I love it how in first phase gael moans in pain when staggered a lot and sounds like a near death old bear, and the 2nd phase he's just like HERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH fucking unleashing hollowed souls on your ass and doing palatine vs yoda level flips lol
7:44 The build-up of the song, the lightning in the background, the perfectly timed and synced jump from Aldritch and Pontiff, Gael struggling, Aldritch and Pontiff hanging in the air for a brief moment before crashing down, and the song reaching its climax as both Aldritch and Pontiff hit the ground. Watching that sequence had my jaw drop on the floor.
Aldrich’s arrows actually have some fairly nice detail. Hard to notice when you’re running for dear life away from one of the deadliest attacks in the game.
That's because they're Gwyndolin's arrows (which cannonically survives after the fight with aldritch) which were already very detailed in DS1 as well as just as deadly
Pontiff and Aldrich was my favourite. The two just used all their attributes to their advantage. The whole time, Sulyvahn was aggressive, as always, using long, twisting and confusing combos that Gael couldn’t avoid. And while the Slave Knight was able to land a couple of hits on his aggressor, immediately pushing him to his second phase, the Pontiff lived up to his name and began playing it smart. He dodged Gael’s attacks expertly, keeping his distance, for he knew that Gael could kill him within a split second given the chance. Thus, Pontiff waited and baited the Slave Knight’s attacks while letting Aldrich do the heavy hitting. They attacked in perfect sync, using teamwork and long combos to hurt Gael. What they lacked in vitality and vigor, they made up for with expert teamwork. Using such tactics, Sulyvahn and Aldrich scored an overwhelming win, neither of them ever even getting close to death.
The nameless King was defeated and the Soul of Cinder timed his loss perfectly! Looked like SOC claimed his downfallen allies power similar to Smough and Ornstein in DS1
And also he switched to Gwyn in second phase, like the true Father of nameless king has come and have revenge for his son. I strongly like the final fight It was so Epic🔥
Man, the last one was just poetic: The coordinated thrusts at 8:57 were giving off some real Kratos and Atreus vs Baldur vibes. The SOC turning on Gwyn mode as soon as the Nameless dies, as to say: "You murdered my boy, imma kick your ass back to demon souls". And the absolute disrespect of the final lightning strike to turn Gael's corpse into ashes. Fucking masterpiece Also, Havel would have won if he weren't so commited to his goddamn kick strategy
I like how Pontiff moves around Gael, it's like he knows that he doesn't stand a chance against Gael if he were to tackle him head on, so he uses his speed and agility to his advantage, basically being a distraction so Aldritch can take Gael out Also SoC going into 2nd Phase as Nameless King dies looks like Gwyn coming back through the Soul of Cinder so he can avenge his son
7:54 was actually a pretty clutch moment for Aldrich. Right before Gael does a spin-to-win attack Aldrich is just like NOPE and slips through the ground, avoiding Gael's attack.
Depends, Aldrich did most of the damage, and pontiff also get his clone, SoC is better for versatility, but in gaels 3rd phase he does nothing until he does his own last phase
Gael definitely had way less health in Sulyvahn/Aldrich round than he did in SoC/NK. The amounts he gets hit for in the latter were enormously larger, whereas Pontiff dealing about 600 damage (as much as an average SoC strike that barely chipped Gael’s health bar) takes a healthy chunk out of him.
Honestly if Aldrich got to fight in this area more often he might be able to beat Yhorm and Midir. He'd teleport far away enough to actually use arrows.
Assuming he has someone to tank (or just starts in phase 2) probably true. I think gael or midir have enough health to survive a phase 1 storm comfortably and might have the dps to take him down before he can ember and manage a phase 2 one, though. That said, curse rotted greatwood is probably large enough to keep some of its engorged pustules out of the killzone, assuming the arrows target centre model
The fight between the SOC and NK vs Gael was amazing. The duo really looked like an actual team, makes me think about what would've happened if they met in lore.
