To me, this is the first big project of F2P fighting game. Keyword being "Big". The success of this game might leave a mark in the Fighting Game genre as a whole
Great video breaking down the history even the obscure bits of the tag fighter sub genre! It is a sad say that unless something emerges out of the blue from one of the established companies the only hope we have is a new IP by a company known for F2P which is a business model I despise. I agree with most of your takes in this video except MVCI did a solid going back to 2v2 because it allowed for more dynamic assist mechanics. I much prefer to control my assist character than to have them to a quick action and dip. Moreover, just in my personal opinion keeping up with two partners is just an unnecessary load on the mental stack. That is just my take though. Enjoy your weekend!
I honestly think more deals need to be made like with DBZ Fighters. There are to many franchises just sitting out there that could be made into amazing fighting games with the right studio developing them. A Bleach tag fighter game, Yu Yu Hakusho, Naruto and etc..That's literally millions of dollars just waiting to be collected in my opinion. They seen how much DBZ Fighters sold if they think those 3 I just named wouldn't sell the same if not even more then they're crazy. Deal's like that need to be made more.
Ill put it like this: right now, brawlhalla is the most played fighting game on steam and its ftp. Free games really help with a playerbase but we wont know until it comes out how 2xko feels. That's going to be the deciding factor. And on top of that you gotta factor in people who dont want Vanguard on their computer. So its really anyones guess on how this game is gonna go
@@buckfutterssuper intrusive lol. It's not that wild. People just got paranoid. Look into it a little, it's not a free pass to your pc. Plus, in the years its been live there have been zero incidents, and cheaters in valo are extremely rare.
genuinley, praying on riot games to contribute to fighting games is not a good idea, developers over their cant tell left from right. cannot be trusted with competitive products
this was a good ass video, really appreciate the full history investigation you did prior too.
Thank you!

Good looking out for providing links to the background music used in the video. I wish more TH-camrs did that! 👍

A yu yu hakusho fighter would be crazy!
@@TVFGC Exactly that game would have crazy potential.
BEEN WAITING ON THIS ONE!
Omg no!
If you want to scratch that tag team "itch", play MK1.....until 2XK0 comes out.
That itch might turn into full blown hives messing with MK1 how the community speaks on it now.
Honestly I would say MvC3 or dbfz. Mk1 just ain’t it imo
How about Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid to quench that thirst for a "tag team fighter"? @@TVFGC
Heard that it was a good game and great netcode. Mr GameNLift played it and liked it. @@phillyman2837
