Problem is that the "trash" food might actually be unfit for human consumption and if a company were to serve people bad food, whether intentionally or unintentionally, then there is a case for a lawsuit and a visit from the health inspector. Plus it is bad buisness if people get the goods/services they offer for free: why pay money when you can wait by the trashcan for free food? (That last one is probably their main concern tbh). Yes, I wondered why the bosses were so stupid to not realize that Jay counted the tray, so the theft could have been done by either of them, not just OP. Willful blindness.
It’s really sad, these corporate shells don’t see reason, they can never be satisfied with making SOME money, money that always nets a good profit typically even after employee payment, but no, they have to make all the money, every tiny penny they can get. Game companies are also notorious for this. Even when their brand ALONE would net them an INSTANT big profit, they aren’t satisfied, these sub-humanly greedy monsters keep grabbing for every penny and lining their inflated pockets while under paying their workers.
The way these dangerous policies happen is Upper Management/Executives say to their direct subordinates "Save X amount of money". Those subordinates say to their subordinates say "Save more than X amount of money" (To look good to their bosses). The lower subordinates say to the lowest level of management "Save far more than X amount of money by any means necessary" (to look good to their bosses). Then frontline workforce are made to cut corners, ignore safety laws and break the law to make it work.
I once read a comment about how safety regulations are written in blood. Some of them may seem obvious, but they had to be written down because some business decided to cut corners and someone was hurt or killed because of it.
Not where I'm from; electrical work can ONLY be done by a licensed electrician, and MUST be done via permit, with the ONLY exception of very basic work (ie. replacing a light switch, replacing a wall plug, etc). Anything that fundamentally changes the wiring in any way REQUIRES a permit. The other only exception is if you're a homeowner; you CAN get a permit and do the work yourself. But that's it; you can't get your employees to do it for you. Of course, this doesn't always happen, but you can most definitely report it in my country if it's not done.
@@TheEDFLegacy I put “legal” in quotations for a reason, to emphasize my intentions that I am being sarcastic. At my job you need a licensed electrician as well, to do anything beyond a simple light change, and I would assume is the same across in my country. TL;DR - A team leader tried to frame me for her own theft so I spent the next 3 months in a solo sting operation to catch her stealing in a way I could take to management and prove it was her.” Don’t know why he refused to read something like this even, but it seems pretty disrespectful to the OP of the post. Especially if you’re reading their story for your channel, the least you can do is read out the entire thing, rSlash.
@THE HOUSTONADER The fact that you're taking our criticisms as if we're literally holding a knife to rSlash and threatening him really says something about you. I don't care if it's just candy or chips, waste is waste and there are many people who would literally beg for that food. 'F' these greedy companies for throwing away food and wasting rapidly declining resources just for their bottom dollar.
The problem isn't that they wouldn'T like to, but the responsibility added to them. If the person eating those over date products gets ill, they can sue the company for neglect~ And in front of the law over-the-date food is equal to poisoned food. And gifting away over-the-date food is considered the same as gifting away poisoned food. Most companies would love to gift them away, some even do in small circles... But the fact the the companies can be sued for people eating the stuff they voluntarily gifted is the main reason that most companies want these products destroyed. As soon that a law comes out that makes the consumer responsible and not the company anymore, the amount of wasted food would plummet to unknown lows!
The problem isnt just about that. Its about having employees purposefully writing off food/products to take that are perfectly fine to sell. Its about actual theft prevention. The secondary is as was said, to protect the store from being sued (though generally a stupid reason).
@@mitchverr9330 Things seem a bit nuts in the US. Here if you tried to sue for getting ill eating expired food, regardless of who owned it, would get you nowhere, unless that food was knowingly served to you. If you took it and ate it knowing it was expired, that's on you. Not sure about the best way to prevent the theft like that. Not an issue I've ever heard of anyone having to deal with here.
When a manager/supervisor orders you to do some task that will disable you, it is immoral not to meet them after work and shoot a round through their pelvis. They will die in agony hours later, and nothing anyone can do to save them. Use a revolver- no spent casings. If you are in a location where you can't destroy their pelvis, a few strikes on the larynx will suffocate them. Much more comfortable than pelvis strikes, but equally certain.
In that 1st story if the Area Manager told me that if I didn't sign off for the training that I would be fired I would've told the manager "You won't fire me because I know where you live and if you fire me because I refuse to do a job that I am not trained or certified for I will be paying you a visit at your house and you will come up missing."
Good on OP for quitting in the first story. I would’ve quit too. Forcing people to do dangerous tasks and threatening them with termination if they don’t? I feel like that’s how you get sued if someone gets hurt.
There’s nothing wrong with dumpster diving. Throwing away perfectly good food instead of donating it should be criminal. She was an ass for trying to frame that guy but I’d bet there’s more to the story. He’s a class traitor.
The first year, at my first job, I went to the holiday party. It was a big, fancy dress-up affair. They even did annual awards. At the end of the speeches, the owner came up, and gave this speech about integrity, and gave one guy a high-ticket gift. I had no idea what it was about, but later, someone at my table told me he had caught and turned in a long-time thief, and saved the store a bundle.
The last story really highlights the problem that sexual harassment by women isn't taken nearly as seriously as it is by men. Women like the one in OP's story get way too much leeway. Had it been OP as a straight man doing the same things to a lesbian woman, he'd lost his job the moment she complained to HR.
My grandpa was an eletrician. He build our house with his bare hands and my grandma worked hard to help when money starts to go low, and he paid people who KNEW what they were doing. Years and years to learn how to do everything rigth, and don't let his wife, children and grandchildren in risc once he past. Also, he worked as a janitor/eletrician in a condo since I was born (15 years). Grandpa Mata died last year, I really miss him. He would tell this managers to frick off
Back in the day, I worked in a store with the trash-is-trash policy. Electronix, outdated, not even listed in inventory anymore (clock-radios, RC toys, etc.). "Can I have it, vs throwing it out?" "Only if you're okay with getting fired if anyone catches you." (said in a good way, to keep me/others out of trouble) The solution was easy. Bag up the goodies *very* well, several layers. Toss it out. Put it in the trash in an easily retrievable way. Wait 'til after work, "dumpster dive" (even if it's just picking up the "dirty" bag placed behind the dumpster) and pick it up, shed the outer layer. Take home the clean bag o' goodies inside.
Last story: was fully expecting hr to continue ignoring the harassment claims, then when jessica gets bored, makes a sexual harassment claim against him, and they take it super serious and threaten to fire him. Glad to see the people in this story weren't totally braindead.
Honestly that last story is a prime example that, while by no means does it nullify the historic sexism women face in history, the workplace included, it also shows that there’s a toxic double standard when men are harassed. If the genders were flipped, it’s possible that due to social norms, the situation would have been dealt with faster, assuming the workplace wasn’t inherently toxic for women individually.
The story about the "stolen vouchers": Why didn't they take a permanent marker and scribble something on them once they were used? That would prevent Jay or anyone else from re-using them and there shouldn't be a problem with that since they simply rip them up anyway.
Jessica story - if the genders were swapped she'd be fired and probably worse right away... it sucks that women harassing men is usually just laughed off by bosses.
I hate it when companies, like the one I work for, cut corners and don’t hire suitable qualified people to do minor tasks. Also I was involved where somebody was coming onto me and nobody wanted to help that sucked