@@SonofJagonaught they are the embodiment of all previous lords of cinder, gwyn included, and an exiled god of war. I think they would immediately try to murder each other because they represent polar opposite views on their world..
similar fighting styles, both have toe armor, both have similar chest armor & greaves, both have flowing back skirts with no crotch chainmail the original Lothric royalty and military had some stylish vibes
every time Gael goes into phase 2 it screams 'somebody call a doctor. but not for ME' also at 8:57, what a combo. the movesets of nameless and cinder went so well together
All of these fights were great, every single one, and while the Pontiff's and the God Eater's victory is a close second I just have to say that the battle between the Slave Knight and the Gods was my personal favourite, hooking me from start to end. The battle starts as an absolute slug-fest, one of the closest we've seen, all of their healthbars seeming to go down at the same rate. Nameless and Soul of Cinder seemingly working together in unison to stun Gael as often as they can at times. Then it's time for the second and third phase and the fight gets way more difficult, Nameless plays an aggressive tank of sorts while the Soul pulls out literally everything in his arsenal, from his spear to his miracles to his dex, to his pyromancer to his magic, anything to kill this demon. But a las, nothing is quite getting Gael over the edge, and the Slave Knight ends the lives of both the Cinder, and the King of War. But the fire has one last trick. As the Soul watches the Nameless King die, it awakens something, an old soul, the original soul, the soul of Faraam's father. He stands up straight, replenishes his healthbar, pulls out his true sword, and the two final bosses go at it. And at the end of it all, when the fight the fight close, but Gwyn's Soul wins the day, he uses thunder on the Knight's corpse as if pay respect to his son.
Catch the pause at 12:14 SoC has impaled Gael with his blade after slashing him to position himself behind him, the souls burst from Gael like just perfectly
ok, the way this ended at 8:20 , was just pure cinematic genius ! 11:30 , Nameless king going down and Soul of cinder going in phase 2 at the exact moment ! same for 12:14, the pose gael has and soul of cinder using a lighting stake on the corpse as a final almost like kicking a dead body . this video has got to be the best one for all these little moment perfectly lining up !
Let's be honest here: Ledo and Havel had all the chances, because their strong traits combined completely negate their flaws. Ledo is swift and somewhat unpredictable, and Havel is literally an embodiment of defense and raw strength. If one gets killed - killing the other is just a matter of time for Gael. What an awesome and balanced duo.
There was an absolute anime moment in the 1st fight after Gael's 1st phase when Havel was up front, ready to block Gael's charging attack, and right after he absorbed the blow Ledo came in with the 3 hit combo. Dope.
7:31 was really dope too, pontiff summons while aldritch is using his arrows to then send the summon to give them both time to do an overhead attack at the same time
I feel as though the final fight is more of a cinematic masterpiece and testament to how you don’t need to spell out a story to make the story good. The final fight starts out with a 2v1, with each contender having something to put them in opposition. The Nameless King fights the embodiment of the Dark Soul in a fight he doesn’t even truly have any stake in, alongside the Soul of Cinder - an amalgamation of souls comprised of countless Chosen Undead (including Solaire, who founded a great order dedicated to worshipping The Nameless King), Bearers of the Curse (some of whom probably recognized the futility of linking the fire thanks to what they learned from Aldia, but chose to do so anyway), and Kings and Lords - mightiest of all being Gwyn, his father. And what of Gwyn? He fights alongside the son he exiled and erased from history, who is likely a spitting image of how Gwyn used to look. And Gwyn is cursed to share a body with so many humans, the people he oppressed, whose oppression resulted in accelerating the end of the fire he cherished. And he fights against what should be just another nameless hollow, who should have crumbled before him. But he is empowered by the Dark Soul, by that which lives within all of humanity. And as the fight continues, as the Soul of Cinder struggles, Gwyn comes closer and closer to emerging to the surface, yet he still has to fight his overwhelming fear of the Dark Soul - until his son, the one who he had mistreated so much, falls dead, and in that moment Gwyn is hit with the realization of all his mistakes. He wins the fight, but he’s already so close to death. What is the point? Why return to the Kiln, when the Fire has already died? The last Undead has been slain, alongside any other living being. He is alone. A Hollow Victory.
