I'm 60 years old and I'll buy a steamdeck this year.
That's great to hear mate 👍
I'm 58 and just ordered one tonight. 😁 I've been on consoles since the 80s so I'm really excited to try this one out!!!! 😎
In the 80s I got a vic 20 followed by a Commodore 64 before ending the decade with an Amiga A500 :)
Just sold my OG Steamdeck and ordered an OLED. Great bit of kit. Never too old, I'm 51 and really enjoy the SD
It really is an amazing bit of kit for sure. I’ve spent more time on it than anything the last 20 years lol
👏 👏 👏 exactly, age is just a number.
I’m 55 and got the OG version, is it worth the upgrade and which version did you go for?
@kevinconroy2014 I chose the 512GB version and put in a 1TB card. I upgraded on a whim and wasn't really expecting much, but the OLED screen really pops. Worth the upgrade to me.
@@kevinconroy2014 I don't think so personally. Wait until the steam deck 2 if you've got the OG
I am 40, but I still love gaming. I bought my Steam Deck OLED from Amazon Australia, and I love playing it after work. Great video.
Thanks mate. 10 years my junior lol. I love my steam deck. Thanks for watching 👍
Love it!! Makes me want one even more now actually seeing it properly 😮
Haha you still haven't but you will
Great video 👍🏻 looks amazing
Thanks for watching bro 👍
I recently got the older version of the Steam Deck after being greatly impressed following a friend letting me have a go on his.
I got a 2nd hand 64gb version from CEX after the price went down, (due to the OLED model being released), and have upgraded the storage with a 512gb micro SD card.
After being tempted ever since they first came out, (but thinking I'd never use it enough), I've barely put it down & think it could well be my favourite piece of new tech since the PSVR. I've mainly been playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown - a long-time favourite of mine.
Highly recommended if you like turn based strategy games and you can get the game, its' sequel and all the DLC for both really cheap these days.
Good video by the way & good luck with the channel!
Thanks Steve yeah it’s a great bit of kit. I’ve played more in last couple of weeks than ever. Mostly apex legends. I do like turn based strategy so will pick it up and give it a go. Cheers for the recommendation.
Lots more videos coming sstarting this week 👍🏻
Thanks for the great video. Mine comes in the mail in a few hours. I hope mine is as nice as yours. 2nd subscriber here. Enjoy your new toy. I am thinking of making mine my main computer. I have a wireless thing keyboard and mouse that will go into the docking station for it.
Thanks for the sub mate. Yeah I think I'm going to do the same. Mouse keyboard and monitor next purchase 👍
Great video! Dare I say an older gamer sir? Same here btw😂 SD OLED on order, looks amazing viz MK1.
Correct 50 years young
i cant get enough of unboxing vids is this normal🤣 im commenting by steam deck
Haha brilliant. I’m the same. In fact I’ve just finished filming a new one should be up soon 👍🏻
The Last of US!!! Is a good game.
I am 99 years old and just ordered I've been on consoles since 1945
What consoles were out back in 1945 lol
Pong
The Witcher 3 sir, it has great replay ability and a very rich story. It runs great on the steam deck as well.
Awesome recommendation. Thanks bud 👍
You might have missed some great games in the "Roguelite" genre in the last 5 years: Hades and Dead Cells. Both great for the deck.
Ori and the Blind Forest (and sequel: Will o the wisps) are metroidvania games that take advantage of the HDR oled screen.
2023 was one of the best years for gaming ever, so there's plenty to pick from there.
The Game Awards gave the game "Sea of Stars" the best indie game of 2023, which itself is a homage to Chrono Trigger.
If you don't mind mucking around, getting emulation running via Emu Deck is a worthwhile thing to do, as it opens up every console up to PS3/Xbox 360 that can be emulated.
The Steam Deck is really the greatest console of all time when you factor emulation in.
Thanks for the tips. Just downloaded Hades 👍
Sir, If you are a fan of action rpgs you should try Ys VIII. Runs well on the steam deck. Cheers!
Thank you kindly Kim 👍
The past few years alone have had some phenomenal titles, I've had a big indie itch this year too. Here's some games:
Baldurs Gate 3
Sea Of stars
Dave The Diver
Dredge
Gravity Circuit
Palworld
Stray
Hogwarts Legacy
Dead Space
Resident evil 2, 3, 4 , 8: Village
Halls of Torment
Vampire Survivors
Chained Echoes
A Plague Tale: innocence
A Plague Tale: Reqiuem
Spider-Man
A variety list with indies double A's & triple A's Enjoy!
That’s sweet bro thank you 🤩
Don’t forget the masterpiece of Horizon Zero Dawn!
@@QualityScrub yea most of the PlayStation ports have been phenomenal, except for the last of us and uncharted. I cannot recommend those two, they are not good ports.
You definitely have to try Hades
Will do. Cheers for the suggestion 👍🏻
ordered mine last Wednesday so hopefully not got long to wait and looking forward to it hows yours been since u got it.?
It's been amazing. I love it so much, it's really brought me back into gaming. I'd recommend joining some of the Facebook groups. Steam deck communities full of everything you need to know 👍
@@Electro-t that's great to hear and will fore sure look into it

@@Electro-t thank you 🙏
Enshrouded has been my go to game lately, but it's not compatible with steam deck just yet.
Let’s hope they make it compatible soon 🫰🏻
You should check out The Witcher 3 wild hunt great game.
I got that on someone's recommendation in the steam sales. Still to play it yet 👍
My comment is this, “you’re really good at showing the front!” 😂
And you’re breathing pretty heavily.. settle down man. It’s just a fancy gaming tablet.
I have lung disease in both lungs bro
Try eve echoes and eve online, fallout 4. 9:26 Pm.
Cheers for the recommendation
You sound like Ray Winston 😂
Now that’s a compliment hahaha 🤣
@@Electro-t my fiancé is a cockney and she loved your video, keep it up and great review, I just bought one earlier today.

Thanks for recomendations mrlazy 👍
can u breathe alright bro?
I have COPD unfortunately 😔
thank you sir for the great reviews!
Can it play call of duty or fortnite?
It can but you’d have to install windows on it due to the anti cheat software these titles use not being supported on Linux. Older call of duty games work fine
After the first Steam Deck had no vibration I wouldn’t buy the Oled Steam Deck like vibration isn’t important even the Nintendo Switch has vibration were not in the 80’s anymore where there was no vibration
The original Steam Deck definitely had vibration, as does the oled. I have both
If you want really vibration, just connect your SD with dual shock or dual sense controller. As simple as that.
Puffed out just from opening a box ??? Lmao. You need exercise not another gaming console 😂
I've got COPD but thanks for your concern ya twat
I stopped gaming when I was 57. I am 60 now and because of videos such as yours reviewing the Steam Deck. I am planning to purchase one and get back into gaming. I am retired and have lots of time on my hand.
This is brilliant. Well done and why not eh.