I kept getting pulled into the office at the wholesalers that I worked at about 9 years ago, alot of money kept going missing out of the till and I almost lost my job over it, they never believed me when I told them it wasn't me so I left the company. I'm still waiting for my apology too.
whenever a company introduces a "money saved means manager bonus" scheme, just resign. Or at least update your resume and prepare to resign, because it means the company is incentivizing itself to make everything worse. From worker pay to product quality, it's all going downhill fast to make a quick buck for management.

Not really? Average is between 4 to 6. It's a bell curve, as most people aren't 1s nor 10s. So if we took all 7 something billion people, rated them 1 to 10, you'd find that MOST people would be average, but there's not really a strong difference between a 4, 5, and 6. In the last story, from how OP worded it, I don't think anyone at his work knew he was gay. From what he said, he told her he was in a relationship, not that he was gay, so she may not have known that. Doesn't make it right, but something I feel needed clarification.
It's not a preference, it's an orientation. Preference was used by church nuts and impotent politicians to make our sexuality a choice and something that could be fixed.
I almost feel bad for Jessica (last story) because once I heard she was getting a divorce, I was like "Yeah, she's probably an older woman who's trying very, very, very hard to desperately get back in the game." But, hitting on/harassing a gay man is like 24 levels too far past "Just desperate".

But I heard through the grapevine that she was under investigation about it and got fired a few weeks later . Let's just say the company had a mascot of a BIG RED DOG
rSlash, in the last story, OP didn't tell Jessica he was gay. OP only stated that he was in a relationship, which on it's own should've told Jessica to back off and stop.