- 1:39 Havel and Ledo's rotating tradeoffs ending in Ledo rolling back while Havel takes over as lead - 4:20 Ringed igniting his sword at the loss of his Chief - 6:13 Gael roaring as Armour silently delivers a crushing blow - 7:34 Sulyvahn sidestepping Aldrich's ranged attack flawlessly - 7:48 Sulyvahn and Aldrich combining their crushing attacks - 9:00 SoC and NK alternating their thrusting attacks, culminating at their dual jab at 9:11 (these amazing tradeoffs are present all throughout the fight) - 11:32 NK dying directly in front of SoC as SoC gains his second wind - 12:14 The positioning of the models to look like SoC moves around Gael to stab him directly from behind in an unhonorable death Actual art.
[This won't stop playing in my head for some reason] Nameless: "To think we'd enter battle along side eachother once more. . ." Cinder: "..." Nameless: "Very well, remain hushed. I'd rather not waste breath on a fallen god. . ." Cinder: *Every vessel but Gwyn looking confused*
That battle between Gael, NK, and soul of cinder was oddly ironic. The duo stunlocking gael, the duo using magic attacks like SOC's large beam and NK's large dragon thunder bolt and thunder slam with his spear, and NK's demise and SOC's 2nd phase and him ending gael then slamming a thunder bolt into gaels body. It was oddly ironic for SOC to slam a thunderbolt into Gael like how NK did during the fight. It was so good i love it
the best fight is hands down SOC and Nameless king vs Gael. not only does it have really great choreography with perfect synchronized moments. it also has a story, a father and a son divided by their belief, now putting their quarrel aside to beat back the darkness at the end of the world. their reunion is bittersweet, the son still hold a grudge against his father, yet can no longer talks to his father as the father was literally consumed by his ambition to keep the first flame burning, turning himself into a mute amalgamation of souls that can no longer reason. So while both side are fighting for the same cause, both side cannot reconcile with each other. except for this moment at 11:30 as the nameless king fell in battle, he perfectly synced up with the SOC 2nd phase where they return as Gwyn, which open the story up to interpretation. did Gwyn return because he sensed his son's death, or did he return because he was forced to and upon his return, the first thing he saw was his only remaining heir falling in combat against his most sworn enemy, the dark. the tragedy here is Gwyn and Nameless just missed out their proper reunion by mere moments, the son dying just as the father awaken. the optimist in us would like to believe that both of these warriors shared a brief unspoken moment and ultimately reconcile with Gwyn accepting his son again and absorbed his soul into the Soul of Cinder so that they can fight as one. but there's also the possibility that it didn't happen, Gwyn returned after millennia of slumbering only to see everything he loved lay ruined around him. the age of fire ending, his last remaining heir dying to his sworn enemy, his sacrifice means nothing as the dark came all the same.
@@kd_2512 Not to mention fanfiction. Gael isn't even trying to push for an age of dark. This is why fanfics suck. Because they aren't even based on facts.
Dude 8:56-9:05 was amazing, like how SoC swings into spear mode as Nameless swings his spear like they are synced and then proceed to do a cool 1-2 combo with their spear strikes. Then at 10:09 when Nameless charges his slam attack and SoC backflips like he is dodging the slam is awesome. In general they have some nice 1-2 combos, it is like watching Father and Son fight. Just so much cool cinematic shit in the fight, especially at the end with the lighting crashing around near the end like the wrath of Gywn is there after his son died and the lightning spear to "finish" Gael summons more lightning. Honestly the last fight if Aldrich didnt have the arrow move I dont think they wouldve won.
Havel's weakness in DS1 was his low HP amount and now in DS3 when he has almost boss amount of HP, shitty poise system, that isn't working fuckes him. Poor Havel knights, always something messes them.
10:08 that's a very cool moment, as the Nameless King charges his attack the Soul of Cinder do a back flip to free the area so the Nameless King can unleash his thunder on Gaël 🔥⚡
I though the last round would be a massacre, but when I saw SoC's full combo dealing nearly nothing to Gael, I realized I REALLY underestimated his tankyness, Santa almost sacked SoC's entire second health bar while already dying himself, I'm flabbergasted

I got a couple nicknames for these legendary duos: The Havel Knight and Silver Knight Ledo: Knights Of The Old Gods Millwood Chieftain and The Last Ringed Knight: Banes Of The Darkeater Dragonslayer Armor and Champion Gundyr: The Forgotten Champions Aldrich, Devourer Of Gods and Pontiff Sulyvhan: Arbiters Of The Dark Soul Of Cinder and The Nameless King: The Old Gods
Those are all really awesome. Now that makes me wish that Fromsoft had given us duo bosses with special names like that. I mean yeah...there's Friede and Father Ariandel, but that's not what I mean.
