It also requires a very high basketball i.q, especially from those who aren’t incredibly physically gifted like JJ Redick and Pat Bev. Stephen A. is a journalist who is paid to go in on professional athletes in ways that are totally inappropriate in this era asking why players don't have the reverence that they once had for the generational talents. Lebron sometimes gets disrespected because journalists who would be eaten alive by those players in real life go on TV and attack the players 24/7. You do realize there was a reason that teams like the Pistons beat up Jordan and made rules especially designed to target a player like him (the Jordan Rules)... Right? Because he was dominate and they knew exactly what they needed to do to stop him. There are elements of fear/anxiety in that mindset when teams have to tailor make gameplans and basically go WWE on a player on the court. In retrospect, the way teams beat Lebron in today's game is basically daring him to shoot and not letting him get near the rim. Basic stuff. Go look at what players who played against Jordan have to say about him after they trash talked them and MJ sent them packing. I'm sorry, but people will not talk about Lebron the same way they do about Jordan. He'll be remembered as a great team facilitator who had a really long career and accumulated a lot of stats - he won't be remembered as being as good a winner as MJ.

MJ definitely had a different aura to him than Lebron did - especially going into the 90's. He was absolutely dominate and took over games and where that aura might not have existed when he played teams like the Pistons in the 80's, there was a reason they developed things like the "Jordan Rules" and why guys like Bird called him a virtual God in the NBA world. Go look at what players who played against Jordna have to say about him after they trash talked them and MJ sent them packing. Lebron RARELY gets that man. Which was like I said, to be back in time since the company was flying him private, to be on the set of First Take. Skip was showing up 5-6 in the morning coming up with all the talking points of the show and getting no help from Stephen A. and then they still give him a large contract? It’s actually sad because Stephen A will fully admit he wouldn’t have even got his chance if it wasn’t for Skip getting him his big shot on air. The 7:14 mark JJ made a good point Lebron came into da league at a whole different time MJ didn’t have to hear basketball media nor sports news talk on his game after a big lost where Lebron had to deal with that since his first nba game nd for the most part by the looks of his career accomplishments he exceeded those expectations many times so when you put it in that perspective ye Lebron deserves his respect 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@jasonoyola590 Yeah we're from that era so we also know those things came and went vs if something happens 5 minutes from now, it would flood the entire internet. So many things from that era most people can't remember and it could be things that were crazy like Charles Barkley spitting on a little girl, now imagine if KD, LeBron or someone from this era would've did the same thing😂What about Karl Malones past, look how it's somewhat under the radar, now if that was a player today, that's all they'd literally be associated with. Let's not pretend like social media and the current landscape of media isn't completely different today. It's better for players in terms of building a brand but worse in terms of easily hurting your brand. You have to take the good with the bad I guess.

JJ is cerebral. He stays quiet even though he knows he about to say to something that contradicts the other persons “facts” and prove them wrong.
He lets them talk and get confident where they dig themselves deeper into a hole instead of interrupting or trying to shout over them so they either have to stick with the argument or backtrack on everything they just said (either way it would make you look dumb), you can’t even tell whether he agrees or disagrees with what they are saying until he starts talking and calmly dismantling the argument.
