The fabrics are lovely and so vibrant. I have recently made the bestie bag and it comes together very easily. When hubby saw it , he requested one in green so he can use it to put his camera bits and pieces in when he's out and about with his camera 😂. I've also made the maeve skirt which also comes together easily and is comfy to wear😊
Beautiful fabric choices, I’ve made 3med and 1 small bestie bags, they sell well too, I have 4 cut ready to sew and more in my plans, really fun to sew too
Such beautiful fabrics! My husband bought me a gift certificate to Fabric Godmother for Christmas but I’m still mulling over what to buy with it - shipping to Canada is pricey so I have to make sure I’m choosing some “must have” fabrics! I’m glad you saw the northern lights - we saw them for the first time up at our cottage this past summer - they were stunning.
I've made 2 Whitcomb tops in viscose one in lady mcelroy 🎉with soft ribbing on sleeves and band it's my go to top especially with my prima pattern September 2020 wide leg linen pants 👖 😀 ps prima pattern best easiest pant pattern you should look that up your style
Omg Alison i bought some of the same fabrics, don't we have impeccable taste😄😄 look forward to seeing them made up I think the Jersey will be drew ( a bit predictable 😆) but the gingham something really summery i think
Oh my goodness - I have serious fabric envy - your fabrics are gorgeous. I haven't looked at any sales - my husband lost his job just before Christmas so I'm having to seriously rein in my spending for the foreseeable future 😢
Yep, loads of patterns that “just sit there” but this is the year to dust them off!! Same with fabrics- going to be inventive!! Love all your new fabrics. Happy Sewing😊. Lynne
I am one of the few sewists who haven't bought the Bestie Bag pattern yet. I still might. Your top and Mave skirt mash sounds very interesting. Yes, I have purchased a fair few patterns that I haven't ever sewn up, at least not yet.
Some beautiful fabrics Alison but I’m trying to be good again this year. I’m sure I’ll wobble as the months go by!! I’ve made 3 Bestie bags so far. 2 medium and 1 small one (bought the extension pattern) I use them all the time. I know what my AGFN gifts will be this year! 😀. Have fun.
Hi Alison - love your new fabrics. Yes the Bestie bag is fabulous. I made the big one for my granddaughter in denim for Christmas. I made mine with no hardware - just a matching zip to go with the dark denim main fabric with a tie dye interior lining - all fabrics I had in my stash. My idea was it would be big enough for school/college folders etc - it's very flexible in the denim as it folds up. And as she is a bit alternative, she can customise it to suit herself with chains and pins etc. I did give her some Japanese cuddly toy key chain as well - I fit it in one of the inside pockets😎 it was an easy make - I did follow the instructions carefully. They divide very nicely into stages so I was able to do it in December grabbing 15-20 minutes to complete another step. It would probably only take a couple of hours from start to finish though. I am going to make another and it has even encouraged my daughter to make one!! Happy New Year - see you soon. x
Stunning fabrics Alison I love your confidence in Your colours. I’m still scared to go out of my comfort zone with bright colours I’ve made a few Bestie bags which are just great. The only think I change is add zipper pockets inside as the pockets in the pattern don’t work for me as everything falls out🤦♀️. Happy sewing
Thank you for sharing your sewing thoughts and plans for January and beyond. Your fabrics are lovely, and I agree that those colours really suit you. I am beginning to recognise some of the pattern names and designers/companies, especially the Bestie Bag, as so many vloggers have mentioned it recently. I do like your denim fabric, Alison and am looking forward to seeing what you make. Happy New Year to you and your family. 😂❤🎉 🇦🇺 🪃
Lovely fabrics Alison...and yes made a few Besties as presents and more cut out! I am currently organising my patterns and getting prints done that are still sitting in my downloads! Looking forward to the virtual sews.
I will be watching yo even more avidly as I have just sent for the Mave skirt pattern and the Bestie bag pattern. I will be very interested to hear your comments on making them.
OMG I bought the same first 3 fabrics you showed except I got the black animal in the jersey. I am the same colouring as you but have never had my colours done glad to know I am on the right track ❤❤
We’re twinning You can do your colours on the Trinny London website. Click on match to me, add your details and it gives you make up recommendations but if you scroll down it gives you your colours too
Beautiful fabrics and how funny I have just finished my whitcomb top, I do like it but want to try the 3/4 sleeves next, my tips would be to reduce the width of the ribbing if using for cuffs and hem band and then you can reduce the seam allowance as it’s 1.5cm which you don’t need for attaching bands I would also lengthen a little if making the cropped version as it is quite short 😊
Well I enjoyed seeing what you bought/plans etc. I dived into the Lady McElroy sale and am awaiting a little haul from there too - mostly floral lawns, so some summer blouses coming up!
Happy new year Alison! The northern lights looked spectacular! How fabulous you got to see them! It was waaay too cloudy here unfortunately 😢 Gorgeous selection of pattens. You’ll love the Bestie and the hoodie looks gorgeous! Happy sewing!
I couldn't resist some of the sales. Some sweatshirting from 1st for fabrics and the cream colourway of the atelier jupe fabric tgats on the le hoodie pattern. Only half a metre as its planned for a drew. I've got so many patterns on my laptop, I was sticking the anderson blouse together last night, I get them printed if over 40 pages or not in a rush. I've got so many plans on stash hub not enough hours 😂
Lovely vlog thank you ❤ I purchased the same fabrics as you at FG sale and the making waves - such a colourful parcel 😍 great minds hey! My Davenport is cut out and too small too - if you want to consider selling your cut pattern DM me. Happy New Year 🎉
I'm a b*gger fordownloading pdfs, especially if they'r on offer, (usually Pattern Emporium friday half price) and also when the big 4 are on a half price sale. I also order really wacky patterns that I have no idea when I could possibly wear them!I really must make inroads into my stash!
Love your fabrics ❤ not a sewing question but you mentioned Aurelius notification, is that an app? I’d love to see them and 2025 is meant to be potentially good for it. 😊
Excellent Alison. So organised. Super fabrics. Love the denim