It's always interesting to see how badly Gundyr gets beaten up in these fights. Why? Because he is difficult due to his moveset rather than his statline. He just happens to be super specialized against players and NPCs and most of the things that make him tricky don't work too well against large targets. As soon as a fight just boils down to facetanking whatever his opponent throws at him whilst dishing out more damage himself it all falls apart because his main strength is his control, not his healthbar or damage output.
I think my favorite fight has to go to Suly and Aldrich. Their chemistry and teamwork just fits so well and honestly is why they dogged on Gael. Think about it Aldrich has long ranged attacks that hurt like a bitch, and whenever Gael tries to attack him he'll be able to slip away by going underground as we see at 7:54 dodging his spin attack. Then we have Suly with his agility being able to no only move around Gael with ease like in 8:04 but to attack as a decoy for Aldrich to cast long ranged spells. Then if Gael is staggered they can do this badass move 7:47. 10/10 they would be a crazy ass boss fight if Fromsoft ever wanted to add that.
Gotta say, the Chieftain and the Ringed Knight had some pretty good teamwork going there Edit: Gael popping out of reality at 6:28 and reappearing on the butterfly as it dies absolutely killed me lmao
It's amazing the fact that SLAVE KNIGHT can kill the strongest warriors and lords in the series. It kind of shows us the true power of Dark Soul, the most dangerous thing in the universe..after that shitty magic arrows lol
I really enjoy the Havel getting “greedy”, continuing to pursue Gael’s (very small) punish windows when most players would bug out or run out of stamina. Having all that poise and stamina means eating admittedly very deadly hits to keep going is plausible. Also I appreciate not allowing player-like characters to use Estus. GG
SoC and nameless fighting Gael is the most chaotic battle I ever seen in dark souls series. Also I love the dramatic atmosphere when nameless dies Infront of SoC, and SoC is going 2nd phase when that happens
Imagine a game where players become the boss. Players get to create and choreograph their own moves and abilities. The effects and status they can inflict. Pick from hundreds of intros, death animations, phase animations. Or custom make your own. Would be an awesome game!
Mah boys Nameless King and Soul of Cinder clutched it out. That final lightning stake at the end by the Soul of Cinder was a fitting tribute to his fallen comrade.
They make a really awesome team. Both are super aggressive but Dragonslayer Armor is the tank build while Gundyr is the berserker build, dealing as much dps as possible and trying to not give the enemy a chance to breathe.

also at 8:57, what a combo. the movesets of nameless and cinder went so well together
that synchronized jump attack at 7:48 is the most cinematic thing i have ever seen
I'm not gonna lie I had basically the same thought process and was narrating the fight as it was happening, so fucking awesome
Soul of Cinder made dogsh°° damage though.
I could hear Cinders voice in my head
*_" Huuuh? What is weapon-scaling? What is leveling up my weapon? "_*
I thought the absolute same. A father avanging his son, in a truly spectacular way
When you see "The mighty gods" the hype is real
Gwyn respecting his son? Lmao
I love at 9:00 Gael is just caught in stunlock and they both just poke him over and over

They also use strike which Gael is weakest against.
Besides frost
They were so close to victory yet so far.
There was an absolute anime moment in the 1st fight after Gael's 1st phase when Havel was up front, ready to block Gael's charging attack, and right after he absorbed the blow Ledo came in with the 3 hit combo. Dope.
If you could find the timestamp and post it that'd be great. I'd rewatch the video and find it myself but i'm busy doing something else.
@@Knight_Of_Eleum_Loyce I believe they're talking about 1:33.
It was so powerful, they instantly put him into Phase 3! That was super cool!
7:31 was really dope too, pontiff summons while aldritch is using his arrows to then send the summon to give them both time to do an overhead attack at the same time
They deserve a rematch, Havel would've had it if he didn't keep kicking.
Poetic
This fight was so spectacular it looked like there were players controlling the bosses following a script. Also it ties to the lore very nicely
a story, written by actions alone.
