Well it is obvious from the video that yours is a wealthy country, based on the physical tangible things they have. Wealth isn't measured in pieces of paper, it's measured in artifacts of actual use that serve quality of life. The real mystery is why the going prices are so low. So why does it end up with an exchange rate that gives the US dollar a huge buying power? Rather than saying it is "cheap", perhaps it is more accurate to say your people are simply the least greedy. That sound better?

I'm a foreigner who has been living here in Việt Nam for 5yrs now as well as married to a local Vietnamese woman and in reality Việt Nam is only cheap for most of the local people who barely make enough money to survive, especially if they have a family when the average income is 7 to 10 Million VND equaling 3 to 5 hundred USD because if you're a foreigner or a wealthy Vietnamese with a good income stream then it's affordable to expensive, due to wanting a higher standards of living and quality life, cause well made luxury items cost more in Việt Nam especially if you're buying a car, cellphone, computers, camera etc.
Food on the other hand is cheap to affordable again it depends on where you eat and if you want to eat clean quality food verses local local street food or at a not so popular infested restaurant and end up sick or worse, so when it come to Việt Nam and cost of living & food it's knowing where to go and what you want when it comes to spending your money on quality or cheap crappy items & unclean food not prepared well that won't make you sick... So Vietnam being the cheapest country in the world is a understatement.

I went to Hanoi 15 years ago and it is still my #1 country to visit . I think you missed the point of Ha Long Bay which has this amazing floating village and forget the Super Yacht go for one of the Junks . I am Canadian and was very interested in the museums that covered the period of the Vietnam War and frankly a visit to the War Museum might be a cultural shock for the average Americanas it’s very in your face reality check and frankly after two hours it was clear that sad war [ called the American War ] was never going to be a win for the US . Great food absolutely charming people and yes the craziest traffic in the world especially if your a pedestrian.

Vietnam is not cheap in every way. Everything is low quality from food, clothes, healthcare, hotels, and service. Vietnam is not a rosy place like many post on here. It is a dangerous place to travel in, dirty, unsanitary, disease ridden, noisy, uncivilized country full of cheats and liars, and the Vietnamese are not loyal people. The Vietnamese only welcome tourists for their money. Don't be mislead by the posts about how great it is here and how wonderful the country is. Just look at the highways how filthy and litter-ridden they are. Life is still cheap here and buses and trucks will run you over and kill you to make a bit of money. There little consideration in this country for you or your life.

I love this video so much that you aspired me to go get a passport and go to Vietnam. I'm going to stay at the same hotels and do exactly what you did cuz I'm a foodie and thank you for opening up my eyes I usually only travel to Hawaii but now I'm going to go to Vietnam in January because of your video and I'm also going to go to the Bay. So keep doing what you're doing cuz you just inspired me to travel outside of my comfort zone and try something new thank you very much I love your channel so much
