@enemy boat alot of money? Car was 600 quid and repair is going to be what 1-2k so you get brand new engined rx8 for 2600 quid. How is that lot of money?
If you want a rotary, get anything before the Renesis series of cars. Get a FD or FC RX-7 if you want. Those rotary lasts longer. They still need care but at least it doesn't break your heart and wallet more than the RX-8 does.
Jun Kitami - Don’t do an FD, nor any turbo FC either as an entry to rotaries. The Renesis may not last long at all, but turbo rotaries are not far off. 130K miles is around their limit before they need a rebuild, no matter how well you care for it - at least in my experience. Go for an SA, FB or a naturally aspirated FC. They may be slower, but they’re alot less prone to mechanical cantankerousness and are a good introduction to rotaries.
My son has an RX-8, this explains a lot of what I didn't know about the rotary engine. Can't wait to see the end result with the rebuilt engine. Thanks guys..
I've never been a big fan of rotary engines, but it's definitely interesting learning about them. Would love for you to do some old VW Golfs at some point, maybe a mk3 VR6 or a mk2 16v?
They know their stuff! Really excited about this build . These engines pack a punch for their size! Ive only driven a rx8 once and it was difficult to start and was slower than my nissan versa 😂
I am really starting to like this new series. The old ones with Phil, Miles and Colin were good but this one with Felix is really entertaining to watch especially that it has a rotary and it is a Car that I actually considered buying used. After some research and test drives, I ended up with a GT86, which is similar on paper but a whole different experience. Still going strong after 5 years of owning it and still enjoying like on the first day. Yes!
One of my RX8s had a weird problem. It was brand new. And after about 30 minutes or more on the highway, the differential would lock up, and when I'd get off the highway and take corners, it would bind up a lot for a while. Eventually it would go away. The dealership was never able to see the problem because they never test drove it long enough to have it happen. A quick 10 minute drive won't do it. But in the end, it was a lease so I stopped worrying about it. Don't remember if it was a 2004 or 2007.
I don't understand how native english speakers complain they don't understand.. English is my 3rd language and I understood every word right away. You just have to have common sense.
Not when they are speaking at 200 words a minute. if they talked just a smidge slower it wouldn.t be a problem, or subtitles. You have to learn to tae a breath once in a while.
I'm doing just fine with mine at 141k miles on original engine. Pre-mix and 10W-30 or higher oil as well as getting those 9k RPM revs while driving works wonders for the engine life of rotaries.
Looking forward to seeing the car back on the road and the rebuild, sadly had to sell my RX8 because of health problems, really miss it, yeah they get a bad rep but with some slight mods and looking after it, it's a great car and really fun to drive.

Thank you so much for making this series, I've always loved rotaries and seeing this makes me extremely happy. 'Can't wait to see the rebuild !
Nice to find guys that still care and out effort into their work
Update on Phill?
Sir_O _Scarlet being painted 😂

Music used when ripping out the engine: Dylan Sitts - Virtual Underworld
Music used when dismantlin the engine and diagnosing: Mhern - By the Harbor
Thanks!
So I got a 1 out of 2.3 mil chance to win that "Ra'a"? Fml
Wow! That rotor will look very good to use as a clock!! Super cool for sure.
The chance of winning is 1 in 2 314 177.
Me: "So you are telling me there is a chance."
We'll I live in Algeria so my chances are even less than yours
@@samiklaa3445 geography has no bearing on winning! :)
Just buy a scrap one off eBay.
better than the odds of winning 120mil on the lottery
My son has an RX-8, this explains a lot of what I didn't know about the rotary engine. Can't wait to see the end result with the rebuilt engine. Thanks guys..
That looks like an awesome repair shop
0:20 looks like GTA 5 garage
I've never been a big fan of rotary engines, but it's definitely interesting learning about them. Would love for you to do some old VW Golfs at some point, maybe a mk3 VR6 or a mk2 16v?
well......datt shop omgggggg. Looks like my dream garage.i also like their explanation. i was really impressed
Excellent video. Great to see these young lads with so much knowledge. Brilliant
They know their stuff! Really excited about this build . These engines pack a punch for their size! Ive only driven a rx8 once and it was difficult to start and was slower than my nissan versa 😂
Some good info, someone who actually knows what they're talking about.
indeed
I really have to pay attention to understand what those guys are saying
more if u dont understand britts how do they talk
I am german, and for me its really hard to understand ;)
Jelian Ivanov are you English?
I’m Dutch and confused
I can follow but need to pay a bit more attention then usual.
Im super passionate on cars but don’t know much on rotaries, so thanks for all this info on what to look out for! Keep it up Car Throttle!
i ended up cruising with a RX-8 yesterday on my way home. its a beautiful car, it a shame there aren't more around.
Great video on rotary engines you guys really know your facts!
Those guys really know their stuff. Should turn out nice
Yes!
"Just the tip so doesn't count then" 😂😂
Wow I‘d love to have that red housing with the black ra‘a. Looks awesome and I love the Mazda RX‘s 😍
Last time I was this early my rotary still had apex seals.
So yesterday.
This should be a tv show
This is better than new top gear
@Carcide 027 True. New Top Gear is totally shit.
Daniel Rawlinson yeah the old top gear was much better
@@samuvonbach5404 New Top Gear = Terminator 3/4/5
I don't understand how native english speakers complain they don't understand.. English is my 3rd language and I understood every word right away. You just have to have common sense.
True tho
Its your 3rd language that makes it much easier for you to understand because you know other languages that have different pronounceations and sounds.
Second and ditto.
Youre an idiot, just stfu.
Not when they are speaking at 200 words a minute. if they talked just a smidge slower it wouldn.t be a problem, or subtitles. You have to learn to tae a breath once in a while.
one does not live with a rotary but instead struggles with a rotary
I'm doing just fine with mine at 141k miles on original engine. Pre-mix and 10W-30 or higher oil as well as getting those 9k RPM revs while driving works wonders for the engine life of rotaries.
Looking forward to seeing the car back on the road and the rebuild, sadly had to sell my RX8 because of health problems, really miss it, yeah they get a bad rep but with some slight mods and looking after it, it's a great car and really fun to drive.
