really that much difference?
@@EyesRed I find the difference notable.
My 2013 S197 GT, is my pride and joy and have the most contentment out of it. That Coyote sounds great from cold start to full throttle.
I would rather have the exterior styling of the 2013 or even a 2015, but not the 2018-19. The styling got worse on the both the Camaro and Mustang for 2018-2019. That said, I freaking love the orange color, the independent rear suspension, and the better interior of the new Mustang. Great comparison!
I’m a total Chevy guy and when I rode in a friends 2016 mustang gt it amazed me with how fast it was stock and how much better it handled then my other friends 2006 gt
I like them both but the new mustangs are way beutier than the old(my opinion)
Comparing a 2013 base interior to a 2018 fully loaded premium interior isn’t exactly the best thing to do. I have a 2014 GT premium with factory navigation and I get to drive the fully loaded 2018 EcoBoost premium almost every day. Newer design inside? Yes. Not a huge difference though. Feels similar. Just updated. Base s197 mustangs inside feel pretty cheap. But so do the base s550’s compared to a fully loaded ones. The new big gauge cluster screen is very nice though!
Still prefer the front fascia of the '10-'12 over the '13-14
The headlights in my opinion are miles better on the 13-14. 10-12's headlights almost looked like it had 2 lazy eyes.
13-14 always looked like a catfish to me. Was never a fan
I like the 2012 boss 302 that is a mean lookin mofo. I am getting a boss and i am deciding between a 12 and 13. I like the options the 13 has like sync and the track apps comes on the 13 plus standard hid headlights which is big....but to me the 12 just looks better so i may go that route. You can put 13 headlights on a 12 theres guys on the forum that put together a swap kit so to speak to make it work. I like the "candy cane" tailights myself long as you tint the reverse light part. At night they look sweet and classic mustang. You can tell from a mile away that is a mustang. Dont get me wrong the 13 has bad ass tails too i like them alot they look good day or night but to me im fine with the 12 lights with slight mods (tint). Im fine with the look of the 12 boss headlights but i hate the halogens at night you cant see shit especially when you're used to HID and LED headlights like i am. The 13 boss is bad ass but the front end dont look as distinguished as the 12 imo it looks more like a regular 5.0 not as aggressive. I am still undecided which way ill go but im leaning to the 12 because i prefer its looks.
I will always prefer the 13-14 mustang! Love that style. Best looking Mustang imo.
2013 looks better
2013-14 Mustangs are the best platform for the mustang imo. If you modify the car yourself its much better to work on, its lighter but a considerable amount, IRS is cool but doesnt have the strength of the old live axle cars modified or stock. They have more interior room for big fellas but if you are a scrawny little guy the 550 is ok. You like smaller swoopy interiors, IRS, harder to wrench on, and now the droopy eyes then the newer 550 is for you. Men prefer the later s197 cars
Something a little bit different, I like this style of video. 👌🏽
Almost at 1 Million subs keep pushing hard bro!! you deserve it :D
Saturday afternoon, I saw a new 2019 Camaro. That thing is hideous! The Mustang is a far better looking car. This is coming from someone who owned a 1972 Camaro RS.
13/14 is the last of the American muscle cars, the 2015 and up are American sports cars. There is a big difference.
Newer will always be better but also less muscle car. There are much better sports cars than mustang GT and this is the reason I like 13'-14'. It is more rough. More of a experience to drive.
You hit the nail on the head.
As an S197 owner, my most regrettable mod was lowering springs. Crap ride, inability to customize ride height. Coilovers would be the business. Definitely much better value than spending $$ on headers! My DynoMax cat back sounds good enough;) also, the 2013-2014 GT500 has larger rear brake rotors, you just need the matching caliper brackets. Also, I would have done longer wheel studs and maybe 1/4 inch wheel spacers with my 2010 GT500 convertible 18x9.5 rims. I have caster/ camber plates, camber is at -2. That works well for track days, plus it looks so cool! Every worthwhile mod is available from several manufacturers, which is great. I do live in Wisconsin and garage the car in winter, unfortunately our road surfaces are not so smooth. Setting up this generation Mustang for road course duty isn’t cheap but Ford charges $6k to do it for you on an S550. I can’t afford to drive fast enough on public roads to satisfy my need for speed.
The answer is a 2015 Mustang
Just a great guy ! He is the best ! Doesn’t curse just is a true professional ! I just wish the next Mustang gets the hockey stick styling that was missing from this generation .
Damn iv been working to get this car since 2013 and now its 2019 and still cant afford it...:/
RIOT you’ll get it soon!! Mustangs been my dream car since the 05 model came out. Got a 2011 now, but plan on getting a 2013-2014 cause that is my dream car! Keep working and have faith! I love driving it, it’s my daily and brings a smile just looking at it. Took me forever to get it, but now that I have it it feels amazing. Living a dream
RIOT you can do it! I take delivery of mine in a few hrs!
So I'm glad I decided to check this vid out with you mentioning the watts links. I def got some floating going on, especially noticable when changing lanes