Minor correction on the last story's comments... OP didn't mention in the story that he told her he was gay, just that he was in a relationship. Not that that makes it any better
First mistake when you're responsible for money. NEVER let it out of your sight for a moment unless it's absolutely secured in a register or safe. Period. End of Story. I've handled cash for business enterprises for years....never short even once.
So here that's illegal. You must be licensed and insured to do a trade job. Employment Awards also spell out what your job is and if you are asking an employee to do something if they aren't employed in that position. For example you can't ask an office worker who's job is typing or answering the phone to mow the lawn or replace the power outlet that is broken. Australia has very good employment laws thankfully.
I hate that Sexual harassment isn’t a thing when they’re good looking, rich or female. Harassment is harassment and worse if she did something worse and then accused poor OP of “passionately hugging her without her permission” nobody will believe you and your life will be ruined
Telling someone you're in a relationship isn't the same as telling them you're gay. Homophobia exists and disclosing that you have a same sex could make you a target.
@rSlash I don't see Jessica being told that OP was gay anywhere. OP said he was in a relationship, not with a person of which gender. Whether it was common knowledge that he is gay and he just doesn't mention here is another matter, but it's not written. I 100% agree with the rest. I hate your "alimony" system anyway. It doesn't exist here. The whole alimony deal kinda implies that the person receiving alimony isn't capable of getting a job. Alimony isn't a thing here, but child support is of course.

Plus it is bad buisness if people get the goods/services they offer for free: why pay money when you can wait by the trashcan for free food? (That last one is probably their main concern tbh). Yeah the system is broken, but you should understand why it is there in case you break it worse.
@@aaronmccullers384 that’s complete garbage. it’s not inedible or past it’s due date, it’s written off as unsellable. it’s trashing because nobody bought it.
FYI far too many restaurants and supermarkets trash things that are edible and usable for people simply because they’re too cheap or lazy to go through the proper donation process.
@@bostonrailfan2427 a) You didn't really read the second half of my comment, did you? If you did you would know that I admitted that the main reason for these people throwing out food is likely because they don't want to occur any potential revenue loss caused by giving away food. While I pointed out that they might feel like they would lose customers I thought I didn't have to point out the fact that many companies hate paying for proper waste management. Saying my opinion is "complete garbage" while supporting it means that your opinion is just fancy garbage. b) I like playing devil's advocate because it helps prevent myself and others from jumping too hastily into making any opinion that might be wrong and/or harmful, which is what you did. c) You aren't even gonna bother reading this, are you? d) Trust me, plenty of restaraunts/companies want to sell expired/unusable food if they could, but local, state and probably federal laws prevent them from doing so to protect consumers from being fed food that is practically poison but tastes good. Any product that is thrown out is wasted potential income, so why throw it out if they can sell it? Do you even understand what the meaning of "cheap" is?
Never blindly trust anyone to count your till. One slip and $50 disappears and it's your fault!
Yep, cash handling 101. Don't trust anyone.
Yes, I wondered why the bosses were so stupid to not realize that Jay counted the tray, so the theft could have been done by either of them, not just OP. Willful blindness.
Even though Jay was a known thief too
At my job you need both cashier and manager to count the till and then sign off.
Imagine risking the lives of numerous employees just because you wanted to make a few extra dollars. Not worth it.
Greed is deadly
It’s really sad, these corporate shells don’t see reason, they can never be satisfied with making SOME money, money that always nets a good profit typically even after employee payment, but no, they have to make all the money, every tiny penny they can get.
Game companies are also notorious for this. Even when their brand ALONE would net them an INSTANT big profit, they aren’t satisfied, these sub-humanly greedy monsters keep grabbing for every penny and lining their inflated pockets while under paying their workers.
Hmm ook I'm lost
11likes not bad Flight01
Definitely “legal” to have people that don’t have the legal qualifications and skill set to do a task, that involves risks and safety at a workplace.
Hmm ooook
Also that’s why I put it at workplace as well, because it’s more prone to legal action and breaking laws like, in the story for cutting corners.

Six months later...
Six months later what, rSlash? How dare you cut off the last bit of aftermath from a story?
I just started the video but can already tell I'm gonna be mad 😅
All those people still yelling at me in the comments of another video because I politely criticize the fact that he didn't do a super important update on a story:
What now?
I was also disappointed
Here’s the missing part rSlash cut off or refused to read for god knows what reason:
“Six months later I was offered training to become a Team Leader myself, I took it but ended up quitting for a white-collar role in a different company before I finished my training.
TL;DR - A team leader tried to frame me for her own theft so I spent the next 3 months in a solo sting operation to catch her stealing in a way I could take to management and prove it was her.”
Don’t know why he refused to read something like this even, but it seems pretty disrespectful to the OP of the post. Especially if you’re reading their story for your channel, the least you can do is read out the entire thing, rSlash.
@THE HOUSTONADER The fact that you're taking our criticisms as if we're literally holding a knife to rSlash and threatening him really says something about you.
We're merely pointing out that he cut out the last part of OP's post to be very odd since it had nothing offensive of that sort, and that it was basically disrespectful to the OP.
Yes, anyone can make a video on OP's post, but if you're going to use OP's story, the least one can do is properly finish it, especially since rSlash does profit off of Redditors' stories.
Understandably, he does pre-record them ahead of time, but that doesn't mean it should excuse it.
So if you want to continue telling me to shut up just because there's people out here who are giving criticism, then go ahead.
I love listening to the your darker revenge stories on days when I feel miserable. I can only do so much while dealing with physical problems, but hearing about other people handling their people problems helps.

