    Ryan Clark completely outclassed Skip Bayless. His flow of reasoning really pulled Skip's thought process out for everyone to see. Represented himself well. It's always funny to see sports talk show contributors get upset over criticism of themselves while their job is to be a critic. The problem came from Skip's defense of himself from Durant, grow up a little Skip.

    Is Rob & Skip slow! What Ryan said around 10 minutes is so simple. The player turned reporter/analyst has the advantage. You will never ever play or achieve what they have done on the field. However that same athlete has the opportunity to achieve in their field. Duuuuuuuuuuuuuh. I think you don't have to be so smart to do what they do. Especially after hearing dumb questions like "How does this lost feel?" What were you thinking when you took that last shot?"

    Due to social media, the players now have a voice to retort back towards the media. In the past, the media controlled the voice of the athlete because they were the only source. The "reporters" are no longer in control, and whether they are right or wrong about it, they don't like it that the athlete has a platform to criticize them back. A reporter does need to focus on the facts and not make comments about the athlete personally if they don't want to get and brushback.

    Always feel bad for Clark when I watch this. Whole discussion is planed by First Take: Rob Parker leads discussion, tries to take discussion in different direction ("media people don't need to have played game to know game"), which isn't Clarks point.
    Look at the last question by the woman:" Has the air been cleared?" Watch how fast Rob Parker says "yes". He is happy they talked for 15 minutes without actually discussing the valid point Clark makes: Media should focus on game and facts and less on "I think" "I asssume" and opinions in general.

    Point blank. if you're an athlete be prepared to be criticized. Since it is PROFESSIONAL SPORTS it also falls under the category of entertainment and EVERY entertainer gets criticized. if you don't wanna be called "Soft" prove it on the field/court.The way to stop people from talking about you is to prove them wrong. if you constantly do the same shit be prepared to be categorized. The clutch gene talk wouldnt be there if Bron wasnt always doin the same fuck up shit.

These reporters often launch personal attacks from their bully pulpits, but seem to get their feelings hurt when players react and attack with the one truth at their disposal. Skip's saying that Ryan had Trash talked him, meant that only garbage was coming out of the mouth of Ryan, was very demeaning.

    They are jealous of the athletes. Athletes and analysts take two different paths to become an analysts on TV these analysts could never be a pro athletes and they look at them as a threat to take their job. News flash former athletes are the most qualified. In their eyes they don't like that players took the easy way to becoming a TV analysts but in reality they been in one sport all their lives to have the right to talk about the sport they played in and that's what columnist and analysts don't like or don't get

  • @cmjones223
    @cmjones223 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Athletes need to realize that this is a debate show where ppl come to share their opinions about various topics. This is not a report show, thats sportcenter. This is not a analysis show, that nfl countdown. You can't get mad someone's opinion of you and your performance. If you don't like it play better use it as motivation to prove them wrong.

    Jalen Rose made a good point but did not handle the situation properly. Reporters/analysts that make certain remarks on players do may be hurtful but thats due to their performance on the court which legitimizes the reporters/analysts claim. Regarding player's psyche, analysts do not stir up random assumptions, they make claims based off of their sources. The issue with Rose's sttack on Bayless was that he had no sources and insight on the situation whereas reporters/analysts do.

    Are athletes too sensitive? Yes. Does Ryan Clark make some good points? Yes. I can appreciate the fact that it's frustrating for athletes that columnist who had some amount of anonymity are now TV personalities who have to garner ratings and that they might cross the line of legitimate critique and criticism and go into the personnel realm. Yes. Finally athletes you make millions and millions of dollars and to rely on the spectatorship of fans and media in a large part to make those millions of dollars so if the criticism isn't so egregious then I would just let it go.
