It's so lovely buying fabric, yarn or other crafting supplies as souvenirs of your trip. You'll get endless pleasure, not only from the garments you'll make, but from the memories you now have of the places you visited every time you wear the item! 💜

Wow! Such a wonderful trip. I love, love, love your choice of gorgeous fabrics. I look forward to hearing about your visit to the fashion institute and am looking forward to seeing what you create out of those beautiful fabrics. Our July heat wave appears to have ended. That is not to say we won't have another one in August. Our summers are short here, so I don't grumble too much about the heat. There is a beautiful, resfreshing rain this morning that is supposed to last for a day or two. Hope your sew jo returns soon. 🌻🌻🌻 Bernadette

Lovely fabrics. We went to NY to celebrate my 50th, I am now 72. Sadly it was a time when I hadn’t sewn for a few years so didn’t visit the fabric district. However I do regularly visit Liberty and I have a few pieces that I really should sew up. My grandmother trained as a dressmaker at Liberty and her sister trained as a Milner. Every time I go I imagine my grandma climbing that staircase. ❤️

Hello, thank you for your comments. You have such a strong historic connection to Liberty and dressmaking. So glad for you that you can visit whenever you are nearby. I can only imagine your der grandma on that beautiful staircase at Liberty. Happy sewing

Hi Deb! What a treat this AM over my morning coffee to see your beautiful fabric purchases from your epic trip!! Thank you for sharing. I vote for the Patina blouse for your Liberty fabric. The open neck will give you necklace options and I'm not sure how the Pussybow bow will lay in the Tawna Lawn. Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

You are right about the Fashion Institute of Technology being amazing! One thing that surprises most folks is that FIT is actually part of our public State University of New York system here in New York and thus tuition is much more affordable than the outstanding private schools such as New York University (NYU). Admission is highly competitive but having a degree from FIT can open doors in the best ateliers. I live about 3 hours away (by train or bus) from the city in rural upstate NY and watching your video is reminding me that I am overdue for a city shopping trip! It will be a bit sad though since Swatch the dog at Mood is no longer there, having crossed the Rainbow Bridge 2 years ago. Thanks for sharing❤️

Hello, THank you for your wonderful detailed comments about the FIT in NYC. So interesting that it is a public State Uni - I am not surprised it is so hardt o get into with the high competition, and the degree being so worthwhile and well recognised in the industry. Aww what a shame that Swatch the doggie is no longer at Mood, I would have loved to meet him/her. Have a great adventure next time you go and think of me!!

Thank you for the nudge to go to Liberty! I’ll be in London in October and have been internally debating whether it’s worth going or not. I’m now leaning heavily toward a strong yes! I’m glad you had a fun trip!