"Penny wise, dollar foolish"? Nah. The alliteration isn't there.
OP being in a commited relationship already with a girl, having another girl lust for him, how much I pity this guy! :D
Ok, so yes Jay stealing and lying to cover her backside was incredibly wrong, BUT I hate this idea that 'iF iT's MeAnT tO gO iN tHe TrAsH yOu'Re StEaLiNg If YoU tAkE iT' that most companies have, ESPECIALLY with food products. I don't care if it's just candy or chips, waste is waste and there are many people who would literally beg for that food. 'F' these greedy companies for throwing away food and wasting rapidly declining resources just for their bottom dollar.
I believe in France it's now illegal for stores to throwaway food they can't sell anymore, instead they must donate it.
The problem isn't that they wouldn'T like to, but the responsibility added to them.
If the person eating those over date products gets ill, they can sue the company for neglect~
And in front of the law over-the-date food is equal to poisoned food.
Nothing like a pro revenge to start the week
In that 1st story if the Area Manager told me that if I didn't sign off for the training that I would be fired I would've told the manager "You won't fire me because I know where you live and if you fire me because I refuse to do a job that I am not trained or certified for I will be paying you a visit at your house and you will come up missing."
9:30
I can hear the “gotcha b*tch” meme😂
You know, I think the best Christmas gift would be a rslash marathon of him just reading, and telling story's.
The last story really highlights the problem that sexual harassment by women isn't taken nearly as seriously as it is by men. Women like the one in OP's story get way too much leeway. Had it been OP as a straight man doing the same things to a lesbian woman, he'd lost his job the moment she complained to HR.
Omg!!! The last story is soooooo satisfying!! No one should be touched at all in the workplace
"Can I have it, vs throwing it out?" "Only if you're okay with getting fired if anyone catches you." (said in a good way, to keep me/others out of trouble)
The solution was easy.
10:30 Somebody should tell that girl No means No.
The op's: but I have a friend or family who is a lawyer...

There was a girl at work who flirted with my boyfriend (not my boyfriend at the time) and when he asked her to stop he explained that he liked nerdy girls and she wasn’t one. She then proceeded to get his phone number for me and we’ve been together since, so I kind of have to thank her for it

FYI ~ Gay is an orientation, not a preference. Preference implies choice; trust me, we do not make a choice in the matter.
In that last story..... "I'm not above average attractiveness, I'd rate myself a strong 6/10" ....
That's...
That's above average though....
I'd say average is 5-6, maybe even 4-6. Do you have specific titles for each individual point out of 10?
@@Richard_Nickerson well average would be smack dead center innit
@@lucasdieugenio507
Are we in math class, or are we discussing the super subjective topic of physical attractiveness?
Also, fun fact: the mean of the 1-10 scale is actually 5.5, not 5.
Not really? Average is between 4 to 6. It's a bell curve, as most people aren't 1s nor 10s. So if we took all 7 something billion people, rated them 1 to 10, you'd find that MOST people would be average, but there's not really a strong difference between a 4, 5, and 6. If he said 7, yeah, that's above average.
Oh gee I'm sure that apology makes up for potentially ruining their future prospects with a theft charge.
In the last story, he never said that he told her that he is gay. Just rejected her and told her that he was in a relationship.
@THE HOUSTONADER being able to acknowledge a mistake is good thing and I appreciate you for correcting it.
@JayLeeBeanz thanks for the back up cousin.
I almost feel bad for Jessica (last story) because once I heard she was getting a divorce, I was like "Yeah, she's probably an older woman who's trying very, very, very hard to desperately get back in the game." But, hitting on/harassing a gay man is like 24 levels too far past "Just desperate".
That spineless boss is just as bad as Jessica.

rSlash, in the last story, OP didn't tell Jessica he was gay. OP only stated that he was in a relationship, which on it's own should've told Jessica to back off and stop.

As a woman it really pisses me off how men are not taken seriously for filing sexual harassment reports against a woman that they have clearly rejected (even if it's because they're genuinely not interested). I'm tired of this idea that women can't be predators, rapists, etc. Men deserve to have peace of mind too.
