Hey man, thank you for this video I'm pumped to try sunlight/moonlight. I've had my deck for a year now and go through phases of heavy use to no use at all. This is a game changer for me.
I had to decide between a Steam Deck & a PS5 last Fall. I’m so glad I went with the Steam Deck! I can play almost all the same games portably! Plus a great variety of emulators. It’s everything I liked about the Switch turned up a notch.
great video so glad and lucky to score one in local retro game store about 6 months back to try out. probably buy a new one possibly Oled in future and a dock. cheers and subscribed.
I hate to be locked to store fronts but the fact that steam keys are available at many great digital stores is amazing for deals like humble ,fanatical, and many others. Just like with ps remote play there is game pass (don’t know the interaction with the actual console) but it is amazing to add to your library for a limited time. I have like 2500+ steam games and there still countless games I only have access to and haven’t let my subscription to game pass lapsed since. I personally fell in love with pc a long time ago and always wanted an actual mobile version because a laptop was just too cumbersome and expensive. Love my steam deck even if it’s mostly to play in bed when I can’t get on my pc.
Gotta say, as someone new to the gaming comunity, I own an old laptop and a xbox one, so the steam deck is a game changer for me, I got the lcd version because its what I could pay for lol and Im morr than happy! Love the video

Nice Video ! I also got an LCD Version and absolute happy with it. Upgraded it to 1 tb ssd by myself it has become my main gaming system, i also got an old gaming desktop pc and a gaming notebook but to be honest the Deck with the docking station is my favorite. I also bought a pretty fast samsung sd and installed Windows 11 on it, so i can use some anticheat games and also use Netflix & Prime Video App with movie downloads. This is the best piece of hardware i bought in the past few years. i know it´s not not the high end gaming machine but to be honest the emulation of old systems catches me as well as indie games like Project Zomboid ( which plays great on Deck ). I also play God of War, State of Decay 2 and Tekken 7 or Street Figther 6 and they work perfect maybe not with max. details but as i always say : The best graphics do not make the best game. It has now become my most used pc, I can game in 4K on my main rig, but then I'm tied to my desk and the couch is way more comfy 😂. It's so convenient and I keep a couple cheap Amazon docks around just for the opportunity to play wherever, when I get some free time 🙂 Like you I adopted early and missed the OLED release, I may buy the upgrade but now I have to wonder if waiting for Steam Deck 2 is a better choice..
About streaming games from PC, Steam has this functionality built in. I don't know if you can use it for non local play, but you can stream games from your PC to your Steam Deck locally at the very least.
I just purchased a portable USB-C OLED monitor like a year pior to the OLED version dropping. There are advantages to the OLED version. It runs cooler due to a beefier Cooler as a benefit of the OLED not requiring a backlight.

If it makes you feel any better I made the same ”mistake” of buying the lcd right before the oled was announced. Because I am how I am I ofc sold my lcd and bought the oled. Which other than the battery life wasnt worth the hassle
Thank you so much! Haha yea I wish I wouldve started creating videos sooner. Its been a fun process! I do have an oled now as well, loving it absolutely
I have my LCD steam deck connected to a TV with a dock mouse and keyboard headset etc. I can disconnect it and play hand held on the couch whenever I'm want but I have been using it docked a lot, playing CS2, and other fps games. My 15 Year old computer can't run CS2, and having a larger screen is sweet. I do plan on getting a new gaming PC soon to get past the 60fps limit and to keep up with windows 12 since windows 10 will be losing support next year and my current PC build is not able to support windows 11. I plan on running Linux on my old PC after I get my new one.
Such a good video. You’re going to go far if you continue making content, you have such a professional setup, amazing video set up and editing, and some awesome research. I got my OLED model yesterday as my first it’s such a more powerful handheld than I expected, tips like these go a long way since I didn’t know about half of these
nice video, i actually switched to linux on my big rig after 2 months of tinkering with my steam deck, its been about 2 years, no more windows for me lol
Great vid. I absolutely love the steam deck. It really reignited my passion for pcs and games. To be able to play all my steam games anywhere is just so goddamn cool to me.
