Sanskrit is the world’s oldest language. Some may argue that Tamil is, but don’t worry-both are Bharatiya (Indian) languages. The majority of our ancient texts and scriptures are written in Sanskrit, and many Bharatiya languages have evolved from it. One of these is Hindi, which is considered a dialect of Sanskrit.

No hindi is not a dialect of Sanskrit it just has most words common with sanskrit(if you remove Arabic and farsi words) and follows same script as sanskrit that is devnagri but sanskrit is also written in sharda script and a Sanskrit specefic tamil script

Once you are familiar with all the characters you can dive deep .if you are familiar with Americans comics ,Grant Morrison adapted Mahabharat in graphic novel format and the series name is "18 Days"

Brother, in Bharath (India), we have more than 19,000 languages... So, if we wanna get a hold on the scriptures, we need to learn Sanskrit and Tamil which are the 2 of the oldest languages in the whole World!(Sanskrit is the oldest and the most cultured language in the world). As a person from southern Bharat (state of Tamil Nadu) whose mother tongue is Tamil and a proud Bharatiya Hindu who knows 8 languages (French, Spanish, English, Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam and Telugu) other than Tamil including Sanskrit, I'm damn sure that your interest towards this culture is immense and deeply appreciated! And, Hindi is one of the languages from this country which is the 3rd most popular language in the whole world. But, it doesn't have a rich history or anything like that when compared to other languages from here (I'm not downgrading Hindi). Yea, it is a good language, one needs to learn it if he/she needs to communicate with most. Hindi is like a linguafranka for this country but there are people who didn't know Hindi as well. In the end, there are a ton of different and distinct languages in this country which have their own scripts and writing systems etc etc... learning all of'em is not humanly possible. So, if one needs to understand the culture and read scripters, Sanskrit and Tamil are the 2 needed languages. And if one needs to communicate, mostly Hindi and other languages like Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, etc are needed to be learnt depending upon the region in Bharath (India). As you know, Sanathana Dharma (Hindu) scriptures and heritage are immense and conditions deep knowledge and understanding about literally anything and everything. We often take it for granted. Your effort is amazing and deeply appreciated by everyone! Thank you so much bro and all the very best on your journey towards enlightenment and liberation! Jai Sri Ram 🙏🙏🙏

Both Hindi and Sanskrit is from the Indo Aryan family tree which includes Latin as well which means English ,so from the point of view of yours both Hindi and Sanskrit is equally easy and hard according to your mental capability but learning Hindi will be much practical and easier for you because then you will have more content and more people to practice and you will get also opportunities to interact with another which will motivate you to learn further So the choice is yours and you will be shocked to know that Hindi Sanskrit and English do have a lot of common words

Sanskrit is the ancestor of all modern North Indian languages which includes Hindi (and its many dialects), Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Nepali, Sinhalese (predominantly spoken in Sri Lanka), Gujarati, Marathi, Marwari, Konkani, Odia, Sindhi, and Kashmiri. The South Indian languages are distinct, but have a lot of shared religious terminology because of millennia of shared Dharmic tradition. Sanskrit is to Indian language what Latin is to European language.
What I say next will piss off a lot of people in the comments, but the most current consensus among linguists is that Sanskrit, while old, is derived from a reconstructed older language called Proto Indo-European (PIE) which our common ancestors spoke. PIE is the language from which all European languages, Iranian languages, and North Indian languages developed, obviously with differences creeping in over time due to interaction with other languages and environments. The claims that it is the oldest language or that all languages derive from it come from a place of post-colonial insecurity.

Hanuman defeated Kaliyuga "the guy owner of Kaliyug", pretty badly.. that time, Kailyuga said " that he would never enter the place Hanuman" stays.. Kaliyug actually means "Corruption, S*x obsessed society, flesh eating addiction, Less focus and Easy distractions, etc.. Btw,, we all feel sad that we didn't learn Sanskrit in School, But our Parents read it.. Govt. needs to work on it..

Sanskrit will be easier for you to learn then Hindi from and English speaker. .. Both English and Sanskrit languages belong to the Indo-European language family and have numerous cognate terms. Innumerous words like "Mortal", "Feet", "End", "Path", "Mother", "Father" and the names of the numbers (1-10) are cognates of English and Sanskrit, along with other Indo-European languages like German, Latin, French or Persian. However, this list is strictly of the words which is taken from Sanskrit.
