Agreed. I rather watch the non flashy ACTUAL car enthusiasts build, teach and just do things on cars. I don't dig the whole LZ, Hunt and others dudes like them. Call it hate or anything, Speed Academy is what I like to watch.
Solid intro! Short, sweet, and to the point. very well done. Edit: Really sucks about the engine. Hopefully itll go together good! Also loved the comedy sketch in the middle.
Thank you for keeping on doing your thing, you guys create some of the best quality engine building content on TH-cam, don't be diminished by the the few who complain for the silent majority of us will keep watching and appreciating your quality work 😁
The whole reason I got into watching this channel, because of the porsche engine and rotary engine build. always interesting to see something not the norm being built
Alright guys, I'm 1:30 in and so far, excellent work creating the engine stand montage. Much more visually appealing than a static shot. I enjoy watching Pete when he's on camera but, the combo of Dave doing work and Pete getting more creative with his filming looks like a good combo. Nice work guys. So glad to see the rotary build going! .....nice Mustache Peter. Suits you well.
Idk if this was edited after the failing video but everything felt much more concise and tightly edited, much easier to keep attention spans lol great video
I saw the last vid. I will admit I don't watch EVERY series you guys do but then again I flow in and out of almost every channel I sub to. But I've been looking forward to this series! Glad you're back!
I know you guys probably won't read this, but I really appreciate what you do, as I'm sure many others do aswell. I only discovered the channel when you started the evo build, but you'll have my support on whatever route you take. Keep up the good effort guys!!
This video makes my heart happy. I found out about Speed Academy because of a rotary video...and years later you're making my day better with another one. I'm so glad I stumbled upon you fine gents back then, it's been excellent ever since.
Thank you for coming back.. We all appreciate you guys.. Don't worry what era you live there will always a car guy it never die.. Your video if not now will be appreciated if the future.. The knowledge you guys give us is gold.. Thats is why people will appreciated it.. Thank you speed academy..
Vacuum nest!!! I was a rotary mechanic at Mazda for 4 yrs.. I loved them then hated them.. I used to replace the vacuum lines with aircraft line to reduce cracking 100% and help with longevity...
in my high school auto shop we had a rotary engine on a table like that. some idiot bumped the table on accident and one of the irons hit the floor and damaged it. love the new build excited to see this
Taking time off after engine blew up ... Next up rotary engine rebuild. Love the ambition guys!! Way to double down. I really love you content. Wish you guys the best success.
Great video. Love the rotary... The simplicity, the sound, the size... Looking forward to your next videos. To everyone who is reading this, click on the ads that come on during the program... Support great content and sponsors.
Working from home again , watching this made my project deadline date change.. 13B renisis rx8 project (UK) Interested to see your take on 13B. Thanks for putting the effort and quality into this guys.🤪😎
So psyched for this build. Had 2 fc rx7s and always wanted to rebuild one but never had the guts to take it apart. And the fd is one of my dream cars i will be watching all of this build for sure.
Great stuff guys. Didn’t get a chance to write some comments in last vid regarding feedback but either way I back your channel so much and the content you put out.
This brings me back, it was your old 13b rebuild video that got to subscribe in the first place. I thought I would have to rebuild my motor but she still going strong lmao
You know what I think you guys need to make a dent on youtube. A halo car. something that transcends just being a fast car and becomes a character. DDE has the tireslayer, Cleetus has Leeroy, TJ hunt has Miley the BRZ, Rob Dahm has the AWD 4 Rotor. I dunno I'm just a random guy from the internet. lol Awesome 13B video. rotary needs more love in the internet
Yea but those guys spent years and tons of money building those cars. TH-cam is fickle and you can't expect to increase your status without making some heavy sacrifices. A friend of mine spent 5 years streaming on twitch - being flat broke and selling everything he owns to chase the Twitch dream.... now on his 6th year he's finally able to pay his bills without selling anything of value or asking people to help him out and has a project car that he's been saving up to build. He had to couch surf for a few years before he got to where he is. Even with high production value - its not a guarantee you'll see a gain. You can't have the mindset of chasing that youtube money because thats where you'll fail. You have to do it out of passion. The money comes later.... way later.
been waiting for this one! also, i find it funny you glossed right over the fact that the flywheel nut is usually a massive pain, being torqued on to 300ft/lb. excited for the next episode
They are not back yet. They said in the last video that they will still be releasing videos on a rotary build while they take a step back to re-evaluate.
Thanks for the engine tare down video. The vavoline thing got me! It’s interesting seeing the ware in the inside of the motor and what lead it to failure.
Love that rotary content. The rotary content is what originally lead me to subscribe to this channel. It is obvious that the last build on that motor was done very poorly. These poor builds is what makes rotary engines not reliable. Many engines are done like this and then the motor gets a bad reputation. The builder of the rotary engine is one of the keys to a reliable rotary engine. Well hell I guess this can be said about all engines. I am sure that speed academy will do it right and it will be reliable. Brap on
Nice video! Rotary are awesome. Best channel on the youtubess interweb My theory, rotary engines complete “4 stroke/cycle” in one rotar rotation so 1.3L is really 2.6L. Also the engine has 1:3 multiplier gear inside so 10,000rpm output is 3,333rpm at rotar. 450hp/300tq 1.3L 10,000rpm is really a 150hp/900tq 2.6l 3,333rpm with 1:3 transmission gear. That’s why airflow, fuel consumption and heat are so different. :)

