NG7 Hodrick one-shots you. I've even seen trolls where people in ng7 summon him, go somewhere he can't reach (likely could be the ai isn't up for it.) and see how many invaders get one shot.
I think it's because this version is a boss summons. If he did parry the boss, it would only make more sense for him to go into a combo He does definitely know how to ripote normally though. Hell, go fight him at Firelink lol

Assuming his riposte damage is anything like summoned Hodrick anyway. But yeah, that could make the fight too easy for that boss... wish they would have programmed the riposte tho. That way I could replicate my Iron Tarkus fun but with The Master Of The Rags... i mean sword
I'm a Sword Master simp but he doesn't actually do the stab after parrying. Pretty sure it's intentional as he's supposed to be an earlier summon and they don't want to make it too hard for players at the start to kill him and or get his katana.
The other thing is he isn't supposed to riposte because as a summon he's programmed to fight bosses. Even though the boss can be riposted, for some reason the AI doesn't do it for summons (specifically the summons you use to fight bosses). No clue why...

Yeah. Everyone who actually played the game, knows what a BEAST hodrick is. Unless your game is flawless, he will kick your ass so hard, you'll feel it when youre at the bonfire again. Especially weaponart and riposte have so much dmg. And hes tanky too.

In video games usually there is balance: if someone have tons of armor and HP usually he don't deal too much damage, if someone has just a weapon then he deals shitton of damage but dies in one hit. That's why this match was bs, coz it was just oneway massacre.
@@limonbattery I’d imagine the developers made it so that the NPC invaders, summons, etc only parry player-like characters. They likely won’t recognize any parryable attacks from bosses

I don’t have any conclusive evidence that proves this, but whenever some NPCs with parry shields take vast amounts of damage, they will, on the rare occasion, parry spam. I’ve had that happen with Hodrick and Halflight on those rare occasions. Likely a programmed “panic mode” for NPCs. That or their AI bugs out
Hodrick deals like four times more damage per hit than Sword master. And yet, he can actually buff himself with power within and the Warm pyromancy to get healed anyways. The only way for SM to win was the parries and riposte, and we now know how went it.
Headless likely wins. Surprisingly, the vast majority of enemies in Sekiro is not actually immune to terror, meaning that the Headless and the Sichimen Warrior will beat basically anything.