I ended up getting an oled as everywhere I kept reading how great an upgrade it is until I played on my friends lcd and honestly for me as I always play plugged in (due to playing in bed winding down after a long day at work) it’s just fine, you can blast that brightness up and it still looks fantastic so I if I had played on a lcd first I actually would have just gone with the original as the price is amazing! £299 is crazy for an all round entertainment system, aaa games, movies, music, my audiobooks and so many open source plugins makes this the best tech I have personally ever owned.
What a fantastic video. Subscribed. Loved every bit of it, your pacing was perfect, cuts were perfect. background was not distracting but eye pleasing. Audio sounded great, all of it was good and I learned something about Emudeck. Thankjs for the video, easiest subscribe ever
I loved the video, but in regards of moonlight and remote playing, steam has already its on way called like that, Steam Remote Play which may come really handy if all you plan on playing is steam games that way but havent checked it out much myself. Anyways great vid and love the format!
I've had a Deck for a year. Want to shout out Steam Remote Play and remote play together feature. As well as the Linux application Heroic Launcher for letting me and my spouse play games together on the couch.
Xbox also has remote play available via Xbox for Windows it was a feature rolled out during the Xbox one era. Remote play is built into the Steam OS, it has been for like 10 yrs. The Steam Deck has touch sensors built into the center portion of the analog sticks. So far the o ly games i bumped into that use them are Prey and some job simulator

Im in the same situation, i bought it before they announced the OLED... I don't need the OLED, I don't need the OLED!
I've got a decent rig setup to play just about any title on high settings. I've owned my Deck for about a year and have logged more hours on it than my main PC. This thing has been amazing and I can't recommend it enough. I put about 150 hours into RDR2 just on the Deck.
You know thinking about it you could also install streaming services like Netflix / Hulu and what not and watch movies and shows handhelds or connected to the tv, just like the Wii U used to lol loved that thing
I had the ROG Ally and really enjoyed it. Sadly, I had to return it. I did, however end up getting a steam deck recently. I have to say, it's really good and I haven't noticed a difference at all with the 2 systems other than having to side load windows to run all the games I wanted. Still my favorite console. Haven't touched my other consoles in a while. Lol
I just got mine a week ago! I find myself getting confused because I’m not versed enough in PC. That being said, it’s so much fun. I can’t figure out the EMU DECK though, I keep having setup issues.
I bought the official docking station when i was gifted a steam deck LCD (yes I am spoiled). Only real issue I have is it can be a pain in the butt to get my 4k tv to recognize the system output (which is likely an issue with the tv itself). Otherwise it works just fine. I do recommend it due to where the system's vents are, but you can get off brand and probably still work just fine. I heard you could install non steam games, but I refuse to dual boot windows. I dont want their control freak junk on my deck lol Its cool you can remote play from ps5 or pc though. News to me
The Steam Deck can be bought from GameStop at a cheaper price than Valve. I know because I bought ours on Monday. It is one of the sweeter devices I have ever used. Right now I am using it to Stream games from my Series X and PS5. Last night I played Rise of The Ronin (a PS5 exclusive) all night long on ours.
@gg_sheed Yep, but with a much better warranty than Valve offers, I can tell you that. Any warranty that lets me walk in and say replace it right there on the spot is the one for me. Mine is for two years and I can extend it. Addendum- I have bought all of my consoles starting with the launch of the Xbox 360 at GameStop with the same warranty. Just recently, they replaced our launch PS5 for a Slim with the same warranty. I also had to get our launch Series X replaced, but that was my mess up. I plugged an LED sign into it, and the console went ballistic (long but funny story). They honored the warranty even though I broke the damn thing. What I'm saying is when they sell you a warranty, they really stand by it. I have heard horror stories about the company Valve uses for repairs that take weeks to fix, no thank you.
I have a nice PC and I loooove streaming to my OLED deck. Like playing Uncharted 4 maxed out at 90fps *in my hands* makes me feel like I'm the future lol
5:21 I had to follow a tutorial to get the rockstar launcher on the steam deck so I could play RDR2, its very awkward but worth it! I love how it gives you the freedom to enter desktop mode and do what you want. Secondly, which dock do you recommend?