Glad to see you guys back at it. There are a lot of us who really appreciate what you do.
They said they had videos queued up for release - it was just going to be slower than usual.
Agreed. I rather watch the non flashy ACTUAL car enthusiasts build, teach and just do things on cars. I don't dig the whole LZ, Hunt and others dudes like them. Call it hate or anything, Speed Academy is what I like to watch.
Personally I love build series it motivates me on my builds. Thanks guys!
Definitely, I like the content that is a little more technical and less mindless entertainment.
@@13BryceNichols im the same way man. Speed Academy is one of my favorite channels. I tried to watch TJ, but ehh..not my thing either
Engine disassembly in a white t-shirt, brave.
Still white at the end, legend!
Seriously. I’m scared to eat.. anything.. in a white tee.
Big LOL.
Nah he changed shirts lol
Babe is that you?
Other dude did most of the work...that's why lmfao
Best channel on youtube for us track junkies and shade-tree mechanics.
its called under tree mechanic here
Solid intro! Short, sweet, and to the point. very well done.
Edit: Really sucks about the engine. Hopefully itll go together good! Also loved the comedy sketch in the middle.
Ha! Fancy seeing you here lol. Love the optics reviews!

Glad to see you're back! And 10,000rpm fd will sound amazing.
Rob Dahm is smiling in his garage watching this :). Ps keep the channel going your the best relatable channel on youtube, love you guys!
The man D.P. doesn't often work on cars but when he does, he wears a white tshirt and doesnt even get a spot on it. What a legend
Guys, they said they had videos queued for their month off. They're not "back". FFS.

Glad to see another video. Especially a video with a rotary!
First "real" commercial in TH-cam history! lol and it was awesome.
Guys this is one of my favorite channels. Actually informative and not your typical "influencer" type channels. Absolutely love it
Thank you. My son just purchased his first 13b, in pieces, for his 1986 RX7. Now I can learn from you!

Abosultly loved the valvoline cut scene! What a fun/smart way to advertise your sponsor
Vacuum nest!!! I was a rotary mechanic at Mazda for 4 yrs.. I loved them then hated them.. I used to replace the vacuum lines with aircraft line to reduce cracking 100% and help with longevity...
How are aircraft lines different? What are they made of? Cost? 🧐🤔
@@I_know_what_im_talking_about ... Teflon tube rapped in S.S. braid .... work's well on brake lines too.
Dig the background chune, that a PremiumBeat track? Cool teardown, finally understand the basic anatomy of a rotary engine with more than one rotor.
Can’t believe I’m going to say this but I loved the advert in the middle - usually I’m deathly against them but it was fun. Great video as always!
Brilliant to see you stick at it, love the spin on the advert on Valvoline, hate ads but this made it fun!
in my high school auto shop we had a rotary engine on a table like that. some idiot bumped the table on accident and one of the irons hit the floor and damaged it. love the new build excited to see this
The most informative channel out here I love this content and really appreciate how much detail is put into the videos
Thanks for coming back guys. Speed academy for life!
Nice!! I LOVE the new intro! I was so happy to see a video from you guys in my subscription feed
Excited for episode 2! Even watching your rx8 videos, these engines are witchcraft to me.
My 9 year old freaking loved that Valvoline ad break.
Hey guys you nailed it with this, can’t wait to see what you do with this build. Don’t let TH-cam’s algorithm get ya down, you guys rule.

Well I'm back to watching guys! This is wild how the rotor motor are! I'm mind blown with the turbo system and intake manifold.
Dude why am I finding this channel only now? This is so good! Looking forward to the rest of this build 🙂
Nice one guys 👍🏻
Good music, interesting topic, beautiful production. Well done!
What is the music? Its mint
Definitely glad you guys are still here
Joe really does know his rotary, very good observation about the engine problems.
Good to see you guys back, pretty much my favourite channel. I was not expecting the "original" content 😂
As a rotary novice, I am enjoying the knowledge sharing!

Looking forward to the next Valvoline ad spot. Good stuff.
best auto yt channel period .
really liked the filming and editing quality in this video. Not to mention the content itself being interesting as always
Love it! True car guys know whats up! Keep up the good work.
Yes there we go. Awesome video, this is the kind of stuff we all wanna watch tbh.
friendly reminder that RHD import rx7 the exhaust side is right behind the drivers seat. Prepare for massive heat soak into the drivers side cabin!

This brings back a lot of memories from my rotary building days.. looking forward to this build. 👍🏻
This is some quality content. Great topic (Who doesn't love FDs?) and the production value is superb.
Great episode guys - cinematography and music was truly on point. Loving the rotary content

Miss watching ur shows. Glad u back.😊
holy smokes, that valvoline segment was awesome!
While I'd never own one, I think rotaries are probably the most fascinating engines to see people work with.
Awesome commercial. LOL. You guys in costumes is something I didn’t think I’d see. Pretty nice pace to the break down. 🤙🏾
this is the content i want to see more of
Great! Back on the spanners!
Beautiful explanation of the intake system and it's complexities.

Pretty geeked about this build. I’m fascinated by the rotary style engine.
Great to see a rotary rebuild. Don't rush the details with too many fast forwards.
