I've lived here for 3 years. We're fully aware we get overcharged for things. After a while you'll learn to not go with the first or second price, but unless the price is outrageous, we don't mind. It's a blessing to be able to live here, and helping the locals make a living and feed their families is worth the extra $1 or $2. You'll most likely never get the same price they charge each other, and that's okay. It's the name of the game.

totally agree. Let's compare, a Vietnamese bread with fried egg, cold meat, pate, vegetables, sauce... costs 20,000 ~ 25,000 vnd ( 1$ ). And a hamburger costs 4~5usd. Why should the same nutritious food have to choose the more expensive burger? And yes, I will choose bread. Left over 3$, enough for me to eat another bowl of pho and a cup of coffee.

Foods and services are often overpriced especially when you are travelling you often have a lot of money so you just ignore it. No what we mean is that restaurants and other locations hand out different menus to foreigners than they do natives, foreigners pay more for the same service in locations but don't complain as its still cheaper than what id comparable in their home country

@@TuanNguyen-bc1pe that beer would be about $2 a cup. So minimum 10 times higher. The price of room would be about $40-$60 a day if he does AirBNB in a dangerous poverty neighborhood. Also if some american said come to my home ... well the video wouldn't have been uploaded