I can 100% recommend using sunshine to stream from your PC if you're in your house. Imperceptible input lag (and Im sensitive to that) and you can play games at 90fps at full res./settings and it looks wayyyyyyyyyy better than the SD rendering it.
Throughly appreciate this video. I love my steam deck but hestiate to add any emulatoon due to my limited knowledge with emulation period. I definitely want to play some old school games in the future
I also have the LCD. I wish I had waited, but I still love my deck. I don't really have the money to spend for the oled even if I sell my lcd model. Currently playing deep rock galactic survival and cult of the lamb.
1:26 some games do require always online but if you check the deck verified status. It'll mention it. Also sometimes they require you to be online for the first time ya start up the game on bootup. then it's fine if ya quit and relaunch it later
Gf loves her OLED 1tb model. Although yesterday she played 6hrs straight, docking it to the TV and the steamdeck overheated, fans screamed and everything came to a halt. Had to let it cool down for 15mins
Absolutely great video. Enunciating all words will help you make even better videos. (Library) i liked and subscribed looking forward to seeing you grow.

Such a good video. You’re going to go far if you continue making content, you have such a professional setup, amazing video set up and editing, and some awesome research. I got my OLED model yesterday as my first it’s such a more powerful handheld than I expected, tips like these go a long way since I didn’t know about half of these
Thank you!! Yea I’ve been slowly getting equipment all ready before starting my channel haha. Def going to try to get better with each video!
nice video, i actually switched to linux on my big rig after 2 months of tinkering with my steam deck, its been about 2 years, no more windows for me lol
I also have the LCD, but I've had it from the beginning, but I'm absolutely happy with the LCD and see no reason at all to go for the OLED.
You certainly know how to do videos. Informative and straight to the point. Keep it up.
Thank you!!
Great vid. I absolutely love the steam deck. It really reignited my passion for pcs and games. To be able to play all my steam games anywhere is just so goddamn cool to me.
Thank you!!! Yea same here I find myself gaming a lot more
I ended up getting an oled as everywhere I kept reading how great an upgrade it is until I played on my friends lcd and honestly for me as I always play plugged in (due to playing in bed winding down after a long day at work) it’s just fine, you can blast that brightness up and it still looks fantastic so I if I had played on a lcd first I actually would have just gone with the original as the price is amazing! £299 is crazy for an all round entertainment system, aaa games, movies, music, my audiobooks and so many open source plugins makes this the best tech I have personally ever owned.
Nice! I should be getting my oled this weekend, I’m excitedb
you dont need moonlight. just add games to the steam library and you can stream them directly to the deck. steam handles it very well
What a fantastic video. Subscribed. Loved every bit of it, your pacing was perfect, cuts were perfect. background was not distracting but eye pleasing. Audio sounded great, all of it was good and I learned something about Emudeck. Thankjs for the video, easiest subscribe ever
Wow comments like these make my entire day haha. Thank you so much! Glad I could help
I second this.
Mine on its way bro !! Also my freind will remove the 96gb into the internal storage and switch it for a 1T 🎉
I loved the video, but in regards of moonlight and remote playing, steam has already its on way called like that, Steam Remote Play which may come really handy if all you plan on playing is steam games that way but havent checked it out much myself.
Anyways great vid and love the format!
Thank you! Yea steam link works good too but I mentioned sunshine/moonlight because it gives a lot more functions
You earned a SUB! I knew a couple of these but it was still worthy of a full watch. Thanks and hope the best for your channel!
Thank you!! 🙏🏾 maybe for the next one I’ll get into more advanced tips
I've had a Deck for a year. Want to shout out Steam Remote Play and remote play together feature. As well as the Linux application Heroic Launcher for letting me and my spouse play games together on the couch.
Thats amazing! Thanks for the shout out, I wish more couch co op games and features were a thing
Hey, leaving aside the fact that I truly liked the video, I enjoyed even more your vibe and joyful tone. You've got yourself a sub from Argentina, GG!