Nah
You sir wrote a masterpiece
- 1:39
Havel and Ledo's rotating tradeoffs ending in Ledo rolling back while Havel takes over as lead
- 4:20
Ringed igniting his sword at the loss of his Chief
- 6:13

- 7:34
Sulyvahn sidestepping Aldrich's ranged attack flawlessly
- 7:48
Sulyvahn and Aldrich combining their crushing attacks
- 9:00
SoC and NK alternating their thrusting attacks, culminating at their dual jab at 9:11 (these amazing tradeoffs are present all throughout the fight)
- 11:32
NK dying directly in front of SoC as SoC gains his second wind
- 12:14
The positioning of the models to look like SoC moves around Gael to stab him directly from behind in an unhonorable death
Actual art.
Also SoC and NK charging their attaks synced at 8:56 and 9:26
12:14 I love that the soul of cinder's sword clipped through Gael from behind like he was stabbed in the back, what a perfect end.
There is even a hole in his chestplate where we was stabbed... perfect coincidence
That's exactly what I was going to say
8:57 NK and SOC are relentless with their attacks, goodness me...
Gave him the meeeeaaan wombo combo
[This won't stop playing in my head for some reason]
Nameless: "To think we'd enter battle along side eachother once more. . ."
Cinder: "..."
Nameless: "Very well, remain hushed. I'd rather not waste breath on a fallen god. . ."
Cinder: *Every vessel but Gwyn looking confused*
That battle between Gael, NK, and soul of cinder was oddly ironic.
The duo stunlocking gael, the duo using magic attacks like SOC's large beam and NK's large dragon thunder bolt and thunder slam with his spear, and NK's demise and SOC's 2nd phase and him ending gael then slamming a thunder bolt into gaels body. It was oddly ironic for SOC to slam a thunderbolt into Gael like how NK did during the fight. It was so good i love it
That pontiff and Aldrich into at the beginning looked so damn cool tho ☠️☠️☠️
They really did!
Havel & Knight: Close, very close.
Pointiff & Aldrich: Holy shit.
Cinder & Nameless: Fucking EPIC!
the best fight is hands down SOC and Nameless king vs Gael.
not only does it have really great choreography with perfect synchronized moments. it also has a story, a father and a son divided by their belief, now putting their quarrel aside to beat back the darkness at the end of the world. their reunion is bittersweet, the son still hold a grudge against his father, yet can no longer talks to his father as the father was literally consumed by his ambition to keep the first flame burning, turning himself into a mute amalgamation of souls that can no longer reason. So while both side are fighting for the same cause, both side cannot reconcile with each other.
except for this moment
at 11:30 as the nameless king fell in battle, he perfectly synced up with the SOC 2nd phase where they return as Gwyn, which open the story up to interpretation. did Gwyn return because he sensed his son's death, or did he return because he was forced to and upon his return, the first thing he saw was his only remaining heir falling in combat against his most sworn enemy, the dark. the tragedy here is Gwyn and Nameless just missed out their proper reunion by mere moments, the son dying just as the father awaken.
the optimist in us would like to believe that both of these warriors shared a brief unspoken moment and ultimately reconcile with Gwyn accepting his son again and absorbed his soul into the Soul of Cinder so that they can fight as one. but there's also the possibility that it didn't happen, Gwyn returned after millennia of slumbering only to see everything he loved lay ruined around him. the age of fire ending, his last remaining heir dying to his sworn enemy, his sacrifice means nothing as the dark came all the same.

7:58 From there, Pontiff plays so beautifully ! Avoiding each attacks while counter attacking Gael
7:47 the way they both did jumping slam attacks at the same time was badass
Did Gael send Havel flying??! Holy Mother! He must have superpowers!
Poise doesn’t do any thing in dark souls 3 though
Gael just had too much health. At one point SoC and NK deal over 11000 HP damage and Gaels bar just slightly moved.
Gael has very, I mean VERY strong fire resistance. so soul of cinder's attacks were tickling him
Gael could actually killed both but soul of cinder became a coward and healed on a 2v1
@@slaveknightgael7017 gael would have died way earlier if gael didn't have 99% resistance against non player lightning. Nameless king's damage was shut down by that plot armor.

the fight between Gael and Sulyvahn and Aldrich looked like an execution, i love it

"Arbiters Of The Dark" is the best
Those names are some bangers