Thank you for the kind words!! Really keeps me motivated to make more vids haha
Same! I’m playing hades on my deck now and I can’t put it down haha
You know thinking about it you could also install streaming services like Netflix / Hulu and what not and watch movies and shows handhelds or connected to the tv, just like the Wii U used to lol loved that thing
Great point yes! Yea the Wii U was a decent console but it just had poor marketing lol
Great stuff! I use Greenlight to stream XSX and GamePass Cloud gaming to the deck. Highly recommended.
Yes I should’ve mentioned greenlight as well!
Lol
Nice! Haha yea honestly I haven’t touched my PS5 in a while either
Such objective content, what a great video! I'll definitely buy mine.
Ayyy Glad I could help! Haha happy gaming
I just got mine a week ago! I find myself getting confused because I’m not versed enough in PC. That being said, it’s so much fun. I can’t figure out the EMU DECK though, I keep having setup issues.
Idk how u don’t have more subs bro. Great video
I appreciate it! Haha probably cause I’m just starting out but every sub counts 🙏🏾
I dont want their control freak junk on my deck lol
Its cool you can remote play from ps5 or pc though. News to me
Haha hey if you were gifted it you deserve it! Yea some tvs are weird with the docks. But glad I could show something new!
Remote play PS5?! 🎉 Love your delivery style, dude. I hope this channel grows. Subbed.
I think GameStop only sells refurbished ones tho right?
@gg_sheed
Yep, but with a much better warranty than Valve offers, I can tell you that.
Did the same got a deck 1 month before the oled came out 😂. Thankfully was able to sell the LcD for a good price and put it towards the Oled Limited 😊
Niceee! The OLED limited looks dope, I might consider that one too if I can find it used
I have a nice PC and I loooove streaming to my OLED deck. Like playing Uncharted 4 maxed out at 90fps *in my hands* makes me feel like I'm the future lol
Great quality videos, congrats on the channel. Hope you get lots of subs. (Subscribed 😊)
Thanks for the sub!! Let’s gooo, haha I hope so too
5:21 I had to follow a tutorial to get the rockstar launcher on the steam deck so I could play RDR2, its very awkward but worth it!
Facts! I think sunshine/moonlight is better than the native steam link
Great stuff, will help people for sure. Have a sub!
Appreciate you Nathan!!! I’ll keep making videos like these 😌
Throughly appreciate this video. I love my steam deck but hestiate to add any emulatoon due to my limited knowledge with emulation period. I definitely want to play some old school games in the future
It’s pretty easy to setup with emudeck! You should def give it a shot
Great video! I had no idea most of these were options.
its my favourite gadget of 2023 as well
great video
I also have the LCD. I wish I had waited, but I still love my deck. I don't really have the money to spend for the oled even if I sell my lcd model. Currently playing deep rock galactic survival and cult of the lamb.
I feel you the lcd is still great for the money
1:26 some games do require always online but if you check the deck verified status. It'll mention it. Also sometimes they require you to be online for the first time ya start up the game on bootup. then it's fine if ya quit and relaunch it later
Good tip!
Gf loves her OLED 1tb model. Although yesterday she played 6hrs straight, docking it to the TV and the steamdeck overheated, fans screamed and everything came to a halt. Had to let it cool down for 15mins
Oh really? What game was being played? And was the screen on the device the entire time
@@gg_sheed sun haven. No the device screen was off
Absolutely great video. Enunciating all words will help you make even better videos. (Library) i liked and subscribed looking forward to seeing you grow.
Haha yea I usually have trouble saying Library for whatever reason 😅 thanks so much nick!! Hoping to get better with each video I make
@@gg_sheeddon’t listen to these folks bruh. This and “ask” always seem to trigger a certain group of individuals when they hear it from people who look like us.
This channel is going to blow up fast! Great video!
I have a steam deck and I can say that when I don't have Internet connection I wasn't able to play half of my single player games so it's needed to connect to WiFi at first for some games to begin with
Yea I hate games that require that. You are correct that sometimes you need to connect to wifi first. Or explicitly go into offline mode
What kind of "case" do you have on your PS5? @3:00. It looks sick.
Thanks for great enthusiasm and passion for gaming! :)
Because of your channel I found yesterday, I've ordered my Steamdeck.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge 💪🏻👍😁
Greetings from Germany
